love how you're not afraid to put the pedal down, some people don't know how to get out the way in new york.
For keeping with the lead motorcoach and getting the tail past intersections, yes. Otherwise, dropping the pedal is reckless in cities
Absolutely. Knowing the balance between flow and recklessness is an important factor in city driving. Also, knowing your own limits in skillset is great to have.
That part he knows his bus and makes it happen I notice good job on driving filming and surviving
When Eugene uploads, you stop whatever you’re doing. Another excellent video as always!
awesome driving boss man, I use to drive for Megabus when they first started around 2008. I do not miss those NYC drives to Boston or NYC to DC runs. I now live out west driving for a small california city for their transit authority and absolutely love it.
What Transit Agency?
Sonoma transit, Ac, Santa Cruz,? I would love to go to California and Washington state and Oregon, let's just say west coast, never been there.
@@mtanyctrainatlantamartatra7164 Retired 2020 NYCT Bus operator former 126st / Mother Clara Depot I been to C.A. A.Z. N.V 12 times knows area pretty good not WA & OR. any questions ask me. you will love the driving is not like NYC - many open spaces. people in L.A. say traffic is bad but you going 35mph steady instead of 5 mph stop & go FDR DR.
Stumbled on this video so I subscribe. 0:13 - 0:25 Looking all the way left & behind bus, people don't realize how dangerous this turn is - stupid people like to sneak in last second or walk angle toward front of bus. These MCI sure looks smooth like an old Cadillac. 4:30 11 O'clock Old Greyhound Depot now Quill Depot where I got my CDL in 87. Thanks for the tour. retired nyct bus operator.
I hear ya NY is beautiful the traffic is so insane! It take you 10 minutes just to get 2 miles 😭😭😭 but you always do the best POV I appreciate it and love it
Yep! It is!
HES BACK WITH ANOTHER BANGER!!!! 💯💯💯🗣️🗣️🗣️
Wow today's buses look like a lot of fun to drive. Wish I could drive again.
Much respect for you. Wow that tunnel seemed very narrow. Great ride a long.. motorcoach operator was my dream job.
lmaoooo glad to see your enjoying my city. cool to see a video like this, not many POV bus driving vids in the city. good shit.
Appreciate you always.
YOU'RE BACK 🎉🎉🎉❤
Good to hear some newer buses are still powered by Detroit Diesel. I miss the DD50 engines in our city buses back in the day
Fine job Eugene, wow that double parking makes it tuff to squeeze the coach through.
Awesome! I’ve done San Francisco but this looks like a whole different level of insanity!
Totally love how you kept your cool, despite being cut off and pedestrians walking infron totally oblivious that a bus is waiting for them to pass so he can be on his way. Kudos to you sir! And I totally love the sound of that Allison transmission
Having had driven on a university campus for a few years before COVID, my patience with pedestrians is rock solid lol. If there is a place other than a dense city that has a lot of pedestrians, it's a college campus.
I don't drive busses but this was cool to watch! I live in NYC, so I understand the nightmare of driving on the streets of Manhattan
Did a practice road test for Class A the other day and I almost threw a fit. NYC is chaos. People parked in the road everywhere, sometimes on both sides. Drivers cutting you off. People speeding around you because youre trying to be careful. It's maddening. I can't wait to move out of here.
¡Dude, esto es hermoso y ojala buen trabajo pra ti hermando, mas adelante hare algo para ustedes!
Anyone driving in nyc goodness y'all have patience and skills you gotta have it ,nyc is the ultimate test to driving skills I assume ,test you on all levels every second 🤣
3:08 he hit the truck 😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😝😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Wish we drove J4500s we drive those damn CX45 vanhools
Pretty uneventful getting out of there. Nice vid
Did you take the Lincoln tunnel or the GW bridge
That's amazing how you get a birds eye view on the screen. I thought driving in London was bad to hell with driving one in nyc, how long is the coach? We have 15metre long with rear axle steering too
i wonder if MCI D series have similar driving feels
8:30 woke up this morning and got yourself a gun.
It have been a while Eugene
was this your final video with maryland or did you return to Maryland?
I still work there, with a part time contract. I'll pick up charters at my leisure! DASH is my main job.
@@eugew23 ahh okay
how does that top view work on the dashboard
cameras on all sides film the floor and then a picture of the bus is simply placed in the middle to create the illusion of a top view, which makes it easier to comprehend for the driver
Correct
Did that car hit the bus at 9:45?
Do you drive full time? I recently got my CDL-B with passenger and school bus endorsements and drive for a charter company part time.
I used to for the University of Maryland. I only do charters part time now.
@@eugew23 NYCT Transit needs Bus Operators think they still hiring. better benefits / pension & more $$$ than charter / school. $ 60,000 first year after 5 you probably can make $130,000 + if you like to hustle. I retired 2020 Feb right before Covic & work O/T made $134,000 gross 2023 to pad my pension.
@@masonloh1411 Thing is, he probably don't want to get shot and spit on at work though.
Cool video but why are the mirrors so zoomed in lol
Omg your fans love you!!!!!
✌🏾
All I can say from living here is the roads are ridiculous but somehow they work. I don’t get it 😂
Hold on babe Eugene posted a new video
Get outta here
Is that a coach bus?
noooooo it's a honda civic
That safety system is really aggressive about following distance
It is aggressively annoying, not to even mention the speed limit warning warning. Really hampers the experience on these newer buses.
Yeah driving through NYC is not my fave thing to do. When I go visit family I generally avoid going through city which I normally can avoid. Once awhile I have to go into edge of city just by staying on highway. One year I had to drive down to Glen Island park in New Rochelle just on edge of city for COVID testing since I came from Chicago to visit families during Christmas. Thankfully I was tested negative on Christmas Eve and I didn’t have to quarantine for 7 days. It was a mess driving in new Rochelle and it took me two hours to go though the line.
Do you hate driving through NYC, or?
I'm sure he loves it and hates it clearly in video looks like you have to stay in your toes every minute
People are such jerks in NYC, I know, born and raised in NYC and still live here.
That silver car towards the end is either new in the area or just a nervous driver. They kept going slow and I think they were trying to let people in from that on ramp just after the tunnel. those type of drivers just gets on my nerves at times.
We had to MCI J4500s and soled them for vanhools thay drive very junky
“Getting the hell out of NYC”? 🤨
