  • In 1975 Roy visited and played a concert at the Pentridge Prison, in Australia. This was aired on a music show called Rage last week, they just played a snippet on their show. Thought you Orbison fans outside of Oz would love to see this relic.
During his tours he truly endeared himself to his legion of Oz fans by featuring a version of “Waltzing Matilda” at each show plus playing a special show for what must have been his most captivating audience when he played for prisoners of Pentridge Prison, Melbourne.
When he played Brisbane, which had just suffered a devastating flood, Roy donated his concert fee to the appeal fund which had just been set up. Says a lot about him as an individual as well as a gifted singer, songwriter and musician doesn't it ? OLD TIMES THEY R NOT FORGOTTEN on my YT CHANNEL.

Apart from being an incredible talent, Roy Orbison was a man of genuine class. The world was a better place when Roy was in it. He is missed!

steve green : Yes indeed a small world . in 1980s I was in geelong hospital in Victoria and across the road was geelong prison . At the time mark reed was in the prison . Being a kid it meant very little . As I got into history as an adult it become more . I was working as a jr in a office supply factory in around 1989 / 90 when Roy passed away . His music was played on every radio station nation wide . People really had respect for The big O .
