    Chrissy has the mentality we should all have about our body image. We allow society to “domesticate” us by telling us what “normal” is, how we should look, and how we should live our lives but Carrie - like she says here - doesn’t attach herself to those ideals and opinions. That puts her in a position of power and control over her OWN life. Good for her! She’s not claiming that being overweight is healthy - The message she is sharing (which a lot of commenters seem to be missing) is that we should love ourselves UNCONDITIONALLY regardless of how we look or what others think of us. None of us personally know her or her medical history so it’s foolish to assume she does nothing to lose the weight. It’s not as easy for everyone.

      @@whitneydavis7443 Very true. But, I don't think Chrissy doesn't love herself. I think her self-esteem is pretty good from what I have seen in her interview and when she talks about herself. The issue is she is not motivated to care enough about her health and is lazy. Not everyone who is this obese has low self-love and not everyone who is fit or thin have good self-love or good self-esteem. The size of the body and shape has little to do with our self-esteem and self-care and self-love.
      I have always been naturally thin because I have a super fast metabolism. But, that didn't make me feel more confident or love my body or myself more than an overweight person. I got into fitness for my health and to gain strength and muscle tone, not to lose weight. It took me a while to love my body as is even though I now I have a fit and healthy body.
      I think her issue is just lack of self-care about her weight and lack of motivation to care about her health. If she stays at this weight as she ages more she will have huge health issues and won't live past age 60.

And at least three people who had the surgery bc they let society bully them into thinking that it would be a magic pill, the weight would disappear, and all of their problems would be solved. Guess what? None of that happened. After going through the expense and pain of the surgery, in some cases permanently and irreversibly altering a part of their body, going through discomfort at mealtimes on the regular, the weight came back. @@x-lobrown7832 Fat shaming and fatphobia is couched in "concerns" about a fat person's health so yeah its all about being offended by fat people daring to be recognized, represented, respected and fighting for their rightful place as _humans_ in society. Fat bigotry is the last acceptable and open form of bigotry in the first world and now that we are speaking up about it, the status quo is trying it's hardest to shut us down with these healthier so called "concerns" most of which has hateful tones. They don't care about health at all but the fact that fat people are becoming more visible and daring to be happy and self confident and not having to lose weight and the status quo can't _stand that_
      Fat acceptance and body positivity is gaining ground in society, especially among younger people, whether you want it to or not. Whether you like it or not. Society is changing to a more compassionate, empathetic paradigm and its not going to be stopped by hateful people.

    • @WeatherMondacicci
      @WeatherMondacicci Před 3 lety +2

      @Sophie Hart But why is it YOUR concern? You dont know this woman and what she does or doesn't do in her life. Further more you dont know her health status yet you ASSUME it due to the bias and bigotry you have been brainwashed into by the media, the diet industry and diet culture. Also even if she is "unhealthy" I dont see you passing judgement on the millions of unhealthy SKINNY people out there who are just as unhealthy as you purport fat people to be if not more so since skinny people are thought and believed to be "healthy" yet type diabetes and other metabolic diseases are on the rise due to something called skinny fat. Thins eat more unhealthy junk food than fat people just look at so.e of the mukbangs on here, yet you would pass on harsh, bigoted judgement on fat people if they did the same.
      No one from any of these movements are trying to "glamorize" or "glorify" obesity. They just want more visibility and representation. They just want the vilification and discrimination to end amd to be treated with dignity and respect like all other humans.
      You are not throwing the health cars here because you are oh so concerned about a fat person's health status. No you believe that the fatties are beneath you and you are afraid that if they gain rights and visibility it means that skinny people are no longer important or superior as they are now and body size would be equalized. It will happen in the future. You are afraid of losing the perch you so enjoy which is the crux behind your concern trolling.
      Again the health of fat people does not matter as thin people can be just, if not more unhealthy, than fat people. Your issue with them is just pure prejudice and hatred which by the way, there is a study that has shown that sizeism is just as prevalent as racism and sexism. Another one states that fat people probably get these diseases because of constant inflammation due to high amounts of cortisol hormones in their bodies to due to their marginalization in society alone. Maybe do some more reading on REAL obesity research and not those that are funded by the diet companies. But I'm sure you won't because being hateful towards fat people increase that dopamine in your brain. Hate is a drug.

It is a fact that excessive weight, lack of exercise and poor diet all lead to major health, mobility and body issues. The only reason Chrissy is not experiencing the "weight" (no pun intended) of any healthy issues yet due to her obesity is she just turned 42 a week ago. Now she is at an age where her health and mobility will start to decline every year she ages. I don't know of you noticed in the last season of "This is Us",a large chunk of her scenes were with her sitting down while other cast members were standing. For her own health and mortality, she needs to lose weight. Also, if she wants to continue as an actress she unfortunately will need to lose weight as roles for her are limited. Yeah, but this is too big but I think it's great that she doesn't hold back when it comes fashion and dressing well for her size. That's a huge plus and says alot about her character because she obviously knows she's massively overweight, I don't think she's that stupid to not actually know that, but she doesn't hide it behind hideous clothes. She just probably has a discipline problem since carbs/sugar is highly addictive after a while. I've heard it can be just as addictive as heroin for some people so fat-shaming won't do anything obviously, but better understanding will.

    • @SilkyShish
      @SilkyShish Před 2 lety

      I agree she is beautiful. But, let's get real here about her weight. She is morbidly obese and has even gotten bigger since the first season of "This is Us". She can barely walk or stand and most of her scenes in the last season have her sitting down while others are standing. She is now age 41 and this is the age where if one does not lose weight and adapt healthier lifestyle choices, they will start having serious weight and poor lifestyle related health issues. I doubt she will live past age 60 if she does not lose this weight. And her acting roles will be limited too.
      As much as we all would love to embrace all body sizes and shapes, comments like mine are not about "fat shaming". We are trying to encourage "good health" and there is NO way she is healthy at this weight. No way.

    I hate her success makes some people and i think herself as well think it is OK to be unhealthy. Morbid obesity is not funny in the end. Ask Ralphie May... oh wait, he is dead. She needs help soon before another great talent is lost. And no I'm not putting her down people. Look up what morbid obesity means. She's there. Her organs are under extremely high stress and can't function like they should. Her heart for one being it is having to pump harder to get the blood to circulate properly.
