Amy left an estate worth nearly £5m which was roughly halved by the time various debts were taken care of. She died unmarried, no kids, intestate (i.e. she didn't have a will) which under England and Wales law meant her parents could apply for probate (which it seems they did) and get a 50-50 split of her assets.
She was much wealthier earlier in life (some estimates say in excess of £10m) although it was sadly squandered on drugs and booze. Paul Gascoigne used to be worth north of £30m but now he's barely surviving.
Bear in mind that Amy was 27 (i.e. young), massively talented and making a recovery with strong potential for the future. There was every chance she would have stayed on the wagon, continued knocking out bangers and earned herself even more money. Had she lived she would be 40 years old right now and that's decades of work and earning potential if she'd wanted it.
The house she bought in 2010 was expensive and would be worth even more today, but it was sold privately around 2012 or thereabouts.

I've read Mitch's book about Amy. He truly tried to help her and Amy went to rehab 3 to 4 times in her life. It didn't work. She was hospitalized many times. It didn't work. They tried to distract her with work so she can have something else to do other than drink everyday and that didn't help either. Amy was the only person that had the power to stop. She just didn't want to do it. It's sad how people blame him on everything. Amy was her own person. No matter how much they tried to help her she couldn't fight it. Addiction took her. As an ex alcoholic myself, if my father forced me to go to rehab I would yell against it. The only person that can help yourself is.. well yourself. People judging on the internet when they don't know half the truth or they don't know anything about addiction. It's sad.

Although Mitch's actions frustrates me, I can't truly blame him. To get the full scope of Amy's problems you'd have to start with her parents. Janis has spoken about how she had a mother that was emotionally absent and she then went on to marry someone like that. She also was lack big time as a disciplinary. I'm almost positive Mitch went through something dysfunctional in his life that shaped his actions in adulthood, especially how he handled his affair just assuming Amy was over it. The walls he has up is sooo thick and he's gonna always have them because he's always going to be in mourning. He lost his child, period. Her parents simply did not have the capacity to help her. Emotionally absent Mother, emotionally neglectful father created an emotionally unstable child who ended up with an emotionally abusive man that got her hooked on heroin.

It’s very easy to judge. Amy loved her Dad and she loved Blake. They were the two men in her life and both of them were bloody selfish buggers at times. I believe with hindsight they both have regrets and wish they hadn’t done certain things. A fitting solution would be if Mitch could make hi s peace with Blake and tell him if he got clean there would be a position as a counsellor at the Amy Foundation. I think Ms Winehouse would be so proud of both of them if that happened.
I know Blake was less than perfect but she did love him. Mitch had his faults too, yet Amy saw far beyond d them.

Or Mitch, you could have tried to help your daughter, instead of exploiting her.

Oh look at him all fancy looking, posh and pimped out. Eating well I see, must be going good mr cab driver.
Despite Amy’s alcohol and drug situation she also dealt with failed support from her family.
This is just my opinion based on observation and I know im not the only one who feels this way.
I feel Mitch was so caught up in the fame of his daughter he neglected to put her emotional and physical well-being first.
It’s clear that he was willing to allow that pain and suffering on his daughter to make the headlines and generate the media attention and publicity he so loves.
    Camera crew at St.Lucia ???
Amy was able to try and recover herself without all the media pressure and lack of family support there, she had friends who had her best interest at heart and Mitch took that from her.
Why did he think Amy was good to go do that “last show” where she totally failed to deliver?
Imagine being that passionate and reliving heartache every time you sing your songs while watching the crowd cheer and have a good time at your brokenness.
How did this make her feel?
That’s why she drank so much, she didn’t want to feel that pain.
She needed better support and some time out to get herself together again but she wasn’t allowed that, “we” wanted to see her fall. At least people are are talking about it.
I hope those responsible, - those who pretend to care - lay awake at night…
    RIP Dear Amy.
