@The SNES Man oh the film has many inaccuracies. In fact, this ending seems to suggest that Pete was still with them when they got super-famous. And it makes him out to be a WAAAAAY better drummer than he really was. Also, the film has them all being kicked out of Germany because George was underage, when only he was kicked out for that reason (Paul & Pete were deported over a vandalism incident and John & Stu left on their own).
There is nothing bitter in this parting. No rejection. Astrid was drawn to The Beatles before she was drawn to Stuart. They are resilient; Life isn't over. She knows this is not the end.
