First Video in a series of videos to help potential Engineering students transition into the real world. HOW TO WRITE AN ENGINEERING RESUME FROM SCRATCH! • How to write an Engine...
Joshua The Science god The definite cutoff point. I have a 3.4 GPA but others have above 3.7 which is also why I don’t even bother interning at the moment. Besides,it’s a constant struggle to stay ahead of the courses and pass these god forsaken exams
C.J. David I coded Tutored Directed traffic in the summer They don’t care what you do,if your GPA is low in comparison of others then you’re jacked. There was a seinor who just started C++ coding with a 3.7 GPA without any experience and he got in just fine. They only care for the GPA. Furthermore, your time as an engineer is better spent trying to ace your classes anyway. I am still researching topics in Linear Algebra (LA) as we speak. I also research vids for EE’s here too.
Kenshin Himura It depends where you apply to. Mostly all you need is a 3.0 at the least. If not, yes, it’ll make it harder to get an internship. There’s a guy on CZcams who made a video on how to get into the Big 4, Google, Amazon, etc and he had a GPA lower than a 3.0. Once you get that first internship, that can overshadow everything else. You should be fine.
C.J. David Thank you and yes the requirement for the internship is 3.0 but others who outclass most will get in. I do know at this point in life that one’s life differs from another, and therefore they will face different challenges. I’m not giving up on my challenge because I will protect my dreams,I even get my life on it. I see I must outclass others before I could even fathom applying despite whatever experiences I have. That is what they want, and so I must give them what they want. We must succumb to their demands. That is the way of the engineer. What do I know? I’m just a shitty engineer I guess,a shitty engineer with a dumbass dream. I’ll tell you all that I will bet my life on it to even put my foot in the door. And I don’t give a rat’s ass how long it will take for me to accomplish it.
So glad I have so many hook ups. My uncle is a senior electrical engineer at Lockheed, my brother in a 2nd year engineer at Lockheed, and our very close family friend is a 5th year engineer also at Lockheed 😂. And they are all electrical and so am I
How to get updated for online applications of programs ....? And i have one more question that one of my friend has got a scholarship that is paying for his 3-4 weeks stay in MIT along with airfare and stipend too ... Isn't there any such programs for civil engineering ?
Please tell me for getting internships abroad, for example i am from India (pursuing chemical engineering) and looking for internship in USA what is the way for that
Most of this is pretty obvious. Im currently a rising senior, have a 2.8 at a prestigious state school and did research but still no internship. I guess my degree will come in handy once I be a full time waiter or have some other minimum wage job..
Year 3, after taking the basic electronic classes...basic circuits, digital and transistors, also a programming class. That was good enough to be an intern.
Worst part is, I’ve been doing all of this, and still barely get any offers. I’ve applied for probably close to 200 positions and have had less than a handful of interviews. Bare in mind, I’m a first year senior (taking my capstone in the fall), I have a decent GPA (just below a 3.5), and have been applying for companies continuously for 6 semesters.
I’m honestly beginning to wonder if I made the wrong choice in choosing Mechatronics Engineering instead of Computer Science, Mechanical, or Electrical.
@@howardbaxter2514 here’s a little advice, sometimes all those applications don’t work . You need contacts. People who can refer you to other people in companies. Contact whatever people you know, if you don’t, work something that lets you socialize. I work as a server and I am so thankful for the opportunities that I am being offered.
@@hanadiberjaoui8112 thanks. I’ll try that approach more. However, I would like to add that the interviewer for one internship I applied for last spring actually knew my mom, and I applied for a position at my mom’s old job (she well respected at her old job), and still got nothing. Hopefully this doesn’t become a recurring issue as well.
@@howardbaxter2514 that’s just one interview that didn’t work! doesn’t mean everything else won’t or that it will be recurring. Keep trying :) you will be more confident as well when you’ve been to a lot of interviews. And you will attract the right one with time.
When I was in school, I got job opportunities by attending my school career fairs, so you have to put in some work. After I had some experience, I created a LinkedIn account and people started reaching out to me. I also applied online but sometimes It took months to even get a phone call.
+Panora-Mic (Andy Ton) yes it's currently on the works. It takes me a long time to make these videos(have a full time job) so it might take a few weeks/months to go up. Thanks for the support :)
Two questions sir… or for anyone with some knowledge about it… 1) When would be a good idea for engineering students to apply for the internship? 2) can Electrical engineering technology major in undergrad college apply for engineering internship? I go to buffalo state college and currently am electrical engineering technology major. I’m a freshman and about to start my second semester from spring 2018…
1) When would be a good idea for engineering students to apply for the internship? -> I think you should apply for a technical internship as soon as you take the first few introductory classes. If you know how to use a power supply, Oscilloscope and DMM then you are ready. 2) can Electrical engineering technology major in undergrad college apply for engineering internship? -> Yes there are many internships available for undergrad.
when he said gpa I cried lol

Kenshin Himura Why would you not try? Lol. GPA is important, but also what you do outside of grades.

Damn
please make a video on how to prepare for an interview.
Great videos mate
Thanks :)
Hi, thanks for your videos. Could you please make a video about engineering job interviews. Thanks!
Nice Video

please , do a video for electrical engineering emphasis in power
Still working on it! Will be up soon!
Please tell me for getting internships abroad, for example i am from India (pursuing chemical engineering) and looking for internship in USA what is the way for that
Any plans to make a video for control systems engineering?
Getting prepared for the 2019 National NSBE Conference !! March 27-31
Nice! Good luck!
Me as well but do we already know where is going to be this year?
engineering job interview videos!!!!
Hola amigo, quantos tiempo has estado en USA?

A lot of companies require a minimum of 3.0 gpa
Engineering job interviews please
please post a link to the engineering resume you made
It will be upp soon! Finishing up!

Tips for engineering interview
What year of college did you get your internship? And when is the best time to apply?

But like how would you find a job do they reach out to you or do you have to reach out to them
When I was in school, I got job opportunities by attending my school career fairs, so you have to put in some work. After I had some experience, I created a LinkedIn account and people started reaching out to me. I also applied online but sometimes It took months to even get a phone call.
You went to CSULB. Their program is competitive and not easy to get into. 3.0 GPA and up is required to get in. Anyways, thanks for the tips!
No I attended CSUN
Thank you so much for sharing these precious knowledge .
Could you please do a Engineer Job Interview ?
I really appreciate your time .
+Panora-Mic (Andy Ton) yes it's currently on the works. It takes me a long time to make these videos(have a full time job) so it might take a few weeks/months to go up. Thanks for the support :)
Interview please
What college did you attend?
CSUN
How much does engineer schools cost?
That is a good question...in California it varies between UC, CSU, and Private.
An engineering degree could cost you from 5000/Year --> 60000/Year
Is it really worth the money
Absolutely. I got my degree from the CSU system so it was about 6000/year for tuition + books
I fear that COVID will affect my ability to find a job when I graduate 2021. 😭
Hmm anything is possible however I still see a lot of companies hiring ...you just have to get used to zoom lol
I have some questions to ask..
Ask away sir
Go Beyond Engineering thank you. But i'd prefer doing it by email-- if you dont mind sending me your email address
beyondengineeringtips@gmail.com
Ohh shit, I'm currently doing Electrical engineering and my GPA is 2.9😭😭😭
Try to get it above 3.0, it will allow you to apply to more places.
what is your job?
RelearnMath That's pretty cool
+CollinG16 I'm also doing recruiting now so I know what recruiters look for , good luck

thank you so much for taking time to give me an advice. It's so helpful.
I just had a John Deer intern recruiter come to a class and he said beginning of Sophomore year and up is what there looking for.
I wish you talked faster
Did you try 1.25 speed?
This video made me want to drop out of college
