Always guessed the right engine type. but seriously... If its the VR6 in the Golf or the VR6 in the cupra is pretty hard..
Enrico Palazzo the only reason I got that is because I was Thinking it's a vr6 but it sounded weaker than the golf

I honestly expected something a bit easier, some people don't make a difference between a v6 and v10 and here we're trying to guess if its the VW engine in the Cupra or the VW engine in the golf :)))))))

Ивелин Димитров Exhaust does alter the sound, but firing order gives engines the distinctive sounds. That's why it's amazing if someone can't hear a difference between V6 and V10.
worst quiz ever. guess the engine and you put after market exhaust sounds. going for lucky guesses. that 1jz with the blow off was stupid. m235 wasnt stock either nor the CGT
+nashaat So? Tuned exhausts help in some cases. Straight piped volvo I5 vs audi I5 sound very different. Stock exhaust sounds the same. You just need to be more familiar with certain motor sounds. There are very minor but distinct differences in sound between similar motors and tuned exhaust helps identify those marks if you know exactly what to listen for in a high quality sound clip. I thought it was great. 4/5 right. Want more.

+VisioRacer The rules screen with music background is way too long there. I managed to read it trough almost 4 times, what's the point? If someone is slow,they can pause the video.

+Jaafar Farhan I understand what you say, but Subaru is not the best example. I think Subaru is the easiest to identify as a boxer engine, they make this unique sound that we are used to hear since Colin Mcrae's WRC Impreza. I mean, you probably don't need to hear the turbo whistle to tell it is a Subaru.. For me, the hardest ones are the turbocharged 4 cylinders, I can't tell the difference between a lot of them.
TheLaXandro I'm sorry but no Porsche sounds like that. Porsche has a very distinct engine noise throughout their coupes and roadsters (if your talking about a Porsche with a stock exhaust). With the low rumble, a characteristic most middle end stock performance models have these days, you had only one option and it was the BMW.
It has that BMW rasp to it and I just instantly knew it was a bimmer.
I own an FRS and for me it sounded nothing like a boxer but that's just me lmao

Yes, there have already been suggestions to use stock engines only. And most likely there will be sequel later on.
VisioRacer No I meant to use clearer engine noises. The Carrera GT noise was excellent. The Seat VR6 noise was hard to hear properly because it wasn't a high quality recording.

The Golf and the Leon sound the same because they have pretty much almost the same engine just a little smaller displacement. But its VW Group.. I got that wrong, I answered Golf R32. Will it count to me as a point? If it does I have 4 points, if not 3 :D

It is older cars rather than modern cars that I am more able to guess by the sound of the engine, particularly the unmistakable, Volkswagen Beetle, Fiat 500, Citroen 2CV, Mini and Morris Minor.

All the lucky Bois who got the V6 Leon. I love the VR6 and the Leon cupra but in the UK we only got FWD 1.8Ts, which I can't complain about because that's still an amazing car and engine
I could definitely tell why type of engine each one was but not from which specific cars

I came here trying to distinguish between 2,4,8 cylinder sound vs 3,6,12 and 5,10,15 ... XD
At least i was able to distinguish all of them
i got 3, 4, and 5 right.
3 and 5 were process of elimination but 4 was super easy

I got 4/5, I mixed up the VR6s and I almost got the 4th one (BMW) wrong until I heard the very fair to turbo whistle ;)

I'll say I scored 2.5, because with the last two cars I were lucky, like "it's either this one or that one", the first two ones were too easy to identify, and #3 trolled me hard
5 of 5 no lie. I almost said rb26 for #1, but the last clip changed my mind, they are very similar sound obviously not 2jz though. #2 was a piece of cake. #3 i knew wasn't a vq35 or a Vw vr6, so i guessed seat, never heard one before though until now. #4 EZ m8 flat 6 vs straight 6 sound sooo different. #5 that audi low pitched exhaust note made it easy.
The only difference between the vw vr6 and the seat one is probably the exhaust and engine size since they're both made by Volkswagen
+Thomas you dumb nugget the seat is a vw vr6 just the earlier model and it sounds pretty much the same as its the exact same engine just with 2.8 liter instead of 3.2

What is the difference between a seat VR6 and a VW VR6, really? And what about the second one, which the frist sound clip sounded completly different from eachother?
I can't tell 6 cylinders apart, they all sound the same to me besides the 1/2jz and the RB motors
I got a few right, which I consider good enough for having never been around many of these cars. I walked past a parked Fiat once ( it was not running), and I am aware that a company called SEAT exists though they aren't sold here.
