She literally come out of knowhere and blew the music world apart. The album is a classic from beginning to end.
No back up singers needed with this power house. No fancy outfits, makeup, costume changes just singing her heart out. Alanis, you're one of a kind. Thank you for allowing us into your gifted universe of song writing and singing. Shout out to her backup band. Bravo everyone.
Its hard to watch without crying... its a snapshot of my life, i remember vividly like it was yesterday me and the vcr...watching this on loop.
25 years? How time flies.
She's been singing for nearly 30 years. Her debut album was the pop album Alanis in 1991.
Ms Morissette is one of the greatest singer/songwriters of all time - and she ranks with Dylan (Freewheelin), Springsteen (BTR), Fleetwood Mac (Rumours) or Nirvana (Nevermind). It is rare that an album comes along that is so complete, so compelling, and offers the listener extraordinary raw storytelling from start to finish.
A long time ago, I remember having coffee with Max Keeping (now-deceased tv anchor in Ottawa) and we were commenting at the time of this home-grown dance music, anthem singing talent from Glebe Collegiate. He said of Ms Morissette, 'this isn't the real her, there is something deep inside this young woman burning to be unleashed". Wait for it he said, "she'll change the world".
JLP was released 3-years later.
Her vocabulary and her theories are absolutely amazing. She makes you think. And she’s smart. I love it. That’s what makes her so great. She’s unique. She’s phenomenal all the way around.
RIP Taylor. Your energy pushed the group to the sky. I love you, man 🥁💔

I used to watch every single day before school. I love Alanis since 1996
The soundtrack to my 90's.
To all new generation: You must watch this one to know how enjoying the real music show is, without having mobile phone recording at the venue... just jumping & singing together, enjoying every magical seconds of it!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Jagged Little Pill was the most overplayed cassette tape I ever owned. I was in 5th grade and cursing along with the lyrics. I grew up fine 😂
Ladies and gentlemen THE GODDESS OF ROCK. She is so powerful!!!!!
Ricardo Raisman I agree. Very few women have power for rock. Anastasia is the only other musician that has power in the voice.
I was lucky enough to be at one of these shows (Tropicana Field - then the ThunderDome - in St. Pete). One of the best times I've ever had. When she goes nuts at the end of "You Learn" is unbelievably awesome. Alanis will always be one of the all-time greats. Oh, BTW - RIP Taylor.😪
i was at the fort lauderdale show in 96 for this tour - i remember it so well. i cant believe how much time has passed and how old i've gotten
This record always spoke so loudly my feeling even till this day😭🥰✨
This is so iconic!!! take me back directly to the best of the 90's
This legendary album is the greatest representation of how impeccable 90's music genre is. Thank you so much Alanis for blessing the music industry then and for the next generation. We love you ❤️
i've watched this video like a hundred times and still look forward to it. i miss the 90s... to a degree.
I can see why this was a very special time to Alanis. It was to us as well because we were there enjoying this music.
I bought tickets to Nashville in June! Can't wait! Loved her since the first day I heard her!
Amo este concierto, Alanis tan auténtica, súper talentosa
The song "Perfect" still cuts at me even after all these years having grown up in a household whee your self worth is measured by grades and school achievement.
I can't describe what I feel with Alanis. It's so true.
Jagged Little Pill was the first album I really got into as a teenager. Good times
I can listen to her uninterrupted everyday, I am enchanted by her voice, her modest persona, her positivity, her poetry, Man!i can go on and on 😍❤️
My biggest inspiration as a musician. I love her forever!
Happy 25th Anniversary, JLP! Thank you. You have been very meaningful to my life. ❤️
i loooove your simplicity and efficient wording, and want to say YESSSSS that's what i have in me as well. you nailed it 😉👍 just want to say, '' ditto. '' 😃🎉♥️🎶🐦
I used to come home from school every day and watch this on VHS when I was 12. Mega influenced and so grateful xx
What a great energy, I can feel it .
I love Alanis music. She is unique !!!
I respect Alanis for many reasons and a standout is that after 25 years since Jagged Little Pill, today she is just as authentic and raw vocally and lyrically as ever ❤
She is my favourite artist and songwriter, her words are relatable, has the amazing ability to connect and healing 😊
Still can't believe I'm on this Video in Australia from 1996,an now I'm 40.
I made a part of History🙏 so blessed 🙌
i am in the zone watching this 🤘
pure energy 👌🎉❤️🎶🎼🎵🥁🎆
My childhood passed infant of my eyes here!!! i heard this album 300mil times. you Rock Alanis. Love from Belgium.
One of the best albums from the 90’s. 💗
What a band!! Taylor, Chris, Tobias, crazy when you think about it! Best rythm section even today in my book.
She got the best musicians that she could had... They MADE that sound that 25 years later STILL give us goosebumps 🤘
I love her beautiful smile. Takes me right back to the day and much better times.
She was (still is) so authentic. That's why she went straight into our hearts with no tricks. She was just a 19 year old girl opening her soul. And when nobody in the industry gave a shit about it, someone at Maverick could see that the album was a gem. And then BUMB! One of the best albums ever made and one of the best voices of our generation. 25 years laters we can still find a new significate to every song. And she was so young and suddenly so overwhelmed by becoming a big star in just a few months. We know it was hard for her to process such a success and fame..u did it great girl. !!
Years ago, I recorded an ABC 20/20 entitled, "So you want to be a rock star?" featuring her. I only got the first half, and the tape ran out. It was a fantastic, quick doc on how hard this business is, and how this Woman became an overnight superstar. I would pay more than a few bucks to have that show. LOL ❤
Love to see you then, love to see you know! I won't forget the very first time I heard Ironic on the radio! Your a key part of my youth! Thank you!
I especially love the intro to forgiven during this. Something about it feels extremely nostalgic . I feel like I’m being welcomed back into the 90s
Yeah that's freaking true 👏💕😍i do not feel any shame living in the shadow of my childhood, old music is much better than the trashy music nowadays.I was about 6 when JLP released.
I love you Alanis, you are great, amazing!!
She’s such great live singer better live than any recorded version of her songs. That’s when you know how great a singer & performer Alanis is. A true talent. Taylor Hawkins & her band were brilliant during these live shows. Just another note that Taylor said the tour around the world for jagged little pill was more hedonistic & crazy than anything he done with the Foo Fighters; ✌️👍✌️
Remember not getting this special CD out of my CD changer at all back in the 90s. Yes, well have to admit I always had a crush on her. Ehm, still have...what a voice, what a singer, what a writer...
This is one of my all time favourite, I think best live concert on DVD. And I saw a lot !
So brilliant and magistral. I love you Ali❤ Forever
I have this in VHS and DVD. Now having it here is also great. I've watched this countless times. My favorite singer and lyricist of all time.
Loved this album for 25 years, never gets old, gets better loud!
I’ve watched this like a million times, when I was a teenager. “Jagged little pill” helped me through a lot back then. Great seeing it again years later. Thanks Alanis -for everything!!!🧡
Se isso ficar no youtube eu vou assistir todos os dias da minha vida para a alanis saber que para mim isso é uma perfeição.
Thank you Alanis for all these wonderful pieces of music. Such a powerful lady 🤘
JLP will always rock our hearts and minds. 💜💛💖💙💚
Rest In Peace Taylor. I'm watching some of this after getting back from the tribute concert at Wembley. It was an incredible and emotional night.
Seen her twice and am dying to see this tour. She is one of the most dynamic on stage performers i have ever had the pleasure of seeing. Her lyrics are from the heart and her voice is angelic I will when I finally pass have her music playing at my wake n my funeral and will have my copy of JAGGED LITTLE PILL with me in my coffin. She should be inducted into Canada's as well as the U.S rock n roll hall of fame NOW
I had just turned 4 years old, almost 2 months prior when jagged little pill came out in June 1995. So I very much grew up on her music. A great album then, a classic album now. Still very much holds up to this day.
She wrote this when she was 19!!!!
Channel Love to the Maximum
Right On Young Poet❤️❤️❤️
I am having nostalgia! I miss the 90’s! ❤️💕❤️💕❤️💕
Very blessed to have this on DVD great compilation of that era
I don't want to miss it!Saw her live performance of You ought to Know at Howard Stern show and she was a GEM😍😍😍
Alana we love ❤️ you. Your music was magic in the past, is still in the presence, will be in future and for eternity.
This kind of person only comes around once in a great great while the first time I heard her I knew what she could be she's the best female singer that I've ever heard people like that you want to protect and treasure but sometimes it don't work out right God bless you Alanis please take care of yourself you giving us you so now you've got my heart
That was such a great band line up. So much talented people. The energy the gave to the concerts was amazing. Perfect to complement Alanis spectacular voice.
I agree. I love Alanis and her band at that time was a huge part of her stage presence. There is no way she can recreate that again.
I watched this a lot as a kid I remember seeing her for the first time after listening to the album. I was so drawn to her voice, I think I was probably 4 years old. I begged my dad like every few weeks to buy me more Alanis albums. I would have never written music if it wasn’t for her. I’m forever grateful for her inspiration to me and many others
Hi there! Your personal story resonates with mine. I'm a Spaniard guy, from Seville SPAIN. I was born 11/22/1990. So I was also 4 year-old kid when JLP first came out in the summer of 1995. Actually, Alanis' big breakthrough year (here in Spain and in the rest of Europe) was 1996. That memorable year of my childhood everybody went bananas over Alanis (literally) and her music was all over the place! That winter of 1996 my older cousin bought me a present that wound up being my first-ever super-precious record (from any artist, including my Spanish faves): Alanis' Jagged Little Pill!!! The real soundtrack of my childhood alongside Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie later in 1998. Ever since, through my early teens, my later adolescence, and now adulthood Alanis has always accompanied my through her music. In my brighter and darker days, through the highs and lows... I just love her sooo much, she truly means a lot to me and my life. To the point that (still today) whenever I listen to JLP when I'm alone it always brings a tear to my eye. I kinda reminisce the innocent little boy I once was, singing Alanis songs sooo loud yet being clueless about the meaning of her lyrics. (Not only was I a kid, but I also didn't know a word of English back then being myself a Spanish native speaker). Mine has always been such an organic relationship with her music, up to this day. I LOVE her!!!! Just can't wait for her European Tour in the fall 2021 ;-) We miss her loads here in Spain!!!
Fernando Núñez Álvarez her music will always be special. She’s a one of a kind artist who’s art can resonate with most anyone. I had no idea what she was singing about then either 😂. But I knew that it meant something real and she was feeling it. To me, that is real music! I was actually born in 1998 so I don’t remember any eras of hers until I think the so called chaos era. But I remember all of her albums made a huge impact on me and my relationship with music. I can’t wait for the tour either! I’m going to see her at the beach!
We love you Alanis!!!
Listening to this marvellous woman always takes me back to a better time
She could write my biography. Every song she does I can relate to. I’d absolutely love to meet her one day. She got me through A LOT. She saved my life...
Thank you for getting me through my childhood, through my teenage years and now my adulthood. Thank you.
Second best selling Female solo album of all time ladies and gentlemen (and it was the best selling one at first). Iconic!
Thank you Alanis 💖💖💖💖
Back then i was mainly a Hip-Hop listener, yet this album was always at the top of my pile, it probably got more playtime than anything else i owned at the time :)
Awesome! I loooooove this documentary! I won't miss It!!! 💜💜💜💜
I love Alanis! 🎤🎶😍❤️
I should have known Taylor Hawkins was her drummer. I had Jagged Little Pill but never had the time to research her band. Single Moms have very little free time. He rocks! Love this documentary. ❤️
All the Feels. Thank You so Much. We love you Alanis!!
My favorite singer of all time. I have grown and connected with her songs since I was a teenager (era of Jagged Little Pill) and have felt the shift to calm as her song matures with her as well. So excited and looking forward to seeing her perform in a few months. Definitely walk to memory lane.
I remember when Alanis came to New Zealand in the 90's. I went to her Wellington concert and then, some time later, she did a free concert at Aotea Square in Auckland. One of the best concerts I've been to Got sunburnt really bad. It was worth it
One of the best DVD collections I have of Alanis!
Love you, Alanis! JLP is a record very important to me! 💕
Watched the HBO doco,, didnt realise , Alanis was another Tiffany, Debbie Gibson at the age of 15,,, then , thankfully, at 19 we got Jagged little pill,, what an album, what a wonderful women.
This album is an absolute masterpiece! ❤🎵🎶
This is why I love Alanis Morissette so much. I can’t wait to hear her new album, see the musical Jagged Little Pill and see her at Tampa on August 17th, 2021. I hope she gets inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame.
How was the show? I was at the September 25th show, and it was magical.
I used to watch this soooo many times!! I actually became a fan of hers by her second album in 1998 when I was 15!
The album that keeps on giving!😍🎶🎸
I had this on VHS back in the day!! I have been wanting to watch/see this again!! Yay Alanis!!
The best rocker / alternative singer ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Miss you alanis.
Alanis was my first love. I kissed her posters, and as a 12 year old girl, it confused me. I came here today to watch this because of Taylor Hawkins. Rest in peace ✌️☮️ ♥️♥️
This album is the only thing that remained in my collection.
An absolute monster of an album...one of the best ever recorded
I remember what a sensation this album made twenty-five years ago. it sounds great now and is not at all outdated. Bravo, Alanis!
25 years later and I still love this!!!
I still have my original VHS tape of JLP Live!❤ Watched many times in my youth. Nice to see it re-released so I can watch it on my tv now.
Amazing. When the world was just simply a better place.
it was a trip to my past, to my deepest feelings, to my young girl inside, to the most important emotions I've ever felt, to the beginning of my eternal youth.
Was due to see Alanis perform for the first time this year in London, now it's going to be a long wait but it'll be worth it
Stay safe everyone
I've watched this so many times... I might pop the DVD back in and make my kids go crazy
My 3 kids loved this CD as much as I did! There wasn’t any discussion of what to play in the car. I pushed play & we all sang!❤️💥💥

I'll be here.
Saw her in concert in 95 or 96 in Charlotte, NC. So young and beautiful with all that energy. Those damn Canadiens ❤️❤️❤️. What a beautiful soul. I can’t believe it’s been 25 years
I Love THIS Era ❤️❤️
My dad saw Ms Morissette twice. Once opening for Counting Crows, and once at one of those 'songwriter evenings' at a small club. Both in Toronto. Loved them both. (He also wrote a magical realism screenplay entitled 'I Married Alanis Morissette'.)
How many of us love this woman? She’s a music legend, she’s an inspiration
INDEED!!!💯💚
There’s no reason to hate her.
She’s an unanimity!!
She changed my life in this or with this álbum.
She revolutioned my entire universe
I do
I reserve love for my loved ones, but i like her a lot.
