The part with Tommy's mom was the directors real mom and she just winged it the whole conversation wasn't even scripted
Yeah, like MJ said, they don 't sound like they're reading a script. She was right.
Please do Casino or Bronx Tale next. Similar cast but different plots. All are great
Bronx Tale for sure
@@Bcbfantasybooking MJ would definitely FW it. The message is too good
💯
Both great. Casino has better replay value imo
This is a great film but i just can't like anybody but Pauly and he gets screwed over in the end. Casino to me is just so much better and i love Joe in that movie more.
Awhile ago I watched a CZcams video explaining the reason why Tommy was the only one punished for killing Billy Batts and Jimmy was spare. The reason Jimmy went along with the murder is because of a racket. Before Batts went to prison, he owned a successful a racket. When Batts went to prison, Jimmy took over the racket. When Batts got out of prison he demanded that Jimmy hand the racket back over to him but Jimmy didn't want to because he was making good money off the racket so he decided to killed him to keep it.
The reason that Jimmy was spare is because he was what the Mafia called a good earner. It's tradition that when you in the mob, whatever you doing to make money either pimping, slinging, stealing or whatever, you got to kick some of that money upstairs to the higher ups and that's what Jimmy been doing to the point that he became one of their good earners. According to the real life Henry Hill, Batts was friends with this big time gangster named John Gotti and he knew that it was Jimmy and Tommy who killed Batts and he wanted them dead but the higher ups refused to let him touch Jimmy because he was a good earner and they figure that killing Jimmy would mean losing their big income. They wanted to keep Jimmy as a happy good earner which is the reason why they protected Tommy as well because they knew that they were friends but over time Tommy was starting to become a liability by killing people unnecessarily. When Henry Hill was in prison, Tommy tried to r-word his wife, Karen who was having an affair with Paulie and when Karen told Paulie what Tommy tried to do, he was furious and decided that Tommy have gone to far and he got to go. So he picked up the phone, called John Gotti and the Gambino family and gave them the green light to kill Tommy but on the condition that Jimmy is not to be touched. According to the real life Henry Hill, Gotti personally killed Tommy by having him tortured to death.
I see you did your research too huh. Tommy was such a loose cannon.
Nice explanation. Now go home and get yer shine box.
I heard bats was also John Gottis good friend so he was itching to get him.
in real life, tommy was alot worse. he was actually killed in the way shown but it was for trying to rape henrys wife karen who was having an affair with paulie
He was also a 200-something pound giant behemoth, with a small mustache. So he was definitely bloody with his hands.
Yea that man was terrible
wrong completely wrong and Tommy DeSimone's body was never found.. the order of the hit came from the Gambino Family over the death of Billy Bats who was connected with John Gotti's crew and i can tell you for sure he was not killed like they showed either....and that's all i'm going to say on the subject.
In the real life story Karen started sleeping with Pauly while Henry was in jail lol. It really was a competition 🤣
The real life Jimmy wasn’t as loveable as Robert Deniro. He was ruthless and the documentary tells a story about how he put an infant in a freezer and froze the baby to death because they guy owed him money. He made him listen to the baby cry in the freezer
Robert DeNiro is a dumbass in real life. Not as lovable as you think.
He also completely mutilated an ex boyfriend of one of his wives.
lol
A lot of the documentaries I’ve seen over the years agree this is just the movie like most “gangster” movies it was much worse in real life. Not glamorous at all.
@@bigmikem1578 Oh hell yeah. Tommy wasn't a lil man with a big chip either. Dude was damn near Dwayne Johnson's size. You know.. pre roids. Lol
Goodfellas is definitely a classic. What a movie to truly kick off the 90’s. I mean this one definitely helped usher in the decade, with many other movies attempting to replicate and capture the tone of this film.
Pesci was a National treasure of this era. This movie along with Home Alone and the Lethal Weapon franchise established him as a versatile actor who had great range. He ended up winning an Oscar for this and it was well deserved.
Btw In real life Henry Wife ended up cheating on Henry with Paulie 😬
13:08
...It probably actually was faster taking that route. There was a line, a host had to find them a table, and they'd have to wade through a crowd of people who all personally knew Henry, he'd have to stop and greet. But, most importantly this is one of the greatest "one shots" in cinematic history.
It's one of the hottest NY restaurants. A regular guy would probably have to wait hrs to get in without reservations
Did you see that line? He would probably still be waiting to get in now if he hadn’t got the special entrance. 😂
Fun fact: Tommy Mom is played by Martin Scorsese’s mom(the director). She cooked the food for all of the scenes as well.
Here's another vote for "A Bronx Tale".
My favorite movie of all time. I remember the first time I watched it, I couldn’t believe how fast it went by, this movie truly grabs your attention the entire film.
Henry laughs like that because he doesn't really want to be there. He's terrified all the time, but doesn't know any other way to live. So he ends up being a drunk and coked-out maniac to handle it. Tommy and Jimmy are pure evil and constantly joke about hits they did, people they killed for no reason. That dinner scene is him trying to stop himself from breaking out running.
One of my favourite movies of all time
Ive heard it put like this.... If Godfather is about Napoleon, Goodfellas is about a solider in Napoleon's army.
You may have missed it. When Tommy walked in the room and saw the floor covered in plastic, he knew 😮
@@danieljohnson2005 Nonesense. They could have been late. I am going with the floor COvered with plastic.
Henry Hill really laughed like that. He would even laugh over you if you were talking crap or even threatening him ....
Henry Hill was a Gaslighting King! "Karen, don't worry. Karen! Karen, you're paranoid. Nothing's going to happen." 😂
Please react to other insane true story Martin Scorsese films: The Wolf of Wall Street & Casino.
Goodfellas, My Cousin Vinny, and Casino cemented Joe Pesci’s greatness in my eyes. I always thought Home Alone was a step down for him but maybe it’s more of him showing his range. It’s just hard to see him in that role when he was sociopath in 2 movies
Don’t forget Raging Bull
Na you tweaking he killed his role in home alone he was perfect duo with the other dude
He made Home Alone shortly after filming this and had a real problem holding back the f-bombs around the children in the cast.
Another movie to consider is American Gangster(2007) starring Denzel Washington and it’s loosely based on True Story.
Tommy's mom was played by director Martin Scorsese's mom.
According to the real life Henry, Tommy was wayyy worse in real life compared to his movie counterpart, which they had to water down. Imagine that movie Tommy is actually less unhinged then the real life Tommy was 😂
Yeah. If you read the book the movie is based on “Wiseguys” you’ll see the real Tommy was even more fkd up than the movie one. The mob tolerated having guys like Tommy in their ranks because they did alot of dirty work for them and sometimes made them a lot of money. They would often dispose of them once they became too much of a liability though.
Seriously lol the dude was a nutjob
Oh yeah. If you read the book the movie if based on “Wiseguys “ they tell you alot of crazy stuff about Tommy. Both he and Jimmy had a tendency to sometimes do even worse stuff than you see in the movie.
Seems like a funny guy....
"Goodfellas" is a masterpiece. Pure cinematic genius.
top shelf milk on display
"You're only out early because I got you a job." That is the line that Henry ratted Paulie out on in court that got him sent away He was sentenced to ten, He got out on parole in four because Paulie got him a no-show job.
RIP Ray Liotta & Paul Sorvino.😢
and Frank Vincent
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
They were laughing at Tommy outta nervousness, he was basically letting everybody know he aint the one to play with…that was nervous laughter..lol
Rip Paul Sorvino and Ray Liotta. Liotta especially shined in this movie!
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
When they say he's getting made that means he's going to be officially part of the crew At first they were just associates
Your reaction to goodfellas was incredible you are killing these movie reactions 🔥🔥🔥🔥👑🐐
If you liked this…omg you’re gonna love A Bronx Tale☺️🔥💯
Fun Fact at 54:38 That guy playing the prosecutor who put Henry Hill in witness protection ED McDonald, was Henry Hill's actual federal prosecutor.
That scene when they sat down for late dinner with Tommy’s mother was almost completely improvised. And the lady who played Tommy’s mom was Martin Scorsese’s mother.
And all they told her is that, “your son and friends arrived and you make them dinner.” They didn’t tell her that they had a body in the trunk.
"You take a $200 case of booze and you sell it for $100. Doesn't matter, it's all profit."
"I don't know if that's entirely profit..."
It is when you never paid for any of it in the first place.
ahhhhh take it take it
Casino, please?
This is all based on the word of Henry Hill, and, the most important thing to remember about him is, he was a drug addict, and, a rat. So, his word shouldn't be taken as absolute truth.
I still can't believe I never watched this movie before! Great reaction girl 🥹💜
R.I.P To Some Of The Actors Who We're In This Movie,Are No Longer With Us, Still Miss You All, Great Movie, Great Cast, Great Performances By Everyone In This Movie & Great Reaction To This Great Classic Movie Sweetheart
I can't believe this is your first reaction I've caught before I got my smoke session in 😂 every other time I've been finished
I feel like every woman who watches this movie for the first time... Is always way more upset that Henry is cheating on his wife, than he is out there murdering people.... LOL.
Henry doesn’t kill anyone in the movie does he?
😂
MY FAVORITE MOVIE EVERRRR🔥❤️❤️
It was mostly cause of the guy they killed in Henry’s bar he was a made member but either way Tommy was a loose cannon
Remember Pauline was sleeping with Henry’s wife. And Tommy got killed because he tried to r word her.
54:27 - I hope you listened to that bit because it clarified your question - Jimmy asked Henry to go to Florida to do "a hit" - This is something Henry had NEVER BEEN ASKED TO DO BEFORE! THAT'S HOW HE KNEW IT WAS SET UP TO KILL HIM! Like he says before in the film "your murderers come with smiles..."
55:20 - this is what good comes from reading into the real story! People slag off Henry Hill for snitching but Paulie Vario was having an affair with his wife and Tommy tried to rape his wife!!! - MATE - IF HENRY WAS A MADE GUY TOMMY AND PAULIE WOULD BE KILLED FOR MESSING AROUND WITH A MADE GUYS WIFE! And I don't blame Henry ONE IOTA FOR TESTIFYING! ALL THESE KEYBOARD WARRIORS CALLING HIM A RAT...Ok...let me and someone else have an affair/rape your wife...BUT MATE DON'T SNITCH ON US! 😅 Mate...If I tried something as disgusting as that...I would expect to be snitched on! As a MINIMUM!
Yes and honestly there was no real loyalty and morality with these kind of people
Did anyone else notice who was in the room while they were whacking Tommy? Tuddy Cicero, Paul's brother, which means Paulie told the Gambinos that Tommy Whacked Batts.
Tommy deserved it he cost paulie to much at that point bringing unwanted attention
@de_lontekk8019 yup. Tommy almost r*ped Karen while Henry was in jail but she was already sleeping with Paulie. That's why he told The Gambinos it was Tommy. I think John Gotti was present but wasn't the shooter. Others say it was Jimmy The Gent Burke kuz he was whacking everyone that was involved in the Lufthansa Heist.
Fun fact: The scene with Tommy's mother, where you said the dialogue felt unscripted; well that scene had no script lol, all improvisaton. And the old lady was the directors mom, not an actress.
Vinny Asaro, who was a captain in the Bonanno family who oversaw their interests in JFK airport back in the day, was the only person ever indicted for the Lufthansa heist. He was indicted in 2014 when he was a really old man. I was with him in MDC Brooklyn back in 2014 before I was transferred after my sentencing. He went to trial but he beat the case. They also dropped the charges of ordering a hit on a judge, but they wanted to lock him up for ANYTHING. So they got him on some bullsh!t arson charge, but he had a stroke while awaiting sentencing. So they finally let him go, and he died soon after. He was definitely a colorful character who was larger than life. I loved just listening to his stories. He had them for days.😂 A good guy.
Idlewild is JFK Airport in Queens. The mob was everywhere in NY growing up. Henry lived a couple of towns over. My neighbors were connected and my friends dad. My uncle worked at JFK and let things slide. They were good guys if you didn’t have a problem with them. They would tend to help you out before hurting you
Please react to A Bronx Tale.
Great reaction as always! I’d recommend watching The Irishman (2019). It has De Niro, Pesci & Pacino in their more recent older years. It’s a pretty long movie but the acting is *chef’s kiss*
Enjoyed your reaction! Goodfellas is director Martin Scorsese's Masterpiece film! Fun fact Martin Scorsese put his parents in the movie. His mother played Tommy's mother. And his father was the old guy in prison with huge glasses who put too many unions in the meatballs. He also was one of the guys who killed Tommy lol. BTW Samuel L. Jackson explained in interviews during that time he had a drug addiction. So that's probably why he looks that way in the movie.
My absolute favorite movie of all time! Martin Scorsese's best work, you got yourself a new subscriber!
The fake laughter with Tommy is intentional. It’s meant to show that he has status in the mob others don’t, to where if he tells a joke, people have to laugh.
They were scared of him literally to not laugh lol
I don't get it, what type of negative comments were you getting on the Godfather?
I was just lookin through the godfather comments to find out and I'm still confused, they must be on patreon lmaoo
No they’re just deleted. A lot of people were just saying I was too dumb to watch that movie or sum lol idc
@@MJWITHOUTSPIDERMAN nah that is so mean you deserve better
@@MJWITHOUTSPIDERMAN bet if you told those same commenters you'd like to get to know them personally they'd forget they even said anything 🤣 pretty hate is real
@@user-cj9yq1ft4d if you wanted a history lesson go watch the history channel 💀
Good movie!!
A Bronx Tale is another good italian mob movie with a love story in it... Its a must watch youll love it
10:42 - It really is entirely profit because once the owner asked Paulie's help - Paulie basically decided to order goods using the business's credit line! - Once the stuff arrives, you sell out the back without paying a dime! So indeed it is all profit because the Mob NEVER INTENDED TO PAY THE CREDIT LINE! 😅😂
It would almost be sad if they weren't so clever about it! 😅😂
Damn. The Godfather had a negative response? People love that classic. I think you should still do part 2 of that. I love part 1 but think part 2 is even better though. They are both classics. In fact 2 is one of the few sequels in film history that live up to the first. I would literally ignore the negative responses in this case. But anyways I'm glad you're doing Goodfellas! Goodfellas is my favorite Gangster movie. The Godfather Part 2 is my second fav.
I’m here for the milkers
My fav reaction channel u got the best reactions and that pretty face just make it that much better
Pronounce Pesci as “Pesh-ie”
I recognized Samuel L. Jackson " stacks" in the movie.😁
You've been on a roll with the good movies, I see you💪🏾
Ur reactions are top tier . Enjoyable , and genuine . Randomly found ur channel and been hooked since . You got a friend in me ❤
If you like this , you'll love Casino.
Many say the Godfather is the best Mafia movie, I 100% disagree.
Goodfellas showed the seedy underside of the Mafia, and no one is to be trusted.
There was nothing "honorable" about being in the Mafia as the Godfather tried to show.
Goodfellas was much more true to life.
Black Mass is criminally (ha) underrated. It’s so good and basically a horror movie at times
Johnny Depp did great playing as James Bulger. Dude was psychotic. Dana White said that they chased him outta town.
Being made means you are now a formal member of a crime organization (Family) instead of just an associate. Theoretically your power and wealth should increase dramatically. It's like being directly hired by a Fortune 100 company instead of just being a contractor.
MJ WITHOUT SPIDERMAN , Back in the 60s, it was more impressive for a guy to take a date through the kitchen. Owning restaurant was more prestigious back then, and taking her through the kitchen showes you have connections.
I take a girl through the kitchen and they take care of the rest when I want to stop seeing her. She becomes part of the soup for a few nights.
It's definitely not cool to cheat on someone, or put hand on them, but it's less cool to wake them up with a gun in the face. If you're going to do that, you really can't be shocked if someone responds to that.
There's some stuff in here that give you the wrong impression, too. Like the Lufthansa Heist...Henry wasn't involved in that at all. Also, when you mentioned they waited until Henry got out of the car before they hit the guy, that could be false. This story is based on Henry's version of events, so he could have given us that story to distance himself from the crime. Potentially I mean.
36:20 - THAT SLAP FROM PAULIE WAS IMPROVISED BY THE ACTOR! Hence the surprise on Henry's face! 😅😂
My fav movie ever right here. So classic
This is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITES!! This felt like showing one of my best friends a movie I love for the first time LOL cause you have definitely become my best friend in my head😅 Love your reactions girl, you're awesome💖
AWESOME vid as always MJ! Just so you know that show you were talking about where the kid says everything twice was Jacob Two-Two definitely one of my top shows on Qubo
Ayeee 😭 mine was my friend rabbit and dragon tales
Regardless of the feedback, please finish the Godfather trillogy. The 2nd movie is arguably better than the first, and was considered the first movie sequel ever. It was nominated for Academy awads for both Pachino, and a young Robert Deniro who plays Vito. Its also the part of the original book that the author adapted to make this one.
6:35 - this is what set the Italian Mob apart from the rest! Sheer organisation and balls! The Mafia were SO POWERFUL during 50s-mid 80's - that no skyscraper in NYC could get built without their "say-so"... even Donald Trump had to pay a 2% tax on the concrete to build Trump Tower! Donald was not involved with the Mob it was just that it was so prevalent that he couldn't get anything done without their hand in it! It's better known as the "Concrete club" which included all 5 bosses of the New York Families...
These guys had so much power that they could shut down an NYC construction site with 1 PHONE CALL...
I think that's why I admire them so much because no other organisation has EVER GAINED THAT AMOUNT OF POWER IN THE US...
And that people say nowadays...unfortunately...criminals have got no morals, no rules and no parameters to abide by...back in the day you burgled an old lady you got dealt with but these days the old lady shoots you in the back and she's made a killer...
Don't get me started! I'll be ranting forever! 😉🙂😐
Why would Henry rat everyone out..?
Because they're all monsters.. murderous, psychopathic monsters who literally base their lives on stealing and killing people..
And he was with them doing the same thing being an accomplice. Now what?
@@MJWITHOUTSPIDERMAN now what, what..? Lol.. and?
Yeah, he was.. and he was just as guilty and as much a monster as the ones he ratted on..
I'm saying he was SOO loyal when he was one of them but as soon as HE makes his own life go to crap... now everyone goes down with him? he chose this life and so did they. he did no time because he ratted and they died in prison soooooo @@cjperry2731

The real life story is even crazier than the movie!!
We really like you movie channel. You have a good way about talking through the movie. Keep it up. Ginger San Francisco USA
Another movie Robert De Niro is in with Samuel L Jackson is called Jackie Brown(1997). It’s currently on Netflix!
2:20 - YOU'RE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT LOVE!
That's what this film shows brilliantly! You might get respect, more money than you can spend and girlfriends up the wazoo! BUT YOU CAN'T SLEEP WITHOUT A GUN IN YOUR HAND OR GO TO YOUR CAR WITHOUT LOOKING OVER YOUR SHOULDER!
And this may sound like nothing more than a small compromise for that kind of lifestyle but you will NEVER SLEEP PEACEFULLY!...❤
And 4:16 - and this my darling was not Paulie's idea! This was how the Mob lived and operated! Paulie Vario (real name) was in charge of his crew (which included associates Henry Hill, Tommy DeSimone and Jimmy Burke) and basically could do nothing with his permission! A lot of people think the Mob was sitting in their social clubs thinking "how can we rip someone off today?" When IN REALITY people CAME TO THEM with schemes and tactics to make money and solve their problems!
The Mafia are not the devil's they are made out to be!
The US government said "put them guys in jail! What they are doing in Las Vegas is wrong!" AND NOW...Guess who runs Las Vegas...? The US Government! Jealous that they didn't think about it first!
8:00 - this scene wasn't in the script and it was Joe Pesci who came up with it...Joe Pesci had a REAL MOBSTER switch on him in a situation just like this! And he decided it was appropriate (obviously 😅) for the story and BEHOLD...one of the greatest scenes of all time! ❤
Classic. Love this movie.
This girl has toxic energy, lol. Def the type to date jail birds
Never have and never will but good try though
You can’t tell this movie to slow down. It hits the ground running
7:05 Pop Pop used to repeat this part because his wife repeat everything.
1997 Donnie Brasco movie stars Johnny Depp, Al Pacino and Anne Heche. True story about an FBI agent who goes undercover in the Mob. It's on CZcams for free right now.
This a masterpiece so watch godfather part 2 it's great sequel to the first godfather
