    I was wondering if the SST series and these ran on the same course over the same weekend. Bet that sells a lot of tickets! My two favorite underdog series back to back. Yes please!!

    When this series first started it was awesome, but too much money involved now, you don't have any straight 6 chargers or holdens. Cam Tilley does an amazing job with the pacer though.

    • @fullnoyz7670
      @fullnoyz7670 Před 5 lety +1

      It's a shame there's no chargers or xu1's to much hp out of the v8's to keep up

    So are the cars all built with different engines? Like the proper engines for the model of cars? Or is it like Nascar where everyone has the same engines and internals with just the different body styles?

    • @brandonjamesgillespie4446
      @brandonjamesgillespie4446 Před 4 lety +1

      All the cars have different engines, most are v8s but some have straight 6's, the blue valliant pacer of Cameron Tilly's is a straight 6. The Ford's will run their 302/351, the checks will run small block chevs and the Torana will run either chev or Holden blocks

    Not many cars left competing?? Greatest car racing in Aussie, heaps better than "supercars" (every car the same) should be more popular Where has Jim Richards disappeared to?????

      @bremCZ Před 6 lety +2

      TRUTH SEEKER It's a round some skip because they don't want the extra cost of getting the car across the water.

    The powers that be really are determined to keep the small guy out of motor racing. Non standard engines, huge brakes, adjustable suspension and now EFI, what a joke. They’ll be V8 Super Cars before ya know it. They were supposed to run under Group C specs and now look. Complete wrort.

  • @volksdeutschewaffenss9670

    these cars are slowly losing there character, motech fuel injection, 700+hp engines what's next
    why not keep the cars engines to the HP of when they raced in the 70s- 80s 350 to 500 HP
    they are turning into v8 supercars with just with old car bodys sitting on the chassis
    let them race under rules and engine specs of the day,
    whats next nascar engines 900+HP, fiberglass bodies

    • @udpsnake5159
      @udpsnake5159 Před 6 lety +1

      Go watch Group N historic touring cars or its subcategories if you want cars that are less upgraded and leave us with our souped up muscle cars. By the way did you not hear the commentator mention the carbs on Steven Johnson's mustang being rejetted?

    • @volksdeutschewaffenss9670
      @volksdeutschewaffenss9670 Před 6 lety +3

      karl they are basically v8 super cars with a old body shells, nothing much else would be left, engine , gear box ,diff brakes etc would be all non original, why bother using old cars, would be much better off using carbon fibre.
      but its all been done before, in the 70s we used to watch the same cars with f5000 engines, up to 600hp in toranas ,falcons vals ect, back then no one ever used the american term muscle cars as the younger generation call them today
      the hot cars with f5000 engines in the 70s were known as sports sedans ,its all been done before, muscle car masters is follow the leader , hardly any overtaking ect,
      that's why they have reverse grid starts so there's some overtaking its so boring
      really its the same as v8 super cars follow the leader, so boring, like watching paint dry

    • @udpsnake5159
      @udpsnake5159 Před 6 lety +2

      volksdeutsche waffen ss This category was made so they didn't have to be bound by the restrictions of historic touring class and so the historic touring class could stay as it is so no way should they have to revert back to rules of all original parts. I and a lot of other fans of the category aren't interested in seeing the original brakes, tyres and suspension because hardly anyone wants to see body roll, brake fade and all the rest of those problems that production cars were plagued with.

    • @volksdeutschewaffenss9670
      @volksdeutschewaffenss9670 Před 6 lety +3

      basically the categories has moffed into boring racing just like v8 super cars have, there's simply no or little overtaking, the rule makers are aware of this and adopted reverse grid starts in a effort to make the racing more exciting , sorry but i dont like follow the leader racing soo boring, the cars all have same brakes, diff , tyre size, near same hp, no wonder there's no lead changes,
      why do you think they have reverse grid races for, think about it,

      Torana.
      It's a Torana, pronounced Tore are nar.
      Say it with me Richard Cranium, Torana and again T o r a n a, I even typed it slowly so you maybe could keep up.
