- Always Board Never Boring is back at the paint station, tackling another "how to paint" video for an awesome miniature from Masters of the Universe Battleground by Archon Studio. This time he's painting He-Man. Orko was feeling lonely.

WOW! Excellent Job! Looks Beautiful!
Thank you.
Always love how your minis come out. Great job on this one as well.
Thank you. I was really happy with this one. Let's face it, He-Man is turning up in every game, so I wanted to do him justice.
Nice work. Simple and effective. You are right they are great miniatures. I think you captured the cartoons I remember perfectly. 👍❤️
Thanks. I was pleased with how the colours ended up. And I didn't have to do as much mixing as I did with Orko, which was nice!
Just catching up on these recent painting guides.......super chilled and skilled and always! 👊😎
Thanks for working through them.
Good one! Looks like a fairly easy mini to work with too.
It's a really nice one to paint as there's nothing fussy on it, no negative space to work around, and lots of skin areas.
Daaaamn! You paint good!
Can't wait to see your Scareglow! 😏
Thanks. I am very happy with this one.
I have to be honest, I have no idea how to tackle Scareglow at the moment. As he isn't one of my favourites, I had him quite low down the list, but as you're a member, maybe I'll bump him up a few places, just for you! He'll still be after the classic line-up though. It's got to be Man-at-Arms and Teela next, then Skeletor, Mer-Man, Beast-Man, Trap-Jaw and Evil Lyn. After that it becomes a bit of a free-for-all.
@@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring Honestly, I thought he would be one of the hardest to paint... I dunno how to begin with the "glowing skeleton" printed on his body... did they at least give you guidelines..?
No guidelines or anything. I'm thinking Citadel's Hexwraith Flame will be the way to go, but I need to think about it.
That's some nice paintwork, well done!
Thanks so much.
Looking forward to more MoTU painting vids. 👍👍
Probably going to be weaving them in between Advanced Heroquest painting guides.
You my dude have both the touch and the power
It's just the eyesight that's failing! Thanks for watching.
Excellent!!!
Thank you.
Well done that's a really nice paint job
Thanks for the kind words.
As always I love your painting style and outcome. Great work.
Thanks so much.
Fantastic, you got the colours spot on!
Thanks. I was really happy with how this one turned out.
super good job
Thank you so much.
Looking good.
Thanks. This is one of the jobs I'm most proud of when it comes to painting. I'm really happy with it.
@@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring you absolutely should be proud.
Seriously awesome would love to see a play through of this game!
Balthazar Gold is such a fantastic color. Always even, highly reflective, always smooth.
My favorite metallic, easily.
Yeah, I use it all the time. I really like it.
Your He-Man turned out fantastic, by the way. Just thought I'd say that.
Fantastic work! I have all these minis on my paint table so I'll be coming back to this video when I paint my He-man.
Thanks. I will be painting my way through these miniatures on the channel, but in between other projects.
Looks great! Thanks for the tutorial.
Thank you.
Brilliant video. Love your work. I ended up ordering the MOTU comic book collection that you mentioned in a previous video. Still yet to open it! Keep up the great videos, always enjoyable to watch...
Thanks so much. I hope you enjoy the book; I think it’s something really special.
Excellent work!
Thank you!
Fantastic!!
Thanks. It's a great miniature to paint. There's nothing fussy on it.
Looks great
Thank you.
I really appreciate all that you've done. You've been a very calming influence in my life, especially when one of my friends keeps eagerly sending me episodes of "Happy Valley" which is a quite grim show... 😰
Well thank you, I'm really glad. I haven't watched Happy Valley myself, but I hear it's tough viewing.
Really solid paintwork, dude!
Thank you.
Nice, I use Agrax on cadian flesh also, thought I was the only one :) Possibly one of your best paint jobs.
Agrax on Cadian Flesh is a great insta-tan. Thanks for the kind words. This is one of my favourite pieces; I'm really pleased with it.
Enjoyed this. I liked and subscribed as another miniature and terrain painting channel, appreciate what you are doing.
Thanks for checking out the video and subscribing.
Great vid.
Thank you for always watching and supporting.
Great video by the way, I really like the flesh especially...
Thanks. I'm glad you liked it.
Looks great. I’ll never own or paint any MotU miniatures but this was still great to watch and I really like the end result where you’ve avoided using metallic on the sword, shield and chest strap.
Thanks. The good thing is, you can do something like this for any burly barbarian type you might need to paint up.
Excellent work! These paint tutorials are really well presented and inspiring me for when I finally receive Fields of Eternia
Thanks for the support - it's good to see the members club emojis popping up in the comments! I hope the videos end up being useful. I didn't back Fields of Eternia but a friend has so I'm hoping I can check it out at some point and decide if I want to pick up my own copy.
He-Man! enough said :)
Damn right.
I really enjoy your painting videos because the end result is great, but also achievable. You aren’t using 50 colours from 4 different brands, NMM etc.
Thanks. That's always been the aim with my tutorials. When I started on CZcams, I didn't intend to do painting videos because I didn't consider my work good enough; but I was looking for a simple guide on something I was painting, and the first video I found that was advertised as "simple" started off doing a zenithal highlight with a spray gun. That was when I realised I should do videos, because with so many fantastic painting channels doing the high-end stuff, maybe some people would like to see a much simpler way to get the minis coloured.
Now that’s how you paint a figure
Thank you.
I have no idea how you got the Cadian Fleshtone to behave so well but I'm very much impressed with the result - great stuff and much appreciated!
Thanks. To get good results with Cadian Fleshtone you need to keep it really thin. You have to use a lot of layers because the coverage isn't great, but you get a decent, smooth result at the end.
Awesome just stellar work dude!
Looks good. Seems like you are getting back into painting pretty regularly again.
Thanks. I'm ramping the painting back up now. Even after getting the new glasses it took a while because I was struggling to wear them for more than a few minutes because it started making my eyes tired. Now I'm getting more used to them I have a lot of catching up to do!
@@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring I found that reading with them really helps that process.
Preferably in really good light. Unfortunately, I think LED bulbs are not very friendly to glasses use for reading and detail work. I bought several cases of incandescent bulbs for my painting table and reading lamps, so I'm good for ages now.
Yeah, I've ended up using them a bit more than I probably need to just so I can get comfortable with them. I also need to remember to put them on and take then off when I am changing the distance I am working at!
@@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring The big thing to remember is not to look up at youtube or something with them on, as that leads to eye strain fast.
They really will improve your painting with time though. You will think you are a master painter at tabletop length now.
@@johnmiddleton4291 I’ve done that a few times recently when checking reference images for the He-Man stuff.
Excellent work! Are you planning any battle reports for He-Man?
There will definitely be some gameplay content on the channel at some point. I can't say when, though.
❤
Think there's some GamesWorkshop lawyers that would like to speak to you about putting citadel paint on nonGW minis.
I'm a rebel. If I stopped buying GW paints I wouldn't buy anything off them these days!
@@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring 🤣 too true. I've been crawling up the scale75 tree as of late. Considering "he who shall not be named" two thin coats paint line. I just have to be careful to not be a paint collector. I have the base set of Kimera coming in the mail. I'm excited to give those a try.
"Strawberry blonde"? 😂😂😂
Strawberry blonde seems like a reasonable description for it. Okay, it's more yellow really, but they sort of drifted between the yellow and orange depending on the cell, so I thought it fit.
