I am man of wing chun, but my last sifu did the great thing of introducing us to silat and putting that in our training (he loves this form of art, and I can see why). Solo pad work! Now this is something I like. I have only seen Urban Combatives really showcase this.
Actually it was Mr. Lee Morrison who inspired the solo pad work in this course. I'm also an Apprentice Urban Combatives Instructor and representative of Urban Combatives Thailand.

is it allowed to use handwraps in silat?
also i am planning on buying this course next year after i finish this year's education. will it still be available then?
Sure you can wear hand wraps in Silat, however it is traditional to work with your fists unwrapped. Yes, the course will always be available. Thank you for your interest!

Does this course teach basic panglipur juru as well as other forms of applications and kombinasi?

Hi Alexandre. This course teaches very basic Panglipur striking drills - punching, elbows, and kicking. It has a juru from Sera along with many different combinations which you can practice solo by yourself.

@@alexandrea4171 Yes, we're looking to have a full Silat curriculum in the near future. However our next course, Panantukan Online, will be released before the end of the month.

@@alexandrea4171 No not the same price, the full curriculum for Panantukan is much more detailed and comprehensive. We will offer training packages to those who wish to certify in our different programs here in Thailand after the online course is finished, but will only be available after the full course is complete. Right now you can get live private 1-on-1 sessions over the internet with me after you complete Solo Silat at Home.
Hello! Can you tell me about Silat? I heard that there are different styles with different purposes, which do you practice? And which do you recommend for realistic self defense scenarios?
Yes there are thousands of different family styles. The styles I practice are Maphalindo Silat, Silat Serak, and Silat Panglipur. Silat is excellent for realistic self-defense and can be practiced at all ages and athletic abilities. I can't recommend it enough!

The syllabus in this course is part of the Core Combat Chiang Mai Level 1 curriculum. No recommended reading list, unfortunately.
