My fav group Band* since 1972, until now ❤❤❤❤❤❤ from Indonesia *****
Yesssssssss free definitely does the best version of crossroads it's March 6th 2024 and I'm just seeing this and listening to it? Where the hell have I been? Well I'm here now thank God! 🙏 RIP to those who are no longer with us in their time they were badass! ❤❤❤
For some reason they didn’t film them for the encore never heard this it’s absolutely sensational.
All 20 and under incredible and I don’t care who people throw at me their has never been a better British rock and blues singer that Rodgers.
Paul Rogers singing like his soul depended on it, and maybe it did!!! He still has one of the greatest voices in blues rock, I just love his voice!!! Rock on Paul, Rock On!'
four guys(young guys) playing music from the soul ,raw , briliant
this music will NEVER die
..the more I listen to this concert I am
moved by the historicalness of this...
yes, THE Isle of Wight ( 1970 ) w/ Hendrix,
Ten Years After, The Who, Taste, etc...
but, again, THIS band...FREE....wow !...
imagine: plywood, steel griders, lots of
electrical cables, lots of canvas covers,
250, 000 devotees in the middle of wind-swept land by the sea.....and THIS awesome sublime R & B music....
...Fantastic !!!
i listen to this jam almost everyday I log
on to CZcams....it grows on you.....again,
a band in its truest essence...MUSIC
first...mimimal theatrics, no fireworks
or gigantic props....just R & B, rock and
jamming during this entire concert....
I am very grateful to be able to enjoy
this music....thank God it was recorded !
......thanks a million, midgiecoo
De las mejores voces de la historia del Rock: Paul Rodgers y la espectacular guitarra de un monstruo llamado Paul Kossof. Lamentablemente muerto muy joven. Grandisima banda Free!
I bet Clapton winces when he hears this!
Nice and raw. Always liked them.
Rough as hell, and magical with it.
well done mate and their music is still excellent to this day!! love them
Great song 🔥
solid 3peice drum kit, ploddy funky bass, sublime flawless guitar playing with THAT amazing vibratto sound only koss could do and the clearest voice in rock music and all of them still only 20 and under at the time. safe to say 1970 Isle Of Wight belonged to Free. once again my pleasure Sam4 and music lovers all over earth.
yeah man...
Sometimes Andy Frasers bass almost sounds like a tuba. I think it's cool.
@dudestr5552 - Free forever (2006) - it's widely available - it's on Amazon.
Some compare Free to Cream, but as you can hear, they were quite different in their approach to playing.
@Moodylawless - it's available as a bonus CD on a DVD
As a twenty year-old guitarist: GODDAMN DO I SUCK!
actually my nephew sent it to me cos he knew i would love it!! you might like to have a look at his site. it's excellent.( ... hunky dory2)
Midge where you gettin it from hes the man obscure i.o.wight free. fed up of the standard tunes ie mr big all right now loving it m8.w.
@dudestr5552 - it's a mixture of DVD and CD - the three songs that survived are on DVD - the rest is audio
sorry my mistake. it's actually hunkydorey2 (using an e in dorey)
Wow, thanks for this! Where'd it come from?
Im not sure who had the better voice, either Paul Rodgers or James Dewar
Great Comment.
This slow version of this song is my favorite. In live sessions, the picking guitar of Paul Kossoff is uncomparable, as like as all band soundung.
ain't there any bootleg from Black Widow playing on the Isle of Wight 1970?
I don't think this slow funk groove version works as well as Cream's fast shuffle swing Fillmore Wheels version but I still like it nevertheless.
