I played close to the this exact (starting) deck to do a blind Hemlock Vale run and it was excellent. Different in my upgrades though. It was only two investigators so focusing on upgrading into Fingerprint Kit (4) didn't make sense as most locations had 2 or 4 clues on them. Instead I focused on Pocket Multi Tool, spending 8xp on it (Detachable, Pry Bar, Magnifying Lens, and Spring-Loaded) These were the differences in the starter deck: Tool Belt -> Backpack Old Key Ring -> Pocket Multi Tool Pushed to the Limit -> Safe Guard Safeguard saves you move actions, and ensures you're usually on the same space as your other investigator to help them out with the pocket multitool as needed.
Thanks very much for doing a video about one of the newer investigators. There are such a lot of videos and discussions out there about the investigators from the early sets. Even if you don't feel you've 100% mastered the investigators, I love that you're doing these. Keep 'em coming.
I was looking through the internet for references to crosscheck with my Wilson list, and the one I have looks petty similar. I plan to build this such that I use upgraded Keyring in conjunction with upgraded Flashlight as a second set of Deduction-on-a-stick. Flashlight even cleanly slips in with with Cleaning Kit. I'm still undecided if I want Geared Up or not. It becomes really, really good once you have Backpack (2), but is kinda clunky before you get Backpack (2). One thing I find pretty funny for Wilson is that our Handyman, the man with the 0-5 tools restriction, the character who is depicted being crafty, can't play Crafty. It's so sad, the card would be so good in his deck.
As a note Backpack(2) is only in Return to the Forgotten Age Personally I'd probably stick with level 0 Lantern and Backpack and instead push for Cleaning Kit(3) to dump the E.Cache(3) supplies' onto. I love this idea though, and if I wasn't in a "I've played too many Guardian cards" rut (last played Leo and Yorick) I would probably do this next.
I was the patron who played flex Wilson yesterday. Definitely agree that Wilson is a great all 3s investigator. I do like your dedicated clue deck I maybe would have done lockpicks instead of lantern so that fine tuning has two great targets.
My original version had Lockpicks, but I think you only get 7 when you investigate with Lockpicks, so I thought they'd be less valuable. I feel as though Lantern has a better "dance" with Fingerprint Kit. We use the Kit on the bigger shrouds and Lantern on the lower shrouds. Lantern has a better synergy with Pushed to the Limit, so it has a higher ceiling and a higher floor than Lockpicks for me personally.
I thought so too, but I'm playing a main fighter Wilson deck right now and it is actually extremely viable. It's surprising to me, but I think Wilson is actually better than I thought he was going to be.
@@marylincherie1806 I don't have a deck tech, but I brought a fighter Wilson to my blind Hemlock run. You can find that deck here: czcams.com/video/LLInB5Vx7BQ/video.html
@@PlayingBoardGamesThanks for answering. I have not played Hemlock so far and wanna go in as blind as possible. Do I have to worry about to many spoilers?
@@marylincherie1806 To be honest, I don't really remember if I spoiled anything in the video (I believe I tried to keep it as spoiler free as possible), but I believe there are links to the decks on ArkhamDB in the video description.
Maybe i am too dumb for this game but i donˋt get the deck. What do you do when you HAVE to fight an enemy (maybe because you and your other investigator draw too many or your partner is 2-3 locations away)? Ich have to include stuff to fight. I don‘t know how to survive with this deck not mentioning the bad cards with testing brain. Can someone explain it to me?

Fantastic deck idea. You're rocking this deck tech series, Justin. Hope you keep it going after finishing the FHV investigators!
That's the plan! I am thinking of starting at the core investigators and building an "off-meta" deck for each of the investigators in the game.

I also think it's nice that Wilson gets to play Field Agent. It's not a card you see often, but it's quite solid here.

I would think backpack 2 is one of the most proxie cards in the whole game

Wow!!! Love it!!! Also the way how you explain the deck … awesome!!!
There's so many ways to build Wilson I really want to see him get Bryn's Madhouse'd.
Cool deck. Feels that Wilson is more reliable as a main cluever than a main fighter when not flexing.

@@PlayingBoardGameshave you a video about the fighter build, too? I am not satisfied with the build I have created.

Multiplayer with cluing Wilson Richards, fighting Wilson Richards and ??? Wilson Richards?
Say “Fingerprint Kit” ten times fast
"Finger Pwint Kit" (How our group jokingly says it! 😂
Can 4 supplies go on the fingerprint kit when you play emergency kit, or does it cap at 3?
Unless the card specifies a maximum, the "Uses X whatsits" keyword only specifies the starting number of whatsits, not the max.
As long as an effect doesn't "replenish" uses, it can go above the maximum.
I found Prince!
No, no. Fingerprints!
