Of all the antique equipment you've acquired over the past few years I think these engines are some of the most interesting. I can't wait to see what you are able to do with them. Thank you for preserving these pieces of history. God bless you and your family.
Awesome Jonathan! Rick Delair here! Finally can post again! Subscribed again too! 😊 I hope you received the Edison style carbon filament bulb and wedge for your Unit crane a couple years ago! I love 2 strokes, and these loop scavenged using crankcase pressure like a gas 2 stroke, Fairbanks Morse hot-bulb semi-diesels are beautiful! Huge chain saw engines! 😅 I am glad to be back, you are awesome and this is my first comment since a few years! OH! These and most gasoline 2 stroke engines are Day cycle. Detroit diesel, and Cleveland diesel, also EMD, with intake ports and exhaust valves, also opposed piston engines like Fairbanks-Morse, all uni-flow scavenged with blowers, are Clark cycle engines. The opposed piston 2 stroke diesels remain the most efficient engines ever made! Glad to be back! 😊
Great acquitions! That place looks like it is a gold mine for the parts and vehicles that appeal to Jonathan. I am so happy he has finally managed to get some Fairbanks Moorse engines.
I just looked up "Hunk of Iron" and this came up. Theres no shortage of things that need saving there. Glad the rollback got the job done. I wouldnt mind saving a steel wheel fordson myself
You weren't kidding when you said that this one was "a little more sketchy" Jonathan !! Well done that man ! Also for building a robust truck to haul it ! Cheers, Ard
Makes me wonder how they hauled them into the woods and when to store them? Good that the owner knows a man like you can do more to preserve these engines than he can. Can you tell us the back story or any of the history on these Fairbanks Jonathan ?
I’ll bet there’s a good story about how he accumulated all that iron, trucks, steam engines, hit and miss engines, man he’s got it all. I’d love to hear some of the backstory on some of that!
A true test for the new truck. It'll be hoping it'll never have a load like that again 😂. Thanks fir salvaging these engines, I'm very interested in seeing more about them
Wow, you've certainly got some bottle shifting these machines. That guy has a fair few quids worth of gear hidden away amongst those trees! Great video as always!
. Those are interesting, would like to see more ! Get that monster twin goin! Sketchy cribbing was a bit scary, but ya got it,,,right on,,,,,,Love,,,DUBS,,,,,
Wanna see an extremely sturdy rear of a very impressive DIY build rollback bed? Just watch loading the ginormous and heavy ancient 2 cyl. Semi Diesel engine. Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing. Best regards luck and especially health to all involved people.
Hi, Jonathan, that is a beautiful Fairbanks-Morse Engine. With all the ancient engines you're collecting, iff you hook them up correctly, you can "Turn The World Around The Other Way"!.........LOL. God Bless and stay safe.💯💥
Boy Oh Boy! That was some haul! You picked up them engines at the right time. That wood was very rotten underneath the two cylinder engine and maybe not too much longer and it would have been on its side. I knew you were in for some quick thinking when you were saying sketchy, sketchy. I want to say that the truck you put together is a fine piece of equipment. You certainly put it through its paces and it worked fine. Two thumbs up for you!
I love the new rollback I would use that one over the rest of them once that thing is painted and lettered with maybe some light tinted windows that is going to be a really nice truck! It's already got the led lights and alluminum wheels now it just needs paint, tint, lettering, sun visor, bug shield, and some rookie stick light poles on the bumper!
Thank you Jonathan for taking us along on another engine rescue. Always learn a lot from you and your experience loading heavy objects on to your wreckers. You always manage to get even the sketchy ones loaded and home safe!
Well done Jonathan, interesting engines , not sure wether being two stroke use crank case pressure or how does it scavenge without blower , but I'm sure you will educate us thanks for sharing ,
Mr. Jonathan, you do not like being called Conservator - but you are saving great old iron pieces from being scrapped. You have really 'load tested' the wrecker you built.
Johnathan, You Shure know your craft! How many CZcams episodes do you think you would need to clear the Baltimore Harbor? Git that rollback on a barge!!!!
Hopefully you show us how to set them up and get them running cuz I'm interested I don't care about anybody else and just like I love watching your steam engine videos
Yunno, I don’t know how much these machines are costing you, but your steam farm is on my bucket list to visit when you’re ready, right now I’d imagine a bunch of tourists underfoot would be more trouble then you’d want. So you tell us, when you’d be open for business.
You just got a shout out from Scott at Cold War Motors. He just got a '47 Chrysler Royal running. Not moving, just running. He was hoping you would also participate in his WOTO (Waste Of Time Olympics). I suggested you might have a Franklin that could be your WOTO entry. Anyway. Cheers Jonathan.
Jonathan, that was scary as heck!!😳 But it's a testament as to how well you built that truck!! You are pure genius!!
Of all the antique equipment you've acquired over the past few years I think these engines are some of the most interesting. I can't wait to see what you are able to do with them. Thank you for preserving these pieces of history. God bless you and your family.

When your feet are off the ground.Get a longer bar.
Well done Jonathan!😊
I was sitting on the edge of my seat when the engine would rock on the extended bed. Amazing job Jonathan, well done.
I just looked up "Hunk of Iron" and this came up. Theres no shortage of things that need saving there. Glad the rollback got the job done. I wouldnt mind saving a steel wheel fordson myself
Holy mackerel, what a show.
textbook recovery, but perhaps not the OHSA textbook...

Good trial for the new rig went well. That twin is the biggest and ugliest 75 horse power ever. What a beast. Another nice score JW.
That new roll back works like a charm.
This man never ceases to amaze me with what he can accomplish
I like how when he's trying to jack it up he walks around and kicks it a couple of times, the way I do things😂❤

Nice job loading!
I think that guy you are getting this stuff from would love to hang out at your house and help get this going. He sure has a ton of fun stuff there.

Every time I watch these videos I wonder if there's anything this guy can't do?
Yunno, I don’t know how much these machines are costing you, but your steam farm is on my bucket list to visit when you’re ready, right now I’d imagine a bunch of tourists underfoot would be more trouble then you’d want. So you tell us, when you’d be open for business.
Great job Jonathan glad you got it back home safely…
You 'appreciate everybody watching'?..Man...We Appreciate You Videoing (word?)
Love your videos.
Those semi-diesels will run on all sorts of stuff including creosote, if you have some spare.
Like a museum site
I wasn't even there and it was scaring me! Yeah, that was looking sketchy. Glad you were successful lived to tell the tale.
Always a treat to watch a man who knows how to get her done.
We need 2 T-shirts.
1) Corliss engine, "Not a problem".
2) Fairbanks twin, "Sketchy".
No. Just no. Let's keep it simple.
Awesome haul !
I've saved a 1949 Studebaker 2R16A from scrap. Originally, it was a Pacific Brass Foundry delivery truck from the '50's.
There will be one hell of a sale at that property someday
Thanks Johnathan for another great video 😊👍
great video as always !
The new rollback looks and runs great !
Great video and thanks for sharing. I'll wait in anticipation for you to start one
Jonathan didn't record how he got the flywheel off, just in case #OSHA was watching. Suffice it to say that it was unique to this channel😁
Looks like old iron paradise!
Awesome. Definitely keep the twin
Please do the 2 cylinder first, those sound so cool.
