Could you imagine if both the"lost brothers" were just locked in terra and they finally get out... THAT would be a game changer
I have 2 theories about lost primarchs :
1) they are locked somewhere in the vaults of Terra and guarded by custodes, since they are mutated abominations , because they are the first ones that have been made and of course something went terribly wrong.
2) Second theory (my favorite) Emperor could not have made the primarchs without the help of Erda, but in return she asked two primarchs to be made by her design. Because we know that her vision of humanity did not always align with Emperor's. Plot twist 1: they might not be demi-gods of warrior aspect ,or not just of war aspect like all 20 others are - since war is not the only purpose for humanity and it should not be humanity's only destiny. There are other things that we need like mercy, healing, care of nature , arts, knowledge. That will all come once Crusade is completed. And there needs to be a balance for humanity to thrive. A some destiny beyond endless war, when the time comes to rebuild and grow. To heal. And perhaps there is a special type of Primarch-like being that excels in those things - art, poetry, nature, healing.
Plot twist 2 : they do not have to be male.

Had your fill of Bolter Prons? May I interest you in some Softcore Lasgun instead? Maybe even a bit of Hardcore Chainsword? Fine, that doesn't get you all Hot and Bothered? How about some Twerking Melters? Look, we've even got some "Help Step Brother, I'm an innocent Titan and I got stuck my head stuck under the Bed" if that interests you.
If none of this tickles your fancy, we keep the Slaanesh-y stuff behind that door marked "Airlock"
The closest you can get to that right now would be Chris Wraight's "Emperors Legion" series. Both books in that are great, and one out of the three pov characters is supremely highly placed in the Senatorum Imperialis.
Another excellent guide Brother Baldemort, also makes you think that these are some of arguably the most important people in the setting yet there's not a huge amount of lore written about them.
Gotta give them credit. Never had a group had so much influence on a setting without having but a handful of actual appearances in all the medias.
Well, one has to figure that their lifespans are so short in comparison to all that is going on that the individual person holding the role probably doesn't mean all that much. It really is the seat and title that matters. Plus-- the things they deal with should be so far from the action the stories should be focusing on, that it can't help but feel shoe-horned in whenever they appear.

what an absolute banger, the closing statement about their betrayal of The Avenging Son was so powerful and really brought home the sheer ridiculousnes of the imperium.
Great summation of a hugely complex topic! It is very easy to belittle and meme on the High Lords, but the sheer fucking weight of the smallest matter they deal with.... These beings rule so vast domains and holds such vast powers it strains the mind. Consider this; Every major High-Lord owns fortresses, armies, spy-agencies and much more. They are Grand Kings of galaxy-wide domains, who each represent something crucial to the Empires existence.
Yes, an empire must have an Emperor of course, but it must also be ruled by many Kings, and those Kings must rule over many lesser houses. It is so.

Big shout out to Jeremy Jahns and his latest video about Henry Cavill bringing Warhammer to the screen, as he recommended you in high regard and I had to come to your channel immediately and I got to say it's one of the easiest subscriptions I have ever made, absolutely love what I have seen so far and looking forward to go through all your content so far and what is yet to come.

Thank you for the excellent lore content as always brother. You really push across how disconnected the High Lords are from even such people as planetary governors and the like in their power and ambition. It's amazing really that with so few people being able to make certain decisions and authorize the use of certain assets that anything gets done at all, and that the Imperium has not totally collapsed from just delays in the paperwork process.

I do like the concept of the High Lords, and echo that I think they should be expanded upon. Let's see the point of a minor senator trying to court one of the Twelve, and stay in good ordure.
Then again, I would also like to see the Nova Terra Interregnum expanded on. An entire quarter of the Galaxy rebels, Chapters upon Chapters are deployed, it lasts Throne knows how long, and all we know is that it's "eventually supressed". BAH!
There are so many eras of the Imperium that are very unexplored, we only know era 41/42nd millenium, and a very basic outlook of the Age of Apostasy, but that's about it.
Books set in the cusp of the Imperium, the moment when the Ministorum started to rise but where the Imperial Truth was still very much the primordial law would be very interesting : clash of epic proportion between the two camps, which I'm certain happend at some point or another.

Yes, I'm aware, Guilliman had to deal with some of the High Lords refusing to acknowledge his rule but think about it from their perspective : Guilliman was, for all intent and purposes, thought to be dead or dying in stasis. And then suddenly, he appear with a bunch of eldars in toe, and they are supposed to be certain of both facts that he is:
1) The real guilliman (and not some clone or regular space marine with some secret enhancements)
2) Not corrupted either by chaos or by the eldars
Not to mention that guilliman by becoming Lord Commander kind of disregarded his own edicts as well as those of the Emperor, at least in spirit, that aimed at preventing marines and primarchs from gaining too much political power.
