Avatar would’ve been more interesting if the RDA is opposed by not only the Na’vi but also opposed by a powerful confederation of multiple alien species that is similar to the United Nations albeit more aggressive and more effective.
It was supposed to come out last year, but they pushed it back to this yeah. That was a great idea I think.
@@MarshalMarrs Ummm, have they or are they colonizing other planets other than Pandora? Or are they in touch with other species from other planets? If not, your comment wouldn't make sense, as I'm sure the lore isn't about some star-wars multi-planetary alien galactic federation or whatever, but mainly just about Pandora, and the Sky-people.

I'd actually say that instead it would be fun to have a human group allied with the Na'vi, since that was the take-away from the first movie was that not all of the humans agree with the actions of the RDA. They could have worked in the ability to play as human or Na'vi through this, it was something that peeved me a little about the 2009 game was that I couldn't play as a human traitor, just an RDA ally or an Avatar Na'vi ally.

I appreciate that this game trailer is 80% gameplay. It's a great selling point for sure. I am hyped for this game and hope that it is full and well developed by release time. I'd gladly wait 4-5 years for a game like this.
The first avatar game was my childhood. I can remember playing it over and over again. THIS Has unleashed my nostalgia and I am so excited!!
Literally the video game of my dreams. I grew up playing the original 2009 Ubisoft game, and still play it today. Absolutely my #1 on the list of games for me to be excited about.
This is not 2009 Ubisoft. There’s tons of reused assets and animations visible in this trailer itself; I’d advise to be cautiously optimistic.

@@kelpyyyyy it’s very subtle, but they reused a lot of the animations from their Far Cry games. Look at the first person sprinting animation, for example.

@@galvendorondo that's not how game development works lol. Far Cry runs on the Dunia engine and is produced by the teams at Ubisoft Toronto. Avatar runs on the latest iteration of the Snowdrop engine, and is made by the teams at Massive Entertainment in Sweden. It's all made from scratch ;)

Looks absolutely incredible! As a big Avatar-Fan since the first movie, I can't wait for this game! Don't rush it. Take your time to make the world, the story, the music and everything else as best as it could be. I'd rather wait longer (yes, even years) and then get a really, really good game than have it come out too early and then be full of bugs or lack story and other content. So again, take your time!

The fact that it has aspects of far cry, horizon, ark etc. is so nice to see. I love these types of games, can’t wait to play it!!!

@@godofeternals I dont think meta could handle this type of game if it goes to vr. unless you want to to be laggy or not as good quality. you should get something like Valve Index or Vive pro.

I’m a little nervous because of the track record of big companies turning nonvideogame products into videogames and vice versa BUT the game looks gorgeous and gives realistic BOTW vibes, I’m excited for this one. I really hope it goes well!
Ubisoft has made a game for Avatar before that leaned into the lore that James Cameron developed that didn't make it into the first movie. That game made a big deal out of Na'vi songs, for example.

yeah mostly they go fan service mode. but i have faith in ubisoft also but a little bit skeptical it would be just another copy of ubisoft rpg game. hope they bring something fresh.

Literally a mix of skyrim, Farcry, and Ark Survival when it comes to how things seem to function. I love this and I cant wait to play it.

I’m surprised nobody has mentioned Ghost Recon Wildlands because Ubisoft made that. And that was a great open world game with solid combat mechanics
REALLY hoping for a third person view option for the whole game. I get motion sick on first person view games and would really love to be able to play this one.

Not often in games that you play as a villain! Love that we are able to play as the villains, makes for an engaging story hopefully, just like the movies!

Instead of only a first person perspective, please also add a third person one as well? This will let the players see their own cosmetics and how tall they actually are compared to other things or people. It lets players also see more of the character their playing as which is awesome. That would be interesting to see!

@@HTMN161 I can understand that point of view. But at the same time, there should still be an option. Especially since there are cosmetic options in the game. Plus some people, like myself, simply don't like first-person. It feels limited and keeps some from having a fun experience. It's a simple personal preference that I think they should include.

I know this won't happen but with the child of two worlds idea, i think it'd be fun to see if you can side with the humans or simply convert some humans onto your side.

that's a really cool idea, it would be fun if they had two storylines, one where you help save Pandora and one where you decide to stay with the RDA and try to beat the Na'vi. It also would expand the gameplay a lot, more options means more time playing it
Yeah same. I know we had that choice in the 2009 Avatar game. And it actually made me play through it multiple times. It was also surpricingly fun to play from the RDA side. Controlling the robots, and running around Pandora with the fauna actually being hostile towards you.

@@astraeatheapus3647it would take longer to develop, as long as these developers don’t rush it, and do like Treyarch, Bethesda, and Activision/Raven, this will be a top 5 game. Hopefully they let us chose a side, has a long and good story, and hopefully they put effort into the little things as well

This looks incredible! The ONLY thing I seem to be worried about is the story being stale because so far, both movies have dealt with the human/Na'vi conflict in a way that this seems to also be dealing with it - BUT seemingly at a time that's later than the movies. I'm curious to see how it's different than the movies even though there's a possiblity this is set 20-30 years after the first movie and conflict arose.
This game looks amazing! PLEASE take your time, make it perfect. Give your masterpiece justice and don´t ruin it with a premature release. I would love to play this game at it´s full potential

Maybe if the story is good but it looks pretty bland overall story wise, the world and world exploration looks absolutely stunning but that's the most I get from it, it just feels and looks like an avatar farcry to me, I don't think any games will surpass rdr2 for a long while in terms of near perfect game
I wouldn't say best. I have observed ubisoft elements. The Outpost that you can destroy is a tried and tired thing. Not a bad idea, but modern thinking requests they rebuild them.

In an old Avatar game, "James Cameron's Avatar: The Game" the game had a pivot point where you got to choose sides and it would effect the gameplay. It would be really cool if something similar was included here too, but honestly it looks great as is.

1) it's avatar. 2) you kinda need to see more of the area when in flight battles and mounted battles.
i think they're advertising it as a first person game because of interactions, fighting mechanics seem to be primarily first person, but things like flight and other mounts do seem to have a 3rd person, so because 3rd person is an option there I'm sure it's an option in the rest of the game :)
From what i saw in the video
It's first person view only
But when flying, it turns into a third person perspective
Of course I hated it a lot (and in other games too)
Give me both perspectives and let me decide what I want
Don't associate me with one perspective
i just hope that ubisoft properly makes this game... i also wish that the POV of our character is actually 9 foot, we don't want to see a human on the same eye level. The executions for the human at 4:12 can still be polished... i also hope they add better flight mechanics like in 4:16, where you can roll to the side then divebomb to dodge missiles and not just stay in place while the bullets miraculously miss you.

What’s cool is that this game takes place during the one year time cut of Avatar: the way of water, so basically right after it’s opening and right before Jake and his Na’vi team ambush the RDA’s Mag-Lev Jungle train.
To put simply this game takes place in the one year time skip.

I would absolutely love this in a VR game, and I hope it can offer massive player freedom to interact with the world and connect/ride all sorts of creatures, not just those horses and wyvern-like creature they had shown on the movie.

Please put some great character customization into this! Lots of different cosmetics and appearance options! The Na’vi have such cool designs and clothing I’d love to see you be able to pick which tribe your character has roots in.
I'm a sucker for a good storyline and great graphics so I am definitely looking forward to this one!

No need to like your own comment, but a 1st person trying to do aerial combat wouldn't be fun at all. Plus you couldn't see any of the cool tricks you could do.

For elements of gameplay that require good knowledge of whats around you (like flying through the air and dodging rocks and enemies and animals) a third person view widens the amount you can see.
Like using vehicles in Halo, if you want a massive example.

Really excited to see Ubisoft part of this development, they were part of the development of Ghost Recon Wildlands, and by the looks of it, this is gonna be an Avatar version of that which is great cause Ghost Recon Wildlands had a great open world experience and pretty solid combat mechanics
