the model just needed some time to warm up ya know
I'm yr big fan 🥳🥳 Let's go Waterloo CS
That was the first time I heard an ML model needed warmup time 😂
It’s intern season
I got a job at 11 dimension wish me luck- lol joking
I'm taking the havard pyton cs50 courses 😊
The senior engineer never being close to a computer is pure gold
They really just be vibing
Normally he talks to his child and his dog and cooks his dinner at the same time as he is talking to you.
Agreed
i thought i was the only one who did that lol I'm always out in the morning walking or driving
the higher you make it the less you have to work
I mean the model was still accurate 50% of the time. Success!
50% accuracy with just a few lines of code. not bad.
Yep i just laughed hard so much after seeing the code 😂
with a bit of luck it can hit 99% XD
I literally ran around in my house laughing like crazy
It could be worse. It could be wrong 50% of the time.
To all interns who might see this: PLEASE TELL US IF YOU ARE STUCK. Internships are a way for you to learn by having us teach you, not us having a coding monkey for cheap.
^
That was something very difficult for me as an intern. I used to think that the senior person is gonna judge me as a dumb person
Code monkey lmao😂
What type of skills do people look for in interns?

love u pan
THANKS PAN
We need a Collab of frying pan and Nicholas T!!
@@nicholast I see what you did there
big fan
“I wrote hello world on Python and put it on my resume, now they think i am machine learning expect” i can definitely relate to that.
I actually laughed so hard when you showed the code at the end 😂😂😂
I needed this confirmation to know I wasnt crazy. Thanks stranger :)
it had me in tears hahahaha
Me and my friends did somthing like this my first year of programming and when we showed the code during a demo, our professor facepalmed hard haha.
I was slapping everything around me and dying from laughter
had me rolling on the floor for a good 10 mins
The senior engineer never getting to a computer or the company office is so realistic. Lmao.
"Puppies and bagels don't even look similar"
*True that*
This would actually be a perfect standup that would be appreciated at the company I'm at:
"On Friday I tried centering a div and brought down production and today I'm going to try not to do that"
This is gold !
I really laughed when I saw the python script...Great content man, I hope you get 100x more views
appreciate it :)
Nicholas never fails to make me laugh🤣 why the hell do the puppies in the sample data look just like bagels😭😭
This is comedy gold, one of the best programming humor I’ve seen on CZcams.
Ayy appreciate it :)
as a software engineering intern for 3 months, I can assure you that this is TRUE. Good job nick.🤣
haha thanks!
Just started my first internship!
It's freaking hard ain't it?

As a person infected with severe impostor syndrome, I always feel like a dumb person if I ask my seniors for help. I am so surprised you were able to pull that insane request off Nick! Great done and amazing content as always! :)

Wow! That was the most complex machine leaning model I've ever seen. 🤣 This video was great 👍🏼
Congrats on the sponsor! Excited to see this channel grow, you're making great content!
thank you, really appreciate it :)
Nick, I am really happy for you. Keep up the good work man!!
Appreciate it :)
Keep making these videos man. Just loving it.
so great to see your channel blowing to 50k subs !! Congratulations :)
Keep em coming
Another great skit! Keep em coming.
This video is so funny! I keep rewatching it when I feel sad and it helps me a lot ! Thank you, Nick
Glad you enjoyed it :)
I'm here again
Great Job on gettin' your first Sponsor! 💖
The puppy vs bagel picture was so perfect. A machine learning (classification) algorithm would genuinely struggle quite a bit with that photo 🤣🤣
I love that the Senior Engineer is always walking around outside, prob running personal errands, and the manager never adds any value to the meetings; just tells everyone "good job". Spot on.
Congrats on all your success man!
I laughed so many times in this video keep up the great work man !
Glad you enjoyed!
I laughed my ass off at that bagel/puppy code. That was really something.
I LOVE your videos!!! really make my day. I hope you can keep working on it, the contents are amazing and so relatable for CS students. Awesome
ayyy glad you like the videos and thanks for the support :)
I'm a few hours later than I usually am but this man's videos are unmatched. Congrats on a sponsor!!
Thanks!
man i laughed so hard when u showed the code at the end . Great vid!
1:30 You earned a like :) . Nice to see your first sponsor. All the best.
This is so funny 😂. I can relate. Great content👍🏾
I’m only about 2 months into Python but that code at the end made me spit my drink. These jokes get so much better when you can understand them!
Love your videos! They're so funny and relatable!
appreciate it :)
I’m dying holy shit love the video man❤️
Love ur video!!! You gave me confidence in bonding lol
Just starting Al Sweigart's book on Automating the Boring Stuff with Python yesterday and I am happy that I knew just enough for that code to make me laugh. Weirdly enough, that alone seems to be motivational to continue working on it.
I have been learning coding, have like a week or two of practice and I fully understood the code at the end... I consider that a 100% succes!
Love this!!!! More more more. You visualize my own fears when getting my own first internship.
Shortly after the first part was released I got an internship offer. Shortly after this video was released I was offered to stay with that company and got a solid rise. I feel like you are bringing me luck! :D
PS: In three months I will have another pay rise and test for junior position... if you know what I mean ;).
PSS: 10/10 in terms of accuracy. Great video.
Good job
Do you have a degree or did you teach yourself?
@@BM-dq3bv Hello, I would say the answer is both. I do have a computer science degree (engineer), but at the same time, I had to teach myself everything since what I needed wasn't part of my degree's program. Usually, higher education teaches the basics of language while everything else you need to do yourself.
In case of my company knowledge about: Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate and REST was necessary to pass through both project and later technical interview. While my degree covers only the basics of Java.
Don't worry though - requirements for internships even for big tech companies like mine are... quite low honestly. You need to know the basics and barebones to be able to make the simple project (10-12 hours of work in my case) while everything else you will be taught during internship/junior.
@@maksgraph.47jm90 congrats man.
I am also learning to code. And now I am doing projects in react and tailwind css.
Trying to get a internship or full time by the end of August.
PS = post script
So should add another p to make it

You earned a new sub 😁,
Keep on with the content, motivates me more
Your videos make me feel much better about my career choice and i absolutely live for them
ayyy
@nicholast Yo I've had a job for 2 years now! This vid just popped up again lol! It's still just as funny.
I'm a Mech Eng. senior who did some research using Machine Learning, and lemme tell ya after a few hours of learning how it all works I genuinely felt accomplished by importing numpy, tensorflow and keras xD
Ayy, man's getting sponsored!!🥳
Truly a big boi chanel now
I'll be honest these videos make working as in tech seem like a really nice working environment
The best part is the code at the end. Lmao 50-50
This is so true. In fact, I ended up here trying to research stuff for my new project.
"Hopefully no one needs a code review from me" - me everytime lol
"Bringing down production" - me. guilty.
"Don't worry it happens" - our mindset lol
I think you missed your calling as a comedy writer.. Your sketches are brilliant. Thank you for sharing!
Glad you like them :)
Ahh the code is Godly.
New subscriber🤞
Too good, i laughed so hard!!!! SDE internships are brutal !!!
Boy, I absolutely love your content !
I literally LOLed when I saw the finished code! 🤣
damn, that's actually pretty good. I spent a month on a machine learning project that only worked 33% of the time so...
See this is called efficiency
laughed way to loud lol.. Great job man!
Love your videos
senior SE always walking in the nature is a great detail btw :D
Binging your videos, and I got to say, that "How to build a machine learning model in one day?" question from Stack Overflow got me laughing. How is that not closed as off-topic? Regardless, that question is for you. Great video :)
Awesome video!
the one frame where you looked confused looking at the bagels and dogs lmfao 🤣🤣
Its been a month since I am training for full stack web developer,in the mean break time I watch your videos.but today at the last of video ,I couldn't hold my laughing ,great content ..Refreshes minds
Crying at the senior engineer always out walking never really paying attention to the call lmfao
finally part 2 !!!
laughed my butt off at the code reveal 😂😂
Couldn't relate more about getting a project like that in internship 😂
Thought this was the same old gimmicky software engineering channel but I was wrong. This is a goldmine
hilarious video :D keep up the good work
Thanks :)
@@nicholast knic would be proud :)
Lool I was howling after I saw the actual code of the puppy bagel thing 😂😂
When I saw ur source code... LMAO!!! ;)..... good one! Nick
I wasn't expecting that PR code review, died laughing
The end was too funny!
Normally this videos are a brief exhale occasionally but the Senior dev saying guilty when the manager said the end-to-end testing suck murdered me on the spot
Yooo the big time rush playing had me dead😂😂😂
As someone currently in a internship, I feel called out.
Yo~~ I would have been clueless if I didn't knew coding or ML process 🤣🤣🤣
model performs great until the seniors check coding 🤣 !!
That's great video 👍
love the joma-style sponsor twist xD
Senior software engineer here. Absolutely brilliant video. Bravo! I especially love the how there's only roughly a 0.8% chance that the code would get puppy/bagel correct 8 times in a row hahaha (well it's technically 7, but if you pretend it's a coin flip, the first "correct" result would just be setting the example for the following 7 results, so... close enough I guess?). Maybe this was intentional, maybe not, as it's a bit of a stretch, but I love how close it is to being exactly that regardless!
Loved the code 🤣🤣🤣
The actual ML code 😭😭😂😂😂.
You are the goat man
I LOLED SO HARD
import random
def puppy_or_bagel:
x = random.uniform(0,1)
if x > 0.5
return "puppy"
return "bagel"
I died laughing, you are so hilarious, your videos just lessen my stress
You just gotta believe in yourself man !!!
Man I want part 3 now
1:50 Honestly, with the time it takes to set up TensorFlow from scratch with no help, that is pretty solid work
Lmfao I feel proud of myself because I used to look at r/coding and different coding memes and laugh with imposter syndrome not understanding why it was funny, but now I laugh because I understand the code but I dont understand why its funny :) thanks to educative, I can now understand why its funny.. and understand.. the code?
LOL
hey i am a big fan of ur vids! keep it up. im in gr 12 rn and i hope to get into waterloo cs. Any tips? because im taking virtual school cuz of covid so im worried that might hinder my application
This was so funny to me. i‘m currently doing a machine learning internship, but would have no clue about any web dev tasks lmao
And yes, got exactly what i waited for.
Oh no, that code made me laugh waaaaay more than it should have
Senior engineers are usually in design meetings with higher ups and when called upon are usually expected to raise onn their shoulders like Atlas. So business/communication/domain knowledge with a feel for code..
Part 3 pleaseee!!!
And now I'm nervous for my demo project haha
😅😅 nice one sometimes uniform distribution better than actual model predictions
“99.2% accuracy”
More day in my life vlogs plzzzz🤧😭✨📸
The python script was brilliant!!
Tomorrow I'll be assigned to a project as a software engineer intern. Man, now im really scared af, cant sleep.
You got this
I'm helping managing an intern this fall, Internships are a way for you to learn by having us teach you, not us having a coding monkey for cheap. So never feel bad or stupid to ask question of admit you need help. Senior programmers also needs help, that's how our work is: collaborative.
@@nicholast Thanks dude! I hope I don't break their project like you did lol
@@vivas555 Thank you for the advice. Yup, I always try to be open and collaborative ever since my training started. I am just a bit nervous cause I really do not know what to expect lol.
Hahahahahah man.. love these videos.
I choked on my coffee when I saw the code. Hilarious!
Senior Manager: What libraries did you use for your model?
