Other than the fact that Herb is a great reviewer (which I knew) this piece gave me insight into why we so seldom read bad reviews of products, especially in Stereophile. It makes sense, but I've never heard it explained like this before.
I love the music at the start of the video. What is it called? I am not really an audiophile because my home is not very soundproof. so to listen to music I have to wear headphones or have Jazz FM on. In the U.K. most people have satellite TV with that you can pick up the Radio stations that broadcast on satellite. So I can play Jazz FM on my TV. When reviewing any product the best reviews are from people who have lived with and used the product for a wile/long time. You get to know the product better and everything it can do. It takes Herb a while to fully grasp, sometimes it takes regular use of a product for anyone to fully grasp everything a product can do or if it still works in the say way after longterm use. It's good that Herd reread his work to see how it sounds in his mind when he reads it back. I hope everyone appreciates the time and effort that goes into writing a review. Herb is the best reviewer IMHO. No one gives a better 'picture' of sound than he. And no one writes with such...joy. Thanks, Ken, for getting us inside the head of someone who's a true genius. Wonderful stuff.

Add to that, that most real manufacturers who do R&D, invest money and build on a successful history, don't make truly bad products.
