i have a 2000 V6. i kept it single 2" exhaust with a single flowmaster 40 and left it cut after the muffler. it gives off a great loud sound thats still not to loud and just open enough to get good back pressure for touque. this guys headers deffinatly helped him.
you can also swap out the power steering pump it self, cant remember what off of, but i do remember reading that people do that to fix that sound problem
Why does everyone hate on v6 cars. They can easily make as much power as any v8. You don't have to have a 454 to have power anymore, it's not 1969 anymore.
Both layouts have good sounding and bad sounding motors, I prefer the sound of V6’s (except for buicks 3800 they can stay in the shit heap unless its L67 and rear wheel drive) because all V8’s sound similar if not the same nowadays cause they all use almost the same designs or share motors whereas V6’s its not that common LS, coyote, boss, all used in literally hundreds of different makes and models (including outside the US)
While I'm not a fan of the 3.8, 3.9, and 4.0 V6 engines, the current 3.7 is a nice engine. Over 300hp is nothing to sneeze at. I chose to buy my Mustang with a V8, but I can definitely see why some people go with the V6 model. BTW, the 4.6 SOHC modular V8's that were in Mustang GTs from 1996 to 2010 were great engines, especially the 3-valve. That's smaller than a 5.0, but makes a lot more power than the 5.0 did in the Foxbody days. The 289 (4.7l) was a great V8 in the 60's too.
i bought the car for $3900, it came with the H-pipes,catback flowmaster exhaust and K&N CAI. then i bought the SCT tuner on American Muscle for $300. it was a GREAT BUY
i will admit that this is honestly the very first v6 mustang i dont hate. you honestly did it right in my opinion. its not riced out the exhaust doesnt have fart cans and you dont have ugly painted rims. so i do give a high five for this.
@sto10169 Your check engine light will come on if the o2 sensors aren't plugged back in, it doesnt mean anything is wrong with it, just is becuz of that
@mdestefano31 The cranks in thema re the same as f 150's hardened heads and block, SPLIT port induction (only difference) and a higher compression ratio than a 281. 281's push at 9:8:1 compression, and 232's push at 10:9:1. Let a 232 stand idle at a red light in gear (barely in gear) and watch your RPMS's they willl rise a couple hundred RPMS. This engine uses STOCK boost. I tell you this car was initially underrated
@mrgamer1977 it's a sharp looking car and sounds great, nothing wrong with a v6. unless you're talking about the gto v8 in the back, then i agree you gotta hook that up!
i have a 01 v6 with the pypes exhaust with catted x pipe it sounds good for a v6 ur car sounds great..i recently bought an 01 gt and have a bassani o/r xpipe on order cant wait
IN america its 3.8L V6s if your talking about thr 94-04 and you get that much hp because they most likely changed things like the timing and compression ratios. Anything is possible.
if you are saying that your car will be louder than his without header, the answer will be no. and as for the 40 and 44, and correct me if i am wrong the 44 the same as the 40, the only difference is that the 44 muffler is smaller.
@2mustangcobra nice, thanks u just stoped me from buying the magnaflows, ill check out the flowmasters tomorrow, i think thats what ill b getting, thanks man.
everyone loves the sound of a nice big V6, it has the ruff agressive sound, but a performance vibe to it. and altho i do love my shelby..it sounds like a pissed off sloppy mess with that V8 scream lol
@dvdhnrqz actually a good exhaust can give better gas mileage. it allows the engine to run more efficiently. it doesnt have to work as hard to pump waste gases out
@prosurfer2222 The b16 makes 112 ft lbs of torque while the 99 mustang v6 makes 220. I can only imagine the pull back in your seat with a whopping 112 ft lbs, damn.
@prosurfer2222 yeah but that was the civic type r, the sportier edition, try the '95 cobra r. your comparing 2 different model vehicles, tuner and muscle. and basic edition and suped up edition
+1 to all the awesome comments on sound. I just picked up a stock '99 and watched over 50 vids to get an idea. This is the BEST by FAR! OMG! So does it have headers and is your's a GT? It looks sleek w/o the stock spoiler on back! Very nice 'stang man!
I know what you meant, I was saying the same thing could apply to any car that's done up as well as this one. I was pretty much adding on to what you were saying.
Wow! That was actually pretty impressive! Glad to find out that my '99 has that kinda potential. How much did all those exhaust upgrades cost? I might have to do this to my car sometime!
Everyone is wrong. My v6 and v8 mustang's were nearly identicle, other than power and sound. Inssurance, gas consumption, and price are about the same, I bought my v6 not because I can save maby 400 bucks a year over a gt but because I wanted somthing different. And the priceless looks of all the gt's I smoked were awsome.
I work on exotic cars and this to me sounds like a car I would see in my bay. What ever you have done to this it is amazing....by far the best sounding V6 mustang I have EVER heard please what have you done to it?
Hey man, I have a 2000 'Stang myself, and was looking to do something similar to your setup now, as it sounds AWESOME. I had a question for you, though... How loud is it on the highway when you're cruising along in 5th? How long is it on a normal drive from inside the car for that matter?
That quote from Shelby has been taken out of context by so many people that it's not even funny. I like a bigger engine for it's torque, but it's not that simple. In a heavier car, torque is more important, but that also depends on gearing. If you can get a car with a low-torque, high-hp engine into it's powerband quickly and keep it there, it will be just as fast as a car with similar hp and a bigger, torquier engine. Torque is good when you have lazy gearing.
Nice sounding mustang keep up the work I'm trying to get the same sound out of my mustang v6 so the video helps thanks also planing on putting a twin turbo setup on it from tma turbos
dude the whole time ive lved in orlando and i seen that car around if it was this one etc. at orlando speed world and the streets and thght it was a 4.6 good job dude my dosnt sound in comparing with urssss
Nice car, sounded absolutely brutal when you first started it, and I love the howl its got when your standing on it driving off at the end. Just a little ricey when you where revving it but thats to be expect with any 6 banger. Its good to see people respecting the V6, I've got a 94 that I'm swapping a super coupe supercharged 3.8 into, everyones got a V8 its cool to be different.
Sounds Awesome Dude Kinda Like an Italian V8. What type of Flowmaster 40 series mufflers are on the car? (American Thunder, Delta Force or Super 40's?) Thanks
@muaythaiandpeace in this time of the world having a V8 mustang is fine for a summer sports car, but as a daily driver it just makes more scence to have a V6 that sounds like a V8. because of the cost of gas and insurance.
wouldnt think it was a v6 until it gets to higher rpm. sounds really good at startup and idle
i have a 2000 V6. i kept it single 2" exhaust with a single flowmaster 40 and left it cut after the muffler. it gives off a great loud sound thats still not to loud and just open enough to get good back pressure for touque. this guys headers deffinatly helped him.
you can also swap out the power steering pump it self, cant remember what off of, but i do remember reading that people do that to fix that sound problem
That is one of the best sounding V-6 I have heard.
Why does everyone hate on v6 cars. They can easily make as much power as any v8. You don't have to have a 454 to have power anymore, it's not 1969 anymore.
hell some the new v6s and four cylinders put out as much as the v8s of yesteryear..but get gas mileage..I love v6s
Both layouts have good sounding and bad sounding motors, I prefer the sound of V6’s (except for buicks 3800 they can stay in the shit heap unless its L67 and rear wheel drive) because all V8’s sound similar if not the same nowadays cause they all use almost the same designs or share motors whereas V6’s its not that common LS, coyote, boss, all used in literally hundreds of different makes and models (including outside the US)
By far the best sounding V6 stang ive ever heard!
probably the best sounding v6 i can think of.
if i owned a 4th gen v6 this is the exact exhaust combo i would go with, sounds great man
Probably the best sounding V6 Mustang I've ever heard. Well done.
DAYUM sounds very good a very smooth mellow tone
While I'm not a fan of the 3.8, 3.9, and 4.0 V6 engines, the current 3.7 is a nice engine. Over 300hp is nothing to sneeze at. Best sounding 3.8 I've ever heard, bravo
i bought the car for $3900, it came with the H-pipes,catback flowmaster exhaust and K&N CAI. then i bought the SCT tuner on American Muscle for $300. it was a GREAT BUY
Dude it sounds like the Supra from the orginal fast and the furious on the second to the last clip. Thats Awesome.
By far the best sounding v6 mustang exhaust I've heard
I love the way this v6 stang sounds! Get it cammed. It will sound even better.
Man I need that set up, I almost didn't believe you at first I thought it was an 8 cyl. Nice!!
actually sounds damn good for a v6. mean sounding too, very nice stang
i liek it, one of the best sounding v6 mustangs i heard
i will admit that this is honestly the very first v6 mustang i dont hate. you honestly did it right in my opinion. its not riced out the exhaust doesnt have fart cans and you dont have ugly painted rims. so i do give a high five for this.
Sounds damn good for a 6, and moves out pretty good too.
nice sounding 6...if I ever got my hands an a 6 banger I would def. go with your set up

Best sounding v6 mustang

@sto10169 Your check engine light will come on if the o2 sensors aren't plugged back in, it doesnt mean anything is wrong with it, just is becuz of that

Listen to it, its 5 spd. A good sounding v6.
That is one of the few v6's that I actually don't mind. Most of them sound tinny, like all the GM products.
I never cared for V6 mustangs, myself I'd rather have the GT, but that has got to be the best sounding V6 I've EVER heard, I'd drive that
I'm thinking about doing this to my 99 Mustang.. sounds really great considering it's a v6!
That is handsdown the best sounding 3.8 ive heard yet. Great vid, slick pony!! take care
@mrgamer1977 it's a sharp looking car and sounds great, nothing wrong with a v6. unless you're talking about the gto v8 in the back, then i agree you gotta hook that up!
Dang that is a sick car!! I'm getting one in about a week it'll be my first car im bout to be 16. I cant wait!!!!
i have a 01 v6 with the pypes exhaust with catted x pipe it sounds good for a v6 ur car sounds great..i recently bought an 01 gt and have a bassani o/r xpipe on order cant wait
last time i checked this guy did 12.5 in a 1/4 mile. and he's got a twin turbo set-up coming soon. Fact!
i figure that would kick major ass yes lol the 05 and up v6s are fast for what they are stock. lots of potential
IN america its 3.8L V6s if your talking about thr 94-04 and you get that much hp because they most likely changed things like the timing and compression ratios. Anything is possible.
sounds awesome, when i heard it start up I thought no way that is a v6. nice car man
if you are saying that your car will be louder than his without header, the answer will be no.
and as for the 40 and 44, and correct me if i am wrong
the 44 the same as the 40, the only difference is that the 44 muffler is smaller.
@2mustangcobra nice, thanks u just stoped me from buying the magnaflows, ill check out the flowmasters tomorrow, i think thats what ill b getting, thanks man.
This is the best sounding V6 Mustang I've heard in a while.
dude thats legit for a v6, respect.
everyone loves the sound of a nice big V6, it has the ruff agressive sound, but a performance vibe to it. and altho i do love my shelby..it sounds like a pissed off sloppy mess with that V8 scream lol
@dvdhnrqz actually a good exhaust can give better gas mileage. it allows the engine to run more efficiently. it doesnt have to work as hard to pump waste gases out
Sounds real good best v6 iv heard
That's a v6 mustang? Oh my gosh. Dude I know you love your car
Damn bro, this is one fkn badass v6!!
beautiful looking and sounding car man!
good sounding v6, usually v6 sounds ragged, but then a gain it is a Mustang so of course it sounds good.
Damn bro thats sick for a v6, nice setup man it sounds and looks like a v8 stang
omg....for a V6, she sound good as hell, i see a lot of v6's round my way but none of them sound nutn like yours...
Getting this done to mine tomorrow
@prosurfer2222 The b16 makes 112 ft lbs of torque while the 99 mustang v6 makes 220. I can only imagine the pull back in your seat with a whopping 112 ft lbs, damn.
@prosurfer2222 yeah but that was the civic type r, the sportier edition, try the '95 cobra r. your comparing 2 different model vehicles, tuner and muscle. and basic edition and suped up edition
@muaythaiandpeace hes got a gto rite next to it that makes up for the v6
+1 to all the awesome comments on sound. I just picked up a stock '99 and watched over 50 vids to get an idea. This is the BEST by FAR! OMG! So does it have headers and is your's a GT? It looks sleek w/o the stock spoiler on back! Very nice 'stang man!
I Agree 100% Go With any Terminator!!
I wish I had bought one instead of my GT.
DUDE.....well done that sounds amazing!
I love the people calling it rice then telling you to get a civic. Oh lawd shenanigans abound. Keep up the good work good sir.
Hey, that sounds pretty good... I have a V6 Mustang, and am looking at all exhaust options, and this one seems to be a possible one!
Sounds good man.
nicest v6 sound in the world
Ok bro thanks , the video it's great I installed all the same and it sounds awesome bro !! Ill soon upload a video of it .
I have the same problem. It is probably excurrent steering fluid. I have to always refill it.
I had a stang just like this one, except mine didnt sound as good as yours! I had flowmaster too, but this one is badass! Nicwe ride dude!
best sounding v6!
Sounds good, Brian. Sounds like the new setup might have quieted it down some and smoothed it out. Almost an exotic sound, now, IMO.
im getting this setup next saturday i cant wait!
@1sick46 you said it man, thats all rich kids do is have their moms and dads buy their fancy lil cars
That is one bad ass V6!
@adamcentral007 I am trying to avoid the v6 sound you would usually get with a traditional exhaust system.
Im generally not a fan of loud v6's but this is by far the best sounding v6 ive ever heard.
I work on exotic cars and this to me sounds like a car I would see in my bay. What ever you have done to this it is amazing....by far the best sounding V6 mustang I have EVER heard please what have you done to it?
holy smokes!!!! thats a sixer sounds nicer than my old F body....Damn California and emmisions!!!
@act2popcorn Really I didnt know That they were based off the grand national engines.
Wow man, nice piece of car uve got there, damn i want mine!
Hey man, I have a 2000 'Stang myself, and was looking to do something similar to your setup now, as it sounds AWESOME.

nice mustang it sounds good
Nice sounding mustang keep up the work I'm trying to get the same sound out of my mustang v6 so the video helps thanks also planing on putting a twin turbo setup on it from tma turbos
this is the video that sold me on v6 mustangs rather than v6 camaro. but if i were to get a v8 i would get a camaro.
@punypony no beacause i would think it would suck in more air to sound louder
Wow, you really made that V6 sound and look respectable. Nice work.
i had the same catback but i recently switched to magnapacks there alot deeper
yo that pony looks and sounds great!! I got an 03.
Dude. It sounds like a Supra. Awesome.
Dude love your exhaust, gonna copy it on my 03. Cept I may go with a catted x.
@punypony I like it clean ass ride and sounds pretty good to be a v6
dude the whole time ive lved in orlando and i seen that car around if it was this one etc. at orlando speed world and the streets and thght it was a 4.6 good job dude my dosnt sound in comparing with urssss

@MooDoogler doesnt need to be. i dont think thats what hes going for anyways... he just wants a nice sound, good gasmilage, and performance.
Sounds Awesome Dude Kinda Like an Italian V8.
What type of Flowmaster 40 series mufflers are on the car? (American Thunder, Delta Force or Super 40's?) Thanks
@muaythaiandpeace in this time of the world having a V8 mustang is fine for a summer sports car, but as a daily driver it just makes more scence to have a V6 that sounds like a V8. because of the cost of gas and insurance.
lets see this car and that gto in the garage from a roll
