Rubble is a gem, and Simpatico remains a favorite of mine. In 1994, while Britpop was ascending, we still had our own great bands like Velocity Girl, Judybats, the Muffs.
cant believe i didnt discover them in the 90s. ive seen Superchunk and Juliana Hatfield and other indie darlings at this venue. 96. geez. i was going to the paradise, tt the bears, and all cool venues on Landsdown street. how did i miss Velocity Girl. stumbled upon them on youtube about 10 years ago and i was like oh my god this exactly what i love.
Love how Sarah runs over to fix the guitar strap at the beginning of My Forgotten Favorite. She kind of resemebles Hayley Williams from Paramore here. Such a great band. Thanks for uploading.
You were truly living the dream of a number of us who got through our early/mid-'90s Uni daze with massive amounts of VG as a sonic backdrop to our studies. Sarah was something special, but the whole band was great.
Criminally under recognized and under appreciated band. Of all of the 90s band that have done reunions in the past decade, this is the one that I pine for the most.
Thanks for uploading this. It's like watching a blast from the past, as I was at this show. They broke up not too long after this tour. I think that Lauren Hoffmann opened for VG on this tour.
To me they've always felt like a band that could have only ever existed during the 90's and I mean that in the best possible way. I still wish they had stuck around a little longer though.
@@robvillanueva1661 even with the craziness around at that time, it was still infinitely better than what we're having to deal with in the 2020s. So glad I was around back then as a music-obsessed Design student at Uni. So many great bands around then really did help fuel my own creativity, but maybe I took too many of them for granted, thinking they'd be around a lot longer than that turned out to be the case, as with VG.
My god that voice... That wall of guitar sound... Takes me back to the day I bought the John Peel CD. I REALLY need a time machine...

i love rubble so much. so many great VG songs.
I think you mean the Spinanes and Bikini Kill
@@buttdisease I think you meant to keep The Muffs in that list. Kim Shattuck can still kick everyone's arse.
I got tired of The Muffs very quickly.

Man I loved this band so much
her voice really set VG aside from most similar bands of the era
along with letters to chloe this band was criminally underrated
This is as brilliant as love is supposed to sound. Ear candy ;)

Got a kiss on the cheek from her and a guitar pick from Archie
Hell yeah

Thank you for posting! I would love to see them play Labrador but seeing Drug Girls is pretty amazing.
Viva velocity girl!!!!
Underrated Band i really Love VG
yeah, their last album was so good and accessible, it baffles me that they got so little attention
