Hi! Thanks to your videos, I have been brewing my own kombucha for a year and a half. I appreciate that you gave me the confidence to not fear the process. It’s pretty forgiving, and there have been no spoiled batches or explosions! Thanks again!

I always save the ketchup/salad dressing bottles because they are just SO useful and versatile. It's good to know they are pressure safe. I would not have thought that they would be.

You should just sale your own starter kits & bottles. You've built such a great following here and could be very successful selling products. Love your videos BTW! So informational and helps build my confidence to start home brewing myself. Thank you for all the info!

You say that the stout bottles with the 38mm openings don't tend to break under pressure. What about the lids (plastic F217 38-400)? I see them bulge under pressure, which makes a great indicator. Do they ever break if left at room temperature for too long? At some pressure, something has to give. What is the weakest link? Are there pressure relief groves in the lid threads to prevent breaking, but stay closed until some pressure (like one atmosphere)? Are there different qualities or materials (PE, nylon, etc) of the black F217 38-400 plastic?

Hey kambucha friends, I have a question, my last batch was 2 years ago and i still have like 5liters and 4 scobys in a glass. Can I use this for next brewing or its 2 y too old? It was covered with a towel.

I'm very confused. So we should buy the bottles but get the lids somewhere else? Those cute 8oz size one's that she said is her favorite don't come with a good lid? You have to buy a different lid for those one's somewhere else? Is that correct?

I’m new here! Thank you so much for all the help. I had a question. I’m trying to decide between the stout bottle and the flip top bottle- I keep hearing that the stout bottle will loose it’s carbonation after 2-3 days and the flip top bottles will keep it for much longer. Would you happen to know if this is true? I can’t drink an entire batch in only 2-3 days but I don’t want it to loose all of the carbonation. Have you had this problem using your stout bottles with the black tops? Are the flip bottles better for holding the carbonation longer?

Not true! Stouts work great if you get the correct caps

I use stainless steel pearls, put them in with a little dish soap and water, close the cap and shake like crazy. Works everytime.

A video suggestion/help: Could you try and make a kombucha out of flavored store bought kombucha from scratch (still organic, not pasturized, it has just the flavor)? My local shops don't have non flavored kombucha. I started making a scoby from scratch using a flavored version. The process is reeeally slow. After 5 days I was able to see some crystals for the first time on top of the mixture. Now after a week I'm certain it's not just dust and a scoby is forming but it's painfully slow. I'm not 100% convinced though that my slow process is due to just the flavored kombucha since I also live in a colder climate.
TLDR: Would be nice to see a video of you growing a scoby from flavored and non flavored (as a control group) kombucha for stubborn people like me who need evidence for everything and don't believe when every youtuber tells them to not use flavored kombucha. Just so that people don't waste a week growing a scoby that might never grow or that will grow in like 3 months to a point where a non flavored scoby gets to in a week.

How many times can you reuse a cap before you change it ? Or is a cap only good for 1 batch?
