I have iphone 15
I’ve seen so many complaints about the island being useless. I guess if I TikTok all day.. scroll Facebook to see how many likes I get.. or complain on Reddit about all the flaws of the $1200 phone that most don’t even buy themselves.. well I can see that the island wouldn’t be of much use.
But for those of us who have lives.. pay our own bills.. have real friends.. have food we cook and set timers and all the other adult things we do.. well, Dynamic Island rocks. Thanks for this video!

does anyone else know if the united airlines app shows info on the dynamic island anymore. i remember using it a year ago and it would should my seat and when the plane is departing/arriving but i didn’t get that same thing on the dynamic island yesterday?

Nah. They can’t compare due to app developers inability to tweak the apps for everyone’s android phone in order to use it but apple can with their iOS software so they’ll never even come close to replicating it with the same fluidity and success.

Wait ios doesn't have a consistent light and dark mode?
I noticed that the widget and the dock had white overlay background, so i thought it's in light mode.
Then when the control center is brought up the buttons have black overlay. And the clock app is in dark mode entirely.

Glad you liked the video. I would restart the iPhone. It seems like a glitch. You can also check to see if the CZcams music app needs to be updated and if iOS has an update.

Are you a premium user? because you said it stops; only thing i can think off when CZcams stops playing on mobile if you arent subscribed. It wont let you play videos/music when you try to head back to your home screen.
Yooo, upgraded from 12 to 15 pro.
I have CZcams premium and sometimes I’m playing Pokémon go or browse socials while the video is playing, but with the Dynamic Island I can’t do that anymore because instead of the vid popping on the sides I have just the still image on the Dynamic Island like Im listening to music. Is there a way to change it? Thx a lot
I have the same issues with apps like CZcams. But in CZcams settings two general and turn on the switch for Picture in Picture (pip). Then it will return to a MiniPlayer instead of the Dynamic Island.
The Airpods Dynamic Island Status dose not work. how do you get it to work please explain in detail (what screen yoou need to be on, do you need to be listing to music) and so forth

That’s odd. Try restarting the iPhone. Also do you have a beta installed or the regular iOS 16

So when a call comes through you have to click the dynamic island at the very top of phone to answer the call? Can we disable it?
I don’t think so however I could be wrong as maybe I haven’t seen the setting. It seems like it’s a forced action now.
@@DHTV when call comes through does it automatically pop up in the dybamic island? Kinda akward to have to reach to the top of phone to answer a call one handed.
All good but what is that green dot in the dynamic island that only appears when in the Amazon app? Tapping it does nothing. I get this odd felling like it’s telling me my camera is active… 😟 I hope I’m wrong!
Yeah the green dot indicates when an app on your iPhone is using either the camera or the camera and the microphone.

You don’t have much control about how Dynamic Island works. You can set the call to the old way in notifications though.

I have Iphone 14 plus, the DI notch does not show anything and it does not do anything if I press and hold it? also it does not show as the pill-shaped notch. Can anyone tell me why that can be like that on my phone?
iPhone 14 Plus doesn’t have dynamic island as it has the notch. Only iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max have the pill shape for dynamic island.

It’s not available yet. It is called live action and should come out with a future iOS update

Text message notifications don’t pop up for me and I can’t find a way to select if I want notifications in the island or not
Check notifications settings in the settings app.
Can be also used in Android but using third party apps

It’s because not a lot of options are available at the moment to show where it’s consistently active. As more app developers add their widgets in you will see less timers in videos lol. But I do use the timer a lot.

No the dynamic island is for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max only as of now. It most likely will be in the iPhone 15 Pro Max too.
There was a function with the dynamic island that when you scrolled on a webpage or something, and when you clicked on the dynamic island that you went straight to the beginning (to the top) of the webpage, does somebody know where I can find this setting?
It’s not consistent and I tried now to make it happen. Try holding on it, double tapping but like I said it’s inconsistent and wouldn’t work when I tried it.

One of my apps no longer appear on my dynamiisland. How can i fix that?
Try restarting the phone and see if that works or delete and reinstall the app. If the app updated and no longer supports it then maybe that is the issue.
Sorry to disturp. How du I avoid that when in messages and deep in a long post - even I by accidend touches dynamicisland the post jumbos to the top. I would rather thar it did not 😊

My issue with the Dynamic Island is where I can’t switch between live activities on the dynamic island
Try reading the phone it could be a glitch.
They keep on saying that this is a combination of hardware and software just to sell you the pro model. It's purely a software feature and has nothing to do with the placement of the notch, it can easily be reworked to work with the old notch by modifying a few animations here and there and the buttons placement. Yet again Apple is overselling minor design adjustments... To be honest, I'm just waiting for a decent feature to upgrade my iPhone 12 Pro, but it seems I'll be waiting for some time as they are once again selling the same phone as last year with bigger cameras.
Lol very true but it is technically the hardware placement and the software working with it that does it. See Androids already working this same feature in with skins etc so it’s definitely possible with notch iPhones.

I don’t think it’s really hype. It’s just nice to see that they used what really is a flaw in most smartphones to create something unique. I think I even said in the video it’s pretty “gimmicky” right now. I like it though.

Agreed. All they did was tighten the notch and created fancy animations around it. The pill placement looks a bit lower than the previous notch placement so that extra but of screen above the pill is functionally useless. It's all software gimmick to create these animations around the notch and annoying.
I just want to know how to remove them… just swipe the dynamic island horizontally.
The smiley face for Face ID when I use Apple Pay doesn’t appear. I get an empty green circle and then a check mark, so I’m kinda disappointed about that. :(

It does it automatically when you receive a call for example. It pops up in the island. You then can tap on it and access the features.

It should get better over time as app developers implement it in their apps.
Dynamic Island is currently on the iPhone 14 Pro models though. Hopefully all the iPhone 15 models will incorporate it. ie. iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
I think having the notch right now on their regular 14 was a mistake
Looking at it from a marketing standpoint. If every iPhone has the dynamic island what’s the point of a pro. Looking at 11 through to 13 there’s no real difference from the stand version and the pro. So I don’t see the dynamic island coming to all iPhones till they find another signature feature for the new pro models
Apple messed up this time around. There was no need for an iPhone 14 Plus. There is almost no reason to buy a standard iPhone 14 when the iPhone 13 are going for 0 dollars on most phone carrier plans. Having the notch just made the standard 14 even more less appealing because now the Pro model will have the design going forward for the next while. Apple should have made just 3. Sales of the Plus are way down anyway.

I don't know about apple fans but that dynamic island give me feeling of unsatisfied because it look like one big black spot that not long until the end. I think if it blend with the background will be much better. Like the black colour only when on home screen and when you open any apps they blend it. I mean some phone do have black spot but small a size of camera it not obvious

You might just need to restart the iPhone. Could be a glitch or swipe sideways to remove it and swipe sideways the opposite to bring it back.

Not sure, is WhatsApp even supported yet? Only apps that support it work. The developers have to update their apps to work with it. Try updating all your apps in the App Store.

You can't. Screenshot means screen capture so everything on screen is shown. You can crop it out in the photos app editor.

I actually hate the dynamic island so much because when you’re on the Home Screen and the timer is activated, you don’t know if you have service or not (eg if you have 2 or 3 bars) that’s why I brought the 14 (upgraded from the 11) because to avoid the dynamic island. I hope the 15 has no dynamic island or else I’ll be switching to another company
That is something I didn't even notice! However, if you swipe left on the dynamic island while it is in use, you can swipe it away and have the normal screen.

its just something that shows notifications. meanwhile android has a lot of crazy features now. multiplescreens, multiple video capture, multiple apps opened in one screen. A floating mini tab for a few apps! @@DHTV
That is, if you want to answer an incoming call you have to use your other hand and reach into the dynamic island. Useless.
You might be able to change that in notification settings if it’s bothering you.

I mean all notification settings have options but not sure if they will apply to only lock screen or even on the home screen with this Dynamic Island. I haven't tested it out yet.
Oddly enough the reachability works but then dynamic island stays at the top so its useless for this.
