Glad to see the Cooperativo. I’m just finishing a month there. I learned a lot and really enjoyed it. Great teachers and an amazing atmosphere.

About the hair and the sweater every day… That’s what I call a low maintenance traveler.👍
Keep it simple so you can enjoy more…

Simple is not part of my wife’s vocabulary but it’s nice to see other people enjoying the application of the concept…

Enjoyed your video! I’ll have to check out more. I want to go to Guatemala to study Spanish but I’m a gringo and worried about security. Did you all feel safe while there? From your video you didn’t seem to have any issues.

You should definitely go! We felt super safe there. Only issues we ran into were the wild dogs 😂. We definitely will be returning to continue learning Spanish!

hello patricia, I wanted to go ahead and ask you something. I am half Hispanic but can only understand and speak very little. I desperately want to become fluent and have just found out about this school. However, every person I've seen go there has gone with a companion. As a woman do you think it would be safe to travel alone to Guatemala? Did you feel safe? did you get many stares? plz lmk I desperately want to do this.

Hi Jessica! Thanks so much for reaching out. I personally would travel to Guatemala as a solo female traveler. I wouldn’t stay in Guatemala City (I haven’t heard the best things about it). I’d fly into Guatemala City, and head straight to San Pedro to attend this school. I didn’t get any stares and I felt comfortable walking around the town day and night. Sometimes I went off on my own and felt completely fine. This is my honest opinion because I would never recommend solo female traveling in Morocco or Egypt. But I believe Guatemala is welcoming for solo female travelers. I made many girl friends traveling alone on some of the treks I did solo as well.
Please ask me any other questions you have. I’m so happy to share my experiences with other travelers. ☺️☺️
