After losing every fight and looking stupid, Bianca and Loki gotta proof they can actually win at something. Simplifying the plot and making a character focused story with hints to a bigger world. Kinda like how the 1st Kingsman and Matrix movies feel like pilots with a complete character arc.

After hearing Pan talk about this project since I first started watching RebelTaxi it’s really amazing to see Pan finally get that animation pilot he’s been wanting to do for years and can finally get that job at Cartooon Nutjerko.
Speaking of CN, did you hear he tried to pitch his pilot to Adult Swim but they rejected it?

i was in middle school when the webcomic first released, really excited to see it actually come to fruition

Hearing you talk about this project for 10+ years and then finally seeing progress on it feels surreal. I’m glad you’re finally making your dreams a reality, my dude. I also didn’t expect mixed media to be part of the art style but it’s a welcome addition.
I love it it feels like the old Cartoon Network bumpers when the characters were in the same universe.
I am actually impressed about the many rewites and redraws both loki and bianca had over the years, I remember reading Loki IRL on tumblr back when i was in highschool eagerly waiting for a chapter 2 that never came. It's so surreal to see the characters moving and actually talking.
I felt like Tumblr was a terrible place to upload comics the need to be read in order, so I gave up trying to find the 1st page.
I'm glad it's gotten this far, though!

@@TemmiePlaysI mean does it matter if it succeeds or not?? He gets to do something he loves and is passionate about, there really aren’t any rules that say it has to be good 🤷🏼♀️ It’s art. Which I know how ironic it is considering this is a channel criticizing other cartoons, but a lot of those other ones are done mostly just for profit. This to him is a passion project, it’s his baby, it’s different, I don’t think it matter if it’s good or not as long as you get your vision out there and are proud of what you made. There will always be someone who will appreciate it and that makes it worth it in the end!

@Detros a long time ago he jokingly said he'd stop making videos after his cartoon got released (at the time it seemed unlikely to happen) because it would be so awful he wouldn't have room to call other cartoons terrible.

that's why they're called passion projects, and not just " a project " bc you expect no ROI.

Rebel taxi has always had this cool mid 2000s cartoon network style to it. This is the perfect way to bank on it.
I'm hyped, I like the mixed media style! Definitely has some M Dot Strange vibes which fits the setting you've been building for a long time now!

This looks fucking amazing! The blending of so many different styles in such a short period of time is really fun, and the recognizable visual aesthetic carried over from your videos has me excited to see how much of your video's personality carries over into the finished product

This concept is really awesome IMO. Especially how animation techniques are used in an almost "anime power" type of way. My only fear for this series is something that has been with Loki IRL since the first web comic. That being a lack of structure and pacing that really throws off the scope in terms of world building and story. I feel like if the show is able to have an understandable episodic structure with an overarching narrative sprinkled in, then it could really be amazing. On top of that, I feel the shows action sequences need to feel vibrant and fluid, as the action really is the main point of conflict in a story like this. My biggest worry with any project like this is the "writer's baby syndrome." Usually when a project is so close to heart to a creator, it can be impossible for them to "kill their darlings" and that can lead to a misguided and disorganized result. I've loved Pan Pizza for years and do really love his review content and outlook on media. I desperately want this to be amazing, but I do have doubts and reservations. Consider this little rant a series of loving hopes and reservations from a long time fan. Good luck and best wishes on your success.

After all the praise for “2 in the AM PM”, I figured Pan would go that route and make his pilot just a short made of sketches but no, he’s going all-out w/ animation, music, everything. ig since it’s a series based on art, he figured he should give it his all. As always, excited to see more
EDIT from over a yr later: based on the loki irl site, some of that "2 in the am pm" sensibility will still be there; that short was mostly just pencil drawings but had moments of smooth animation throughout. on the site it basically says there will be dialogue scenes w/ limited animation while the action scenes are where it'll be more high quality movement-wise. makes sense. also says on the site pan hopes loki irl does for indie web animation what hanna barbera did for tv animation. basically displaying the idea that ppl will excuse cheaper animation as long as they're entertained enough by the writing, which also smth he p much said abt "2 in the am pm". tho it is a kinda funny sentiment to apply to the dude who said he'd never watch 12 oz mouse bc of how it looks, no matter what the writing may be like. anywho, still pumped for this

I’ve been waiting YEARS for this
It's a miraculous and uplifting thing to see this trailer after following the Rebeltaxi since 2010. I'm trying to work on my own creative project, but the pressing issues of "now" always seem to get in the way. Given that a particular strip from the original Loki IRL webcomic is maybe the most massive single influence on the project, I want this video to give me motivation and resolve to finish it.
It’s crazy to think that he probably started thinking up LokiIRL around the same time Project Red started Cyberpunk. Theirs probably a joke there somewhere

Man I remember reading the comics you would upload online on-I think Tumbler? Its been a while, but I remember staying up one night reading it all until I caught up. Its really weird hearing voices coming out of these characters and honestly this already looks better than the comic, amazing job so far dude!

Looking pretty good so far Pan! I'm a fan of combining diferent styles of animation and if done correctly it really shows the cartoon knowledge of the animator, which is your case buddy! I'm really looking forward to the final product, Pan, I think making Loki IRL a character-driven story a good approach and later you can expand to a Rescue Rangers style of world... the potential is there, just keep the good work!

We'd love to see it finished! But that will be a long time, and I'm allowing you to take as much time as you want, especially improving in animation skills. Looks a bit flawed now, but as you keep receiving helpful tips, you're sure to come a long way.
