Imagine being the Spirit of Fire crew. Fighting the Flood and being forced to sit in cryostasis for decades... only to find the Flood again.
Imagine being the graveimind, only sending a part of itself to the ark and the rest of his tenticals are there to resurect him, then he dgets a huge update from a grave mind from these other floods making a gravemind, or protgravemind.
i'm sure the halowars flood were entrhalled to gain acess to pure forms the garvemind invented., but they kind of made there own anyway
“No, not you again!”
These blast points, too accurate for Combat Forms. Only Orbital Drop Shock Troopers are so precise.
Ratio Tile actually flood are more precise!
You know it boi
Hello there
TurtleOver Lord got a yo mama joke?
czcams.com/video/FTrxDBDBOHU/video.html
Blister was already in Halo 3, remember the pimples you could pop and infection forms would come out in the gravemind mission?
Yeah, those forms are in that game. So, nothing new there.
you're* Your comment makes this ironic.
Curtis Kelly welcome to the internet
@A Bcd Dude, for fuck sake, quit being such an incel.
@A Bcd Why are you such an asshole?
- Comes in a multitude of forms✔
- Has a massive numerical advantage over enemies✔
- Very easy to infect enemies (similar to first point)✔
- Enemies' death adds to Flood's overall strength✔
- Access to enemies' memories✔
- Able to infect machinery and AI✔
All I can say is, thank *God* The Flood aren't real
If the flood were real and came to infect earth I'd just bust a cap in my head on the spot. Lol
@@justinbiggs1005 good call
@@rturae the good news Is I wouldn't have to suffer. The bad news is they'll still use me to add to themselves after I killed myself, lol.
@@CrazyRussian16 haha. Hopefully that would work. If it doesn't? Well. Might as well give it a go anyways. Not going to affect the outcome as either way I'm not coming out alive. Lol
I would fight till the end. I've been playing Halo and read all the books since 2001 when I was introduced to Halo. I have a 2019 way of beating the flood.
The flood abomination forms are probably my favorite flood form.
It's so nice to have the goo bois back.
LateNightGaming - Video Game News & Entertainment same jugernaut now Canon
I've waited so long for my favorite space parasites to return
How are there pure forms there is only a proto gravemind and like you said only graveminds can make pure forms and also if there is a gravemind then why is the flood creating a proto gravemind?
(I may have spelled proto wrong.)
what are the small abomination things called
No
I wish the flood was playable
Treesniper I heard rumors that they will be available in an update
But they will be much weaker but higher in numbers
So you could have 200 infection forms but they would have the strength of 4 hunters
But if they kill an enemy they take over it
That would be really cool
@@Captianmex1C0 lies
Treesniper same ):
They were going to be playable in the first game, but the team couldn’t find a good balance with the flood while keeping them hard for the campaign.
Me: “Hmm, more plasma fodder”
Me after seeing the gameplay footage: “We’re all gonna die!” *hugs a grunt for dear life*
A detail I really like is that a lot of the new forms have glowing yellows boils, since they mostly live in a pitch dark ruin. Again showing the quick adaptation of the Flood
HiddenXperia: I hope we get to see the Juggernaut in-game.
343: (Laughs in Fireteam Raven)
Flood Spawners would have been a NIGHTMARE in the FPS Halo games.
343: Hmmmmm...
the flood are the best parasite in sci-fi
Goku Black they are the best*
William Rowley xenomorph anyone ?
samuel alvarez I believe it goes flood then xenomorph as I have been killing flood longer than I have been binge watching each alien movie
+samuel alvarez Honestly the Flood is way cooler and scarier than the Xenomorphs. Xenos are really cool and are movie monsters, but I think the Flood is way more terrifying and on a much grander scale.
Vantave flood would KILL the xenomorphs
Yeah the Juggernaut is cannon now if they put in halo 6 it's gonna be bitch to kill
It would be fun tho, I'm always down for a new flood form
the flood needs to be in halo 6
I think they are the game will probably take place on a halo that has history about the flood hidden has talked about it
Replace the prometheans. The prometheans r so boring to fight
i thought that the flood was completley wipped out after the rings
@@strikerbass6952 The Flood always exists
Well well well, If there ain't some good news I've got for you
Im loving these new forms. Anyways you said you don't understand how flood infect ships. Now allow me to throw in my "theory" whether this is backed up ingame is unknown to me. It seems the forms infect the one driving. The creature itself is much to small to creat things like that. So my theory is it infects the driver, uses there knowledge on the vehicle and spread the new biomass around the vehicle. This is likely to make small improvements or because the biomass doesnt have anywhere else to go so it simply becomes apart of the ship.
AlphaXbox you love these retarded new forms? When there are already plenty of good ones already
I think the biomass might serve as a sort of patch repair to the damage to the hull of the vehicle, the equivalent of using duct tape or glue to seal a breach together.
Yeah, tbh we can make some very logical assumptions based on how the Flood work as to how they control ships - they infect the crew, collect their intelligence about the ship and how it works into one central intelligence (Proto-Gravemind most likely), then use that to control the Combat Forms on board to pilot the ship.
Gamerpro909 here good theory tho I believe that it is that yes they infect the driver but they also infect everything around it and spread biomass everywhere to control the ship it's not a matter of driver infection but take halo 3 the ship is being trailed by flood spores and the ship is covered in biomass so it just says that the ship is infected not the driver
@@zombie3nergy214 Different opinions, get the know em.
Just looking at those swarms of infection forms just makes me wish I had a Halo CE assault rifle...
What's wrong with the MA37 MA5C and MA5D
Griffin Gower they don’t have a 60 round magazine and the punchiness of the original
Why not a heavy flamer or a bolter rifle
'That stench... I've smelled it before.'
Man I fucking love the flood, now just imagine al these flood forms in a FPS Halo, so epic!
Still haven't explained why the hell they glow like they're lambent from Gears of War
TheRed Hawk Lol
They've glowed since Halo CE in a type of pulsating fashion, granted it wasn't quite as bright but still.
+Bubbajoe117
There's a difference between a slight glow and a being a Light Show at a Disco Concert
Hence why I said "granted it wasn't quite as bright" :/ Personally I don't really see why everyones having such a problem with it, it's different from what we've seen for sure but not exactly unfitting, not like they've compromised the core of the floods I.C.O.N.I.C design while they add in their own designs to the new forms.
To be fair, the stretch arm thing for the Abomination is a bit silly
Ughhh creepy. Image your in a squad of marines hunting down a group of covenant and all of a sudden everything goes quiet, the ground starts to rumble. All of a sudden a massive 10 foot tall spore burrows out of the ground. A loud squelching and beefing noise. Tentacles reach out grabbing and smashing your squad. Running away you turn around and the spore/carrier explodes, oozing out the bacteria, strong stench of decomposition. Infection forms horde towards you.
That would make a scary, heart beating and awesome cutscene!
the flying flood forms can actually be seen in gravemind in halo 3. I found them flying above in the sky in the large open room just before you find cortana. They seem way smaller than in hw2 though.
Damn, those flood forms can do that? They can control vehicle and air units. They really got new tricks on them.

Heck yeah. Was hoping you would cover these and yet again, you deliver. Keep it up man!
The Blisters are like Xeno eggs, I agree XD.
Thank god you covered this I was waiting so long for a video sbout them
Awsome job Xperia! I love you videos! Thanks for all the lore videos you have made.
Thanks man! More on the way :D
Can we just appreciate how amazing of a job CA and 343 did with this. This was probably the only time I’ve gotten physically ill from a game. The Flood were just so beautifully disgusting and horrifying! I never thought an RTS could freak me out, but this expansion definitely did. Honestly, I enjoyed AtN more than the main HW2. It’s so freaking good!
hey Hidden so apparently theres a new theory going around that Halo 5 guardians trailer is actually Halo 6s trailer and im not gonna lie seems legit will you be doing a video covering on this?
That's been a theory for a while, but I've seen that video going around recently about it and I've been tempted to make my own video on it
What video?
ah okay im not in the halo scene too much basically only watch your vids and some others, just saw a released video about it earlier so thought it was new
Akosa117 If I'm not mistaken, I think "Luke The Notable" or "HaloFollower" did such a video like that.
Here is my take on it: while halo 5 wasn't a "trailer", it is obvious that from a story side it was setting something up. The story was light, not well explained, with tons of bad things, but it did bring a very interesting topic, one of the missing things left unanswered by halo 3: what did the gravemind do to her when she was stuck on high charity. It's obvious he wasn't trying to infect her with the logic plague. Even forruner AIs were unable go resist it, so there is no way in hell Cortana would have resisted it as long as she did. No he needed to break her to the core to suceed in his plans.
The gravemind is a biological supercomputer. He is extremely smart. And he probably noticed at one point that this invasion would fail. That he and all his flood force would die. If it wasn't for him failing on the ark, it would have been from the countless other things we saw like the gardians and the Prometheans (which were enough to slow down the flood in a stages where they were unstoppable. They would have been able to stop the flood in a weakened state). He has to plan ahead. After all, memory passes through graveminds, his plans and experience would follow him in his new life. So he tried to break Cortana so he could Infect her to her deepest thoughts. And he suceeded. When we are about to save her, it is clear the gravemind suceeded in his plans. And since he is a supercomputer, he would have easely been able to do everything he needed by the time chief got into the room.
If you think about it this way, every event from halo 4 and halo 5 make perfect sense. His goal was to make sure that when he came back, there wouldn't be any forces able to wipe the flood out. So he simply gave Cortana 2 objectives deep in her mind. The first was that she needed to get rid of the menace posed by the Prometheans. That was to destroy the last living forruner (that we know of anyways) that was the only being he knew was able to command the Prometheans agaisnt him. He made sure to keep Cortana and chief alive as he didn't want humanity to be wiped out and used as fuel for more Prometheans, and chief was the only person able to defeat the didact. Then there was the gardians. after the didact was dealt with, cortana needed to penetrate the domain (idk how he managed to know the domain wasn't destroyed but whatever) and take control of the gardians and Prometheans and weaken every sentient beings in the Galaxy to prepare them for the flood return. The logic plague started to show here, as the gravemind's plans were getting closer and closer. She would find a way to neutralize the threat posed by AIs by offering them immortality in the domain while also infecting them with the logic plague.
And now, he only needed one thing, to make sure John 117 wouldn't be around, and that all the rings would be under his control. He did suceed in one, but thanks to the bot so glorious cutscene abilites of locke, Cortana failed to secure chief, as well as rooting all serious war vessel in the Galaxy. Now the last thing he needs is a proper foothold. And he would be I unstoppable.
But there is one being that he couldn't have possibly accounted for. One that no one, even the forruners had records of living to this day, could very well be humanity's last hope: mendicant bias.
This contents class AI was formerly infected by the logic plague and commanded the flood fleets during the forruner flood war. He was later defeated after the activation of the rings and was disassembled and almost completely deactivated, only able to feel the consequences of his actions. However he managed to rebuild himself when the keyship went to the ark, and he quickly overcomed the security of the ark, but he instead turned ties again and helped the master cheif survive and active the rings. Considering the ark is still alive, it is very probable that he survived as well, and since in all records he is "dead", the gravemind will not be able to plan for him. He is also able to overcome at least partially the confirm Cortana has on the AIs and Prometheans and would be an essential part on beating the gravemind and Cortana.
I love Halo and this channel, thank you for teaching us so much!
I really like what 343 is doing with the "parasite" and I can't wait to see them in Halo 6. A lot of what 343 has been doing to Halo is not as pleasing as I want it to be, *cough cough* req system, but I wish them luck with Halo 6
Me too , I hate the red system
#calledit When I was looking at the Abomination for reference for something I noticed it was distinctly different, and my headcanon was that it was an emergency mutation of the juggernaut meant rather than being a smaller control point and defender of the hive but a mobile basically proto-gravemind for the purpose of expanding and keeping the graveminds control active.
Flood form idea: Necrosis
Huge flood biomass form with a black, burn texture. It moves semi-quickly yielding a melee attack as well as three different ranged attacks:
*An all-directional bone dart blast dealing the same damage as the ranged forms from Halo 3.
*A vomit of highly-acidic flood juices that impacts a surface for the purpose of area-of-denial purposes.
*Infection form vomit with an exception- the infection forms spawned from this Necrosis can breach energy shielding and deal damage [to health] ignoring armor.
The Necrosis upon death would then split into three forms each with the following characteristics (all being a sixth as powerful and a third as massive).
*A dark-green steamy form that lobs pools of acid at you dealing damage over time upon melee and ranged attacks.
*A classically colored yellowish diarrhea form that vomits infection forms and increases the resistances of nearby flood forms AS WELL AS making them charge.
*And finally, a reddish form that fires spikes towards you and leaves a trail of super heated flood juices that slowly deals damage.
The Necrosis would be a (sort of) boss type of flood. I don't think that [if it (by some miracle) were added] it should be a copy and paste enemy.
What do you think, Experia?
Lmao isn't this just the necrosis boss from sas4
Where's my ciro bombs and hardplate armor
Playing too much dead space are we?
in normal lands...you make sandwich...
*IN BLIGHTLANDS...YOU ARE SANDWICH*
I don't know why but I really like learning about the flood
This Channel knows so much of halo Keep it up you guys are doing so well
So the new brute combat forms are almost like the originals accept they don't have the red flowery bits coming out of the throat. The infection form infects the brutes differently because the brutes face is still intact in this DLC when it's become infected, it doesn't get opened wider to then make way for the red flowery bits. Also, these new brute combat forms have 2 weapons, a whip like the originals and a ball of biomass which acts like a mace...pretty cool new innovation to the flood combat form imo.
I have to say your lore videos are amazing man. I dont usually comment but you totally deserve it! You have literally inspired me to spend way to much money to find pc versions of the halo games ahha
4:50 that's the most terrifying thing I've ever seen
Flood Abominations are my favorite Flood designs yet
It was really interesting man!! Keep up the good work!
The airborne form is my favourite it's crazy but awesome
I love those new flood form btw great video
Does anyone know why the Abominations were so much bigger than the ones we saw in the cutscene where the flood are released from High Charity? Those ones look like the size of regular brutes.
My guess is either Blur used an earlier design for the abomination that was smaller or misunderstood how big it was actually supposed to be.
"What. Wait, why? That's wrong. That's objectively incorrect." Luc's exact words when I showed him the Keymind lore.
Oh I can't wait for that video.
should be interesting
I think he's kind of making too much of a fuss about it...
Devs make the lore, not a salty youtuber.
I see you pay attention to a lot of stuff in the community.
The flood spawner seems like it’s a redesign of a cut flood form from one of the other halo games two or three and I believe it was talked about in one of the other videos
HiddenXperia video: exists
Me, one year later: *this is where the fun begins*
Yes. I have been waiting for this lol. Thanks for the great video!
And the flood lore train continues, keep up the great work!
The Keymind War Form isnt confusing, it just works like this:
Key Minds can form before Graveminds, but cannot become or replace Graveminds because of developmental constraints. The Key Minds seen in the Forerunner-Flood War were just these equipped with planet-spanning amounts of biomass all rigged for computational power.
**insert a counter for every word similar to ugly or horifying and a curse counter**
**a single tear goes down a Flood Marine's head**
Is that the alien music in the background? And I’m so glad the juggernaut is finally canon again😃😃😃😎😎!!!
Thanks to you and halo follower, I now know almost all if not all things in halo
Halo wars 2 was the best halo game in years, need this team writing the story and lore for the new games
Halo 6: All of the Flood Forms in one game.
Book it 343.
The bursters and blisters kind of remind me of Zerg forms
Those flying flood forms look fucking scary. Imagine fighting them in Halo 6 whole flying a Banshee or Wasp.
Greetings
Found you some days ago and have to admit that im really addicted to your Halo content
Good Job! And keep on pressin on. = ) Greetings from Germanios
I think it would make more sense if Abominations were made sparingly (due to the amount of biomass needed that could otherwise be used in Gravemind development) towards middle and end of a Proto-Graveminds transformation into a true Gravemind as a 'signal booster' to help coordinate flood attacks outside of its area of influence.
And then once the Coordinated stage was reached, and the Gravemind created, these Abominations would become Juggernauts, converting whatever biomass was being used as a now defunct 'signal booster' into more weaponized muscles or those iconic ;) tentacles or even defensive plating, becoming a purely combative enemy.
Either at this point they are ceased being made (explaining why we never saw them in previous games, as however many were made in the "feral-semi-coordinated stage" are as many as are in a colony ever).
Alternatively they are seldom created due to the amount of biomass required and their fringe uses (In destroying structures and guarding the Gravemind maybe) when other pure forms may be more suited and adaptable (May also explain why we've never seen one). This also assumes that Juggernauts are a more rudimentary, simplistic pure form that cannot transform as the other pure forms do only ever being able to shift between an Abomination and a Juggernaut when needed.
Perhaps when a Gravemind is destroyed it could revert into an Abomination becoming weaker but being able to coordinate flood around it to create a new Proto-Gravemind sooner than typical feral flood would.
This was my favorite mission from Halo Wars 2
Flood Abomination boss fight, accompanied by Flood Juggernauts.
When I see infection forms I think of facehuggers
I remembering seeing the proto grave mind in Halo Wars and my mind just melted
Man I wish I could play as the flood
Agreed
The flood spawner looks like a infected precursor
Been playing Halo Wars 2 just this past week!
I’ve been away from halo for a while, I subscribed, and there’s NEW FLOOD FORMS?!
Love your vids man. If I won the complete edition you would make my life
Scary new forms
Why does the blister look like the facehugger eggs from AVP extinction the game.
As always you make a PERFECT fucking video
i love how the flood looks and behaves the same way a typical biological virus would. latching onto cells (humans) and causing them to explode and release more of their own. shit is wild how even the flood spore only looks like a smaller version of the small crawly thing. almost as if the universe is a separate body and the flood is the virus attacking it's cells
The 4 things I want in Halo 7:
1. The new flood forms from Halo Wars and Halo Wars 2
2. Juggernaut Form
3. Flood Abomination
4. Atriox and Jega 'Rdomnai return
Christ, why did they have to make The Flood more terifying than it already is?
I think the infestor is actually the cut flood form the infector and the flood spawner is the transport form
Now I want The Flood in Halo 6 even more!
I wish that you could play as the flood. Like the base would just be a huge amount of biomass in a spot and instead of grunts/marines you had flood infection forms (for example, they could have as low health as yap yaps cannon fodder). One unit in the "raid camp" could be a basic flood infection form.
Here is how my head canon about the whole keymind/gravemind fiasco: The proto-graveming the Banished end up destroying is a _Proto_-Keymind, and the Behemoths are just Warmind variants of Graveminds. Feel free to retcon that in 343.
343 and CA really amazed me with this new expansion
its worth noting that in the cutscene where we first see them, that unlucky brute is the first combat form in years. with the containment field around it the flood would have to keep using the same biomass over and over and waiting for the new forms to starve, or enter a dormant state. which probably has something to do with the very ramshackle designs the flood put together in their time in high charity, they had no memories to copy from or model to use. also probably why we don't see the halo 3 pure forms among them.
I like these new forms but, honestly I’m not a big fan of the glowing blisters on them, they just remind me of the Lampent now
They look like the original flood model of infection forms in Halo CE
Guys let's rebel against 343 cuz we all agree bunje Halo had the best flood
They gotta let the flood in Halo 6. Aliens, Flood, and Prometheans? All in one game? Yes please!
More. More lore, hidden. MOAR. Please. =]
Is the music of this video from Halo Wars 2???
I think the things that look like smaller abominations are just normal Juggernauts, since the Abominations are said to be basically a larger juggernaut with proto-gravemind like capabilities
They’re actually called gaunts, looking like the abominations but smaller
Imagine an Abomination vs the Banished Scarab in infinite. Oh the fight would be marvelous
Honestly I wish we could play as the flood in a halo without mods
If halo 6 featuring flood man i wish there will be a death cutscene like Dead space has. For example when a infection form latches on to you when you have no shield and it's infecting the player and make it become a combat form.
The blister looks like a xenomorph egg
We actually have seen the blisters before, in Halo Wars 1. They only occasionally had infection forms inside them though.
we've sort of seen the Blister before In Halo Wars 1
and in Halo 3
He lied to us.
Lol
No hard feelings tho
Gamerpro909 here we have already seen them in halo 3
I want that giveaway so much.
Dang I never knew we would get SO MANY new flood types of FORMS WOW
not biased and I say it's a good thing, as it looks like Halo Wars 2 certainly got some RTS inspiration from Star Craft when it comes to The Flood as a potential third playable race.
tiered hive minds - grave mind, abomination and in between
SC - Overmind, queens/cerebrates and overlords
creatures spawning multiple smaller creatures to overrun and siege enemies
sc - Swarm host
can control pilots
sc - infestors
tanky large melee units
sc- ultralisks
I wouldn't mind a one of non-canonical Star Craft/Halo Wars cross over.
The fighting genre has been dabbling in it for years with fun success.
flood blisters were kind of in halo 3. the pimple looking things on the wall that burst infection forms out when destroyed
OMG soo many flood!
the flood are not disgusting, they're beautiful!!!
are you going to do a video on why there are pure forms before a gravemind is established?
aWraithsSoul
actually the lore is pretty clear, until the proto gravemind becomes fully developed, pure forms could not be made.
and considering the abilities of the proto gravemind being far inferior to the gravemind itself, this makes sense.
Should be covered next video, I think...
just had a geek out moment, that you actually responded to me!
thanks cant wait for the next video!
I wonder if the proto-gravemind in Halo 1 that Captain Keyes was assimilated into was a flood abomination that managed to become stationary in the Truth and Reconciliation
Now we hope they add flood as a playable race
I think giving captured Flood infected vehicles extra flood biomass for looks was an interesting idea they should mod into Halo 2
Some of them look like something out of Sunset Overdrive
