I was talking to my 50 year old dad about a guy who I liked watching on CZcams who pretends to be old ladies and messes with scammers, and he got excited and was like “OH you mean kitboga???”. And we had a little fan-girl moment that we both enjoyed the same CZcamsr and started talking about our favorite videos by him lol

As much as I love laughing at the shenanigans we witness on this channel, that was one of those bits that kinda hit me hard. I had a similar experience in my own personal life a couple of years after my dad died, when someone in the family found some song recordings he made and burnt them to cds for Mom, my sister and myself. It still gut punches me as being so beautifully bittersweet to this day.
Kit is a genius at getting the scammers to do stupid stuff for our entertainment.

When he asked me for my credit card number, I asked him "What's my name?" I figured he would get it right because other scammers knew my name since it's part of the information they buy. But the dope said, "Skyler Fox", a woman's name! I had to laugh right in his ear because that was just plain stupid.

The number of people who fall for it is rare and it is getting rarer. One scammer said it was about 1 in 1000.
I have watched a lot of these videos and the videos from 2021, 2022 show that they are often trying to get +10,000$. In some cases, they want 50 k$.
The owner of the call center gives them a base salary but I think after a couple of weeks, if you aren't making money, you get fired.

A lot of it is due to language and cultural barriers, but I’ve also noticed in Kit’s videos that most of these scammers are NOT active listeners. Basically they smile and nod, might veer off script to give the victim a false sense of safety/camaraderie (like when this guy started singing to that terrible song), but they usually go back to selective hearing and don’t catch Kit’s trolling until it’s too late.

I've often pondered how the sheer insanity of some of these scenarios, even to a greed crazed scammer sounds even the most infinitesimal bit feasible.
Do they not understand the use of sarcasm, embellishment, hyperbole, in the English language? Even worse....if they are aware of the inescapable conclusion the person they're talking to is pulling their leg.....why keep playing along with that?
@@JamesSmith-gk8sz I think it's a combination of things, but most particularly English not being their native language, sheer outright greed and the sunk cost fallacy. Them not being native English speakers means that they do miss things that would be obvious to anyone for whom English is their first language. The outright greed fuels them and the sunk cost fallacy means even if they're starting to suspect something, they're willing to grasp at any straw as it drags on for hours and they're hoping there's any chance that they can just get *something* out of it. Kitboga has mentioned the sunk cost fallacy at least a couple of times directly, most notably during the "Baited" saga with Adam and Alex that ended up dragging on for over 36 hours.

Actually there's a CZcams content creator here that hacks them and it's insane watching his work. To the point he's done more than waste time but expose scammers locations, hack their cameras etc. To even getting establishments shut down. I forget his name however I'll find his channel and post it here

@@chuckybang These guys are probably based overseas. There is very little chance of them getting caught and being imprisoned. But what this does is it highlights these guys and what they are doing.
Maybe 100's of people. Who knows how many?10? Saved their life savings just because he was on the phone and they never knew he exists.Real grandma and grandpa and mom and dad.Its funny and all but that's what it really boils down to.
