This video was created for use at Hilton Hotels to promote the 1984 World's Fair in New Orelans. Also known as the Louisiana World Exposition, the Fair was a fun-filled event that entertained millions during the summer of 1984.

I still have souvenir coffee mugs! I went near the opening and some exhibits were still under construction and not open. The gondola ride over the Mississippi River broke down, and I was stuck in a glass? bubble in the sun and heat with no air comming in (passive air scoop at the top). Yes, fond memories.

Plus, they had to deal with the 84 Olympics in Los Angeles and there had already been a fair in Knoxville two years earlier. Not good planning on the part of Louisiana government.

I guess all the tourists ended up in the Quarter drinking hurricanes and spending money on strippers because the fair went bankrupt before its close. Then again, World's Fair or the fun of the real NOLA?
