Red Dead Redemption 2 is a Western-themed action-adventure video game developed and published by Rockstar Games. The game is a prequel to the 2010 game Red Dead Redemption, and the third entry in the Red Dead series. Set in 1899, it follows the story of outlaw Arthur Morgan, a member of the Van der Linde gang. After a botched ferry heist, Dutch van der Linde and his gang, which includes Arthur Morgan and a young John Marston, are forced to flee their hideout in Blackwater and attempt to cross the mountains west to evade law enforcement. In order to fund their escape, Dutch has the gang rob a train belonging to the wealthy oil magnate Leviticus Cornwall. A furious and vengeful Cornwall then hires the Pinkerton Detective Agency, who send Agents Milton and Ross to apprehend the gang. As a result, the gang is forced to be constantly on the move to stay one step ahead them. All the while, Morgan and the rest of the gang continually have to perform numerous jobs and heists to keep the gang funded as Dutch continually promises one last, big heist that will secure their freedom.

Once, I broke a window in Valentine's hotel and when I came back, a maid was cleaning the corridor with a broom from the pieces of glass. Crazy!

Incredible how the criminal mentioned that Arthur killed two bounty hunters to steal him from them, even a regular npc has a memory!
If you caused trouble in a town, the next time or two you visit, the towns people will comment on it. Example:
“Haven’t you cause enough trouble?”
If you fight that loud mouth mountain man from Valentine’s saloon (Jon) and steal his raccoon hat, the next time you come to Valentine wearing his hat and walk around down the main road, he will find you and try to get pay back.
@@eds1942 also you can injury NPCs and they'll have bandages and such for around a week and then be healed afterwards but will remember what you did and not like you being near them , shop owners will threaten you to get your shit and get out and don't cause more trouble

Two or three times it was because I accidentally shot them, and freaken autosave decided to save right then and I hadn’t made a manual save in hours, so I had to live with it. Another time was in my last playthrough when I first visited Valentine after the Cornwall attack, every shop owner was bandaged up and upset with me...

IanDaYz Not even remotely true. I shot two guys in the valentine saloon, went to the other end of valentine and almost jumped off a cliff. I came back and the bodies were still there, marked on the map with x’s.
Notice the prisoner snitching on Arthur about him killing two men just to bring him in? Love this game.

Not only will the oil wagons leave a flammable trail, but if a hole is shot into the wagon the oil will stop spilling when the fluid inside is no longer above the hole that is shot. You can test this by angling the wagon upward or downward on a hill and noticing that the oil will only spill if the liquid inside is angled above the hole.
I was just wondering if it worked that way or not, should've known it does it's a great game.
I believe this detail/mechanic was carried over from GTA Vs singleplayer.

I'm just going to ramble for a while and this will be raw thought no rough draft or anything so don't expect any rhyme or reason for when I talk about what. Oh and expect grammar mistakes. And keep in mind this is just a brain vomit not any kind of real argument.
I know no one will care at all but I don't know where else to put this and its been in my head forever (don't really care if any one reads this I just wanted to get it out of my head so imma talk about some of the ways that Just Cause 4 (while having some good ideas) was worse than 3 and talk about some ways it could be better as well as some things that 3 and/or 4 (I'm not quite sure what the entirety of what Ill be talking about is so I'll just type until I stop, currently I have 1 reason and I'm pretty sure it'll stay that way but don't know also also I won't be talking about the traversal system because lets be honest every game would be better if you could use the grapple hook parachute wingsuit combo) in my opinion did better than GTA V. Yeah so to start the water in 4 is terrible compared to 3 (They probably put more time into 3's water because there's so much of it ,yes that is an insult and a complement) I mean the water has all these huge waves and in 4 its just all gone, It's like God of War 4 while a beautiful game it had pretty terrible looking water. Actually I want to talk about a couple of things I think it did better than 3 first, the new enemy's great ,the new weather/biomes awesome, but I especially like all the art on the liberated vehicles more than 3, almost all the weapons having a secondary fire as well as just the sheer amount of new weapons Amazing. This is just bias or something but I think the way you take over towns in 3 is much better than 4 idk I guess for some unknown reason I like the repetitive go to place destroy everything in that place go to next place (out of everything I think that is the hottest of takes here), honestly I think the explosion's in 3 were better especially the gas station explosions in 3 its like a bunch of huge bombs went off each bigger than the last in 4 there are more explosion's but there all smaller compared to 3's, okay so the front lines idea is amazing I just think that it should have been moved by each freed town/city/base/really anything that can be liberated not each free providence or county or whatever and honestly whenever 5 comes out I hope they implement it again. another thing is just cause went from 3 having a pretty terrible final boss to 4 having the general come over to your side and killing the dictator in a cutscene no final boss fight at all which was really disappointing, in 4 100%ing the game was somehow more frustrating than 3 although that is my fault for even trying in the first place. Okay last thing I think Just cause 3 and maybe 4 ( its been a while so I don't remember) did better than GTA V. In my opinion 3 (again I don't remember if 4 did this so I'll just say 3) has the best five star police system in any game. I like how even if you have five stars(while very difficult) as long as you prevent the police from calling reinforcements they will stop coming and you can stop all of them and lose the heat, but in GTA even if you have two stars the police are just relentless and will keep coming and coming and there's just this infinite amount that never stopes and to escape them I always have to go out into the middle of nowhere and prey a helicopter doesn't find me and its just so annoying.

I'm really impressed they wrote dialogue for the bounty target, incase the player killed the previous bounty hunters.
Same, I was pretty shocked by that. The amount of work that had to go into the dialogue alone in this game.
And they recorded many variations of the same dialogues if you are close or far from the people you're talking to. So when they are farther away Arthur will yell and so on.

2017 was saved because the Nintendo Switch was released with Zelda: BOTW and Mario: Odyssey. 2018 was saved due to God of War, Spiderman, Monster Hunter: World and RDR2. Hopefully we get another title as detailed as Witcher 3 or RDR2 in the next couple of years.

Everything about this game is amazing, it’s the only game I play nowadays 😂 and I’m still finding more details to this day.
Alright, so for about 4 years I've been looking for a specific environment in video games. I've been looking for the perfect Sunny Forest, with beautiful sun rays piercing the trees and some large stones in the ground. Far Cry 5 did it well, and so did BOTW, but they never felt REAL. RDR2 blows those out of the water and makes the forests absolutely beautiful and they make them feel truly real. 10/10.

@@notanagger4861 Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I don't think the story is boring. I think it has a mature tone to it and even though it isn't as fast paced as most would come to expect from games normally, it does have a deep impact with good enough character development to make you care and empathize with the characters; especially Arthur Morgan. In my opinion, the story is very well suited for a western and I think it is well delivered. The game isn't perfect, no game is, and I do agree that the controls do feel sluggish especially with the character movement and not responsive enough at times because Rockstar was trying to make the character move more realistically as opposed to the usual unrealistic character movement we are used to in most games but I think they could have done a way better job with that. That is something I hope they'll improve on in the next game. There seems to be a delay between when you command the character to move and when he actually does respond to that command.
Ocelot4R i agree with u. Im just someone who likes fast pace gameplay . My dad on the other hand (he doesnt invest as much time as me into video games) he sees it more like a time were he can relax and enjoy the story while also taking part in it. So he loves the game and is not so into fast pace styled gameplay. So i geuss its just a matter of personal preference. Dont get me wrong tho, i love rdr2 and enjoy all of my time playing it! The storyline just isnt for me.

Arthur calls himself an Idiot, if the player forgets to put bait on the fishing rod. Arthur is basically calling me an Idiot. Also in an enemy compound, if you near the guards, they will ask you to leave. On pressing Defuse continously, Arthur does a 4th wall breaker dialogue saying "I have no idea why I'm finding pleasure in this", laughing at the guard. Also whenever Arthur eats/drinks something, his throat has the swallowing animation where it moves up and down. Also , the overall conversations in the camp is something which i really like. Some of them were unecssaay, but Rockstar took the time and added these lines even though there's a high chance that the player won't trigger it.

(Including individual body parts) So if their head is still above water.. putting a hole in it will make them take on water & go under.

@@jc.8112 yes actually I've testes it only one time, there was a guy near valentine who was trying to rape a girl, he startes to punch her... it's a random encounter so the game doesn't tell you nothing... so I hog tie him and I had the beautiful idea to bring him to the sceriff, and it actually worked... so I guess that's not the only random encounter where you can do that

ChickenMemeG yeah same here this games really well done. They have to fix a few bugs here and there. The witness system could use a touch up same with the wanted system. It would be cool if you slept in a hotel that bounty hunters would show up asking about you at the front desk. Little things like that would put this game even more over the top. Still it’s a crime if this game doesn’t earn GOTY. Poss of the the decade.
I found out that the clouds actually form around the mountains so in a rainstorm you can see pockets of blue sky by the peeks of the mountains
