- We had to act fast after our garden frogs spawned in an old bucket full of rain water and not in my lovely nature pond beside it! Luckily I was able to get my hands on a @BlagdonWaterGardening No dig nature pool to put them in.

Told myself "I don't need this" like I'm not already planning where I could put it 😂
You and me both
Hahahaha I'm sorry and you're welcome 😂
😹
Oh, go ahead. Enjoy the process and the results. Remember, you can always change it up, and probably will as your garden changes.
@@conniewojahn6445 Good argument, also it's 10% off on Amazon 😅
GARDEN POND MATT..is there no end to this man’s talent 🤷
Hahaha anything involving water I'm there!
When I clicked on this video, I fully expected to just be entertained and supporting the channel. By the time the video was over, I started searching for one of these kits LOL. Nice Job!
Hahahaha I'm sorry, this is often what happens to me.
Same. I now want one of those so bad. Just worried about mosquitoes using the water to multiply.
lots of fish LOVE mosquito larvea , bound to get the fish breeding......@@MrVovansim
@@MrVovansim white clouds or sticklebacks
Klasse 👍, bekommt man diese Sachen in Deutschland 🇩🇪?
Put an underwater camera in there, could do a timelapse of the frogs
Good shout!!!!
I'm so happy when you take me off the tripod 🤣
Hahahaha everyone enjoys it.
From now on I will scream: Weeeeeeeeee!
My first video here loved it project came out great😊
First-time viewer here. What a great video! Loved the project; loved your easy-going explanations; loved that you included your adorable son. Thank you so much for breaking the build down, showing us that it doesn't have to be intimidating, but, rather quite pleasurable. Will be watching more of these.💚😊💚
Even people with just a balcony could have a little pond like this and add some rice fish.
My dad has always talked about having a pond, this seems reasonable, thanks! Love your bee houses and bug hotels, I'm happy you embrace the inverts
Thank you! There has to be a place for all animals in my garden!
What a softy. You need a new pond to save the tadpoles

I decided to make a wildlife pond last year. I was actually able to order a 300 litre solid freestanding pond online. It was delivered within days. The bloke delivering it wondered what on earth it was. I put pebbles on the bottom & ordered over hang baskets which allowed for shallow planting. I’ve got logs stacked up on one side to allow access for frogs etc. It was so easy to do & so satisfying. It is teaming with tadpoles this year. Every garden needs a water feature.
Awesome job, it was nice to see you involving your family on this project and teaching your little one from a young age at the same time.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I‘d Watch an entire season of this
Hahaha watch this space for more garden entertainment.
Keeping the water moving also helps keep the amount of mosquito larvae in the pond down. If it just sits stagnant it'll just be a mosquito breeding ground.
I just ordered one from Amazon USA… I’m so excited ❤🎉
Your little one is adorable😊
We just moved house and have several acres. In the front yard, there are several cacti. I want to build a succulent Zen garden with a pond. I will be doing this since my fiance's honey do list is already a mile long. I can do this by myself. I love your videos Matt. Keep up the good work.
I'm totally doing this! My summer project
WOW! You have super brilliant momma frogs. They knew not to lay their babies in the beautiful big nature torture trap. LOL
Love seeing your garden, one of my favorite videos in a while! I hope we get more outdoor videos
Thank you so much! Definitely more to come, I'm thinking wildlife cameras and more bug hotels.
@@FishShopMatt AH yes, some updates with all the wildlife/pond growing in would be amazing!
@@FishShopMatt Yes, fantastic ideas!
Im currently talking with my fish shop in Norway, I also want this pond. It looks amazing! 😁
Hello from Colorado!! my three-year-old granddaughter watch this video with great attention all the way through! She never sits still for anything that long. Apparently you have a way with toddlers.😂😂😂
And this is why we LOVE YOU …….. I really feel like I could have a small pound now. Love your garden and your little helper
Awww that's so kind, thank you so much!
Your baby is so helpful! What a cutie pie! Aloha from Hawai’i ❤
Thank you for sharing the link for us here "across the pond". This is exactly what I have been looking for. Love your garden!
that is beautiful! great job bud!
You can never have too many ponds. These kits are fantastic. I wish they sold them over here in the states.
I have wanted a small pond for 3 years and now I can have one! Thank you so much for sharing this!!!❤❤❤
Lovely! If you plant some lavender there will be loads of bees and butterflies around them, plus they smell lovely. :)
Good Helper. He Ready.
You are a wildlife guru. I needed this. That's how I garden. I also have multiple 40 gallon fish tanks inside. Thank you Matt.
Another comment for engagemometrics boosting.
YAY FROGGIN!
FUZZY BUZZING BEE!
Birds 'n seeds.
Mmmmm, lovely pleasant.
Tropical pond- GREAT IDEA GO FOR IT MATE!!!!!
Might get a bigger one for the trop pond hahaha
Oh no fair! It's so much greener where you are than where I am, and on top of that, you have a great little helper! I'm jealous, as always.
Spring has definitely sprung where we are. Thank you!
Ya ,I live in alaska and the snow is melting and it is pretty warm 50 degrees Fahrenheit every day but the sun is soo intense this time of year that it felt like 70 degrees, but I am still super jealous 😊
I really loved this video, inspired me to do this in London where there is very little eco system, back gardens can still team with life and nature! Thank you xx
😻
What a lovely video. Thank you!🇨🇦
I have had tadpoles in my rain barrels and other things that hold water! I was a foster mom to the tadpoles, and fed them fish food from Walmart. Now I make sure I cover my water containers!
OMG Quinn is getting SO BIG !!! and he certainly has a good eye for plants, as those flowers that he chose were BEAUTIFUL !!! Lovely pond Matt and Quinn !!!
Thanks so much 😊
Love the look of that might have a chat with hubby lol. Quinn is adorable, loved the way he tried to get in 😂
Hahaha I'm sure you can persuade him. Yeah Quinn is hilarious, until he climbs in it when it's full.
What a Great little pond!! Looks beautiful and so easy to set up. Thanks for sharing such a great product!!
Thanks for watching!
Love it! The world would be better off if everyone created some natural habitats in their back yards!
So so true!!!
Your amazing Matt we'll done. Think it's time to change your CZcams name. you're way better than any fish shop I've ever been to. Don't change and keep up the good work.
We made a raised pond ourselves out of decking boards, lined in polyestrine with a proper pond liner and filter. We keep goldfish in it and they are doing really well. It has been up and going for 4 years now.
Love your entire nature space! I know it took some work to get there, but it sure is worth it. Thanks for sharing your ideas with us. Beautiful!
Johnny, the trick is to get the feeders out there in the backyard. If you have them they will come Canada has some cold winters as well. Sometimes down to mines 25. I start putting them out now end of March beginning of April you might not get them right away but they will come keep those feeders out there the magic recipe to get them to come is one cup sugar, 4 cups boiling, hot water Put them out in the backyard and they will come sometimes it takes a while. Good luck my friend.
Really well done, this video. You’ve made the curious feel capable. 🖐🏻Ooh! Shades it!
Something similar happened to me a couple of years ago. Frogs eggs in a pot plant tray. Made an emergency pond from an old hard plastic kiddie pool plus rocks, wood and plants. Still going strong! The antler fern has taken over, and I still keep getting new batches of tadpoles. Only problem is the red bellied black snakes seem to be checking it out now.
I'm really tempted to buy the big one, add a heater, filter and tropical fish.
I would love to see you build a marine saltwater pond with mangroves. I'm planning one here in South Africa with soft and leather corals with clams. Time that you get your fish room ready. Love your videos.
This is immense I'm getting one
Yeah they're great! 😃
They laid in the bucket because wildlife prefers still water. Throw out the pumps and just add some hornwort in the water which will oxygenate it and keep it clean
Wow, Matt, that thing is so awesome. I love that pond and how brilliant of an idea. Such a simple thing and it's nothing huge and can go in just about any size yard. This is definitely one of my favorite things you've done. I loved seeing fish shop Quinn also! He's so big and he seemed like he was some help, too :) Love seeing you do things with your family. This is so great and I'm going to be looking for this thing for my parents I think.
Awww thank you so much!!!
Beautiful vision ,beautiful family, beautiful outcome. Ty u so much for sharing you journey, art& instruction
How lovely your garden is . 😁👍🏼⛲🌱🌱🌱
love this!
Training Quinn young! Love seeing the family joining in. I now need to get me a nature pond/ tropical pond :)
Got to show him to love nature and wildlife, as corny as it sounds they're the ones that will protect it in the future.
We bought a solar fountain for our kio pond. Its really quite cool..apart from anything else, it tells us how sunny it is outside lol
Hahaha always useful!
Brilliant music choice, relaxing and got good vibes! First tanks being set up at our families house next couple weeks, thanks for your help.
Thank you! Exciting times for the tank!
Ah, for floating plants, I love to put amazon frogbit in the tub, once the water temps are in the cozy zone they grow well in the aquarium, and explode when given direct sunlight for even a small portion of the day
You helped me get over my 🍁 smoking addiction
The whole video I went:
I cannot put this in a room...
I cannot put this in a room...
I cannot put this in a room...
Matts words at the end.
Me:
hhghddhgddfgmofggrrrrr
Hahahaha Katie has already told me I can't until I get the fish room
@@FishShopMatt I know this might be a questionable opinion, but: Thank you, Katie!
My partner keeps me in check so I don't drown myself in pet care. I don't know how your situation is! But I felt confident to guess ^^;;
@@FishShopMatt But.... also.... looking forward to the fish room... ^^;;;;;;;
A Great pond!! And easily naturalized. Thanks for showing it to us.
He has grown so much! ❤❤❤❤
I hate to say this because I love MD, but this is how he started stuff normal people can do! But I understand now he has a business too run, and I’m all with that, but sometimes don’t forget where u came from, I’ve message you a few times and had a reply etc, message MD nothing, like I say hat off to him successful business man and a money maker, that’s why I will always have nothing I guess! Mint video that’s again Matt
This is a great video, i've been looking at ways to turn my plain new build garden into something more enjoyable for nature, all your insights into what plants your using and the bug hotel ideas really help.
Thank you so much, I'm glad you found it useful!
I was looking at this pond the other day on amazon as my youngest asked if we could get a pond, your timing could not have been better. My patio could do with a nice little feature. Will definitely look at this one at my local aquatics shop when i next visit.
That is awesome! It was honestly so easy to build the no digging part is by far the best hahaha.
That turned out so cute, now i want one :) thanks for sharing.
They should maybe provide a clip on shelf for planting marginals.
Wow wow I want one of these going to have a look as soon as video over 👏👏👏👏
Hope you enjoy it!
Very cool!
Whau so beautifull - very inspiring 🍀💚
Great video! Quinn is so sweet and already a good help. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy the wildlife pond, I can see the critters are already loving it.
Fantastic!
Insipring! Thank you
Hi matt, could you do a vid on algae control in outdoor ponds? All the ponds ive seen just have green water.
Also maybe a vid on possible fish for ponds of a similar size to this one
Absolutely, I plan to cover as many topics as I can on ponds throughout the spring and summer.
Yes please! All my tubs get hair algae in the summer, even when they are out of the sun and have floating plants in them.😬
That's a cute little pond. I love my container pond, but I used a 300 gallon stock tank. I did heat it over the winter to keep it at tropical temps.
That's cool!!!
Very nice 👍🏾
Love it! I always wanted a pond but building one is very daunting. Something like this looks very doable!
You can do it! This one is a great way to start and understand it, without the back breaking work.
Very cool, Matt! I love your yard and garden. I miss having a yard to garden in, so I'm living vicariously through you right now. 🙂 Cheers, Mate! ~Ron
Thank you Ron! You are always welcome!
@@FishShopMatt Thanks, Matt! 🙂
Very nice😊😊
Love this cute pond! Great video!
Hi Matt so loved this Video and wat a lovely project that people can have a go at.I think its so nice that you are doing some garden wild life bits aswell as the tanks.Really enjoyed watching this one and look forward to the updates too 🐸
Thank you so much! As long as it has water and a few plants I'm there! Hahaha
Looks great
Thanks!
Just watched the video with my Wife and we'd love to have a mosquito trap with moving water and damsel flies or dragon flies. Also something for the birds to drink from(Dogs are going for it too) . You look like a long lost cousin about twenty years younger than me. We're considering the moving water fountain pool. TYVM for sharing B Good
Awesome video matt love seeing updates on the pond
Glad you enjoyed
What about Australia, I bet I can’t get one here 😢 Absolutely love this, great bug hotel too! Can’t wait to see the tadpoles grow up, what a beautiful garden you have!
Your whole garden is my dream garden!!! I’m in an apartment so no longer have a garden. So lately I’ve been building terrariums so that I have a few little mini gardens in my apartment! Very cool pond!!! You could do one inside with some goldfish!!! 😊
Awww thank you, most of the time I let nature do what it wants and add to it here and there. Terrariums are perfect for a bit of mini gardening!
What an awesome kit! Hope it’s available in Aus! ❤️🇦🇺
I believe something is being worked on to get it to Australia
Seeing you thrive in your own channel makes me happy! Have seen you since the inception of MD!
Love it, simple but effective.
Glad you like it!
I love everything about this.
Thank you!
Ur son is sooooo cute!
This was delightful.
Thank you!
What a beautiful build! Lovely tadpole habitat. The idea of moving rocks across from a nearby pond is a great one, especially to make sure there's enough food, but just a note that people should please not go further than, say a couple of gardens to get these materials. Even in the UK we have serious issues with diseases like chytrid fungus affecting frog populations and it would be really easy to spread undesirable pathogens or invasive species this way.
Also for random interest, the bug at 19:52 is a rove beetle, probably Xantholinus sp., and just after that it looks like a 7-spot ladybird, which is one of our native species (rather than the invasive and super common harlequin ladybird). At 20:26 it's the green shield bug, Palomena prasina :)
Thank you! Yes absolutely true on the moving of wildlife, that's why I mentioned looking at what was legal as I have people from all over the world watching.
Thank you so much for the bug info I knew roughly but couldn't identify exactly what they were.
@@FishShopMatt No worries, yeah the legal side is a good point to highlight. Thanks for yet another cracking video!
Love that pond for a patio!
Agreed!
This is great for a diverse amount of people x Luv from 🇬🇧
That is a perfect size for a project pond for the back yard, and it's available in the US! Tetras and cherry shrimp would be great. Thanks for the great video and Quinn in soooo adorable.😃
Cherry shrimp would be great breeders hahaha
Pond is awesome
Doing great here. Just prepared my buldak cheese noodles in a sort of Italian-Korean fusion way with actual grated Parmesan on top and the radio is playing Europapa again! (I'm so glad my country is finally sending something actually nuts to the Eurovision Songfestival this time!)
And my baby bandit corys are growing so well! I might actually have six fry in there!😁
That food sounds great! Glad your bandits are doing well!
So incredibly based, love the accessibility angle. Not everything needs to be glamour and glitz.
Absolutely, a lot of people forget we all started somewhere and I want to make sure those people have info available
Thats a cool pond
