This creation very much gets the point and delivers the message - the tragedy of two nations struggling over one piece of land, each one of them with its own narrative of hopes and dreams for self determination in the “land of their fathers”... when put into one language, the 2 national anthems together sound almost as one, but the way Laibach were composing it still demonstrate the tension of the unsettled conflict between the two. I would not expect anyone to get it better than a band that came from ex-Yugoslavia, that went through such a terrible national conflict itself.
actualy i read once that according to genetic studys palestinians have a high admixture of jewish genes, probably because the ancienct jewish population of the reagion converted to the religions that swept over the land, and so it is even more tragic, if you imagine that both sides ancestory probably at one point were brothers, sisters , cousins and friends.

It was difficult for me to understand that the idea of nations means more to some people than to others. Nation building (especially from the outside) still feels wrong, just like regime change. And some folks get along well with tribes or religion or a certain culture without borders, even though Europe - even more than America - seems to insist on shaping nation states. Jewish culture often seems to disappear in the shadow of Israel as it is, but Israel could be much more. Even more than a democracy or a nation. And much more than a symbol (that is kept from functioning).
