Thanks for sharing the tip about tipping!
You bet!
Hi Jeanie, I had been watching your channel for quite sometime and I'm enjoying it too. I'll be landing at Reykjavik by second week of September and I'm so excited to see the NORTHERN LIGHTS, Blue Lagoon and the City's night life!! I hope my work mate will be able to expedite her passport and share the flight with me on time. Who knows we can find you there walking around in the Rainbow Street! Thank you for posting more of Iceland on your Channel. Stay safe!!
Excellent! Now I gotta go back to Iceland for sure. Great video.
Glad you're doing a new video. Thanks!
Glad to be back and many more to come!
Thanks Jeanie! Great video! Something that’s not been covered before by anyone so lots of great info in there. Very excited to come visit in a couple of weeks
Thanks for watching! Will you be doing any nightlife or just touring the nature?
@@IcelandwithaView We are in Reykavik for 4 nights over the weekend and 3 nights just outside Selfoss so I like to think we'll go for a couple of drinks somewhere while in downtown! Thanks again for all your videos - they have been so helpful!!
Hi Jeanie! Love your channel! Once we decided we will go to Iceland, @Iceland with a View has been our Go-to place for planning and getting ideas. and I am glad you started posting videos after a hiatus. I am visiting Iceland on April 9th for a week and I am covering the South Coast. Any suggestions as to what to expect in terms of weather, places to visit etc
He didn’t mention the “to go” cups that a lot of bars have by the door. If you don’t finish your drink, just pour it in a plastic to go cup and take it with you!
That is sweet
Good to see a new vid!
Glad to be back! Full schedule of amazing videos headed your way 🙌🏼
Great video, from north Italy ciao thank you very match ! 🙏
I am travelling to Iceland in April😍😍.
Den Denske Kro! One of my favorites!
very good video! thank you
Jeannie---My sisters and husbands (8 of us) will be visiting your beautiful country this up coming weekend 27-Feb. We'll be on the look out for any "Jeannie sightings"...... that would be a highlight! Thank you for all these videos---we know alot of effort goes into these videos...... but please know your videos/instagram....... have made us sooooooooo excited. Hugs to you and your beautiful family.
I’ll keep my eyes out for you too - thanks so much for your support Alice!
I traveled alone in 2015 in Iceland and felt super safe 😄
So glad to hear that, I agree I always feel safe here as well!
@@IcelandwithaView Yeah, never felt safer. What a beautiful country! I love it so much that I'm now bringing my husband in September. I'm so excited to show it to him!
Because you were white
I want to go to the next EVE FANFEST, pub crawl with them looks fun. :)
My wife and I will be visiting there in 11 days. Very excited. I hope the road conditions are kind to us.
We’ve had a rough winter with all these storms but I’m crossing my fingers for you!
@@IcelandwithaView I’ve been watching the road situation everyday on road.is. I’ve only seen one day where part of the Ring Road of southern Iceland was completely shut down. So I’m truly hoping that doesn’t happen again.
Ahhhh!!! Yay!!!! And I’m first to like!!! 🥰
Thanks so much Jennifer!
I am finally going to Iceland! I had a trip planned in 2020, but everything got cancelled. I have now rescheduled and going this summer.
currently planning a boys trip to Iceland in July. Very excited
Yay that is so exciting! Where are you planning to visit?
@@IcelandwithaView I’m planning on doing Reykjavik but some of the guys are looking for hiking and adventures rather than just bars in a city. So still looking for options
@@IcelandwithaView I am doing a guided trip in Norway, but going to take advantage of the Iceland stopover offered by Iceland Air. I will have 7 days to see as much as possible. It won't be as much time as I would want, but that is the max I can do with the stopover. My plan is to drive the ring road and see what I can. I don't plan on getting much sleep with only 7 days available!
I'm planning to be in Reykjavik on the first weekend in May 2022, any suggestions on activities for the time frame?
I'd like to street perform on the piano in Iceland for people enjoying popular music done with classical flair. Do you have suggestions where's the best location where there's people and where I won't be stopped with proper licensing? Many thanks!
life goal is be there! I would like to meet someone or ppl before hand.
Wish I'd seen this video before my Sunday thru Thursday stay in Reykjavik. Stayed right in the center ....was dead as a doornail!
great great video! thanks for doing this. amazing....not what i was expecting to see! lol.
Thanks for watching!
Very informative video! Thank you! Is there a cover charge for clubs and bars?
No no cover charge to enter bar only valid ID needed
my whole family is going this summer. would my 18 year old brother get in with us at bars ? everyone else is over 21
👍🏽👍🏽
what is the last club that guy suggested ? Anyone knows? Sounds like “so long”
Can you do a video on life for 55 yrs. and older crowd?
I have a question,
Is workaway illegal there?
when you say "alcohol is expensive," what are we saying here? Like $50 for a pitcher of beer?
What kind of music is being played?
Any live, and jazz?
Every bar has a different vibe!
@@IcelandwithaView yes, I got that part, lol…what I wanted to know is do they have “ live” musicians ( bands) and/ are there some that cater to the “ jazz” set…
Do they play EDM like Belgium ? 😆
I'm older, so nightlife in Reykjavik wasn't on my list. I stayed in the older part of town, and it was a bit loud at night but not unexpected or over the top. I was very surprised at the large amount of graffiti all over the city and even on the outskirts of Reykjavik.
We don't consider it graffiti, its Street Art made for public viewing and appreciation!
Huh..the video stopped midsentence?
I was in Iceland over the weekend for the first time. Got to drinking with a local. One of the first things he said to me was "You know that app to see if we're related is bullshit, right? It's something they say to mess with foreigners." I had actually never heard of it until he brought it up. As he described how it supposedly worked all I could think of was 'people are gullible enough to think this exists?'
Magnus is a local - I trust him!
Ask him to show you the app then. Go ahead, we'll wait.
Well American conservatives call it the Incest Island lol. And it's true in that the population is so small, that if you go back far enough they are all related yes. But were talking generations.
@@parmenio2 What's it to you? Why do you even care if the app exists or not as a foreigner, it has no value to you... and no it doesn't exist.
I don't care, but news flash people discuss things beyond their backyard. First day on the internet?
What about live music? I’m interested in everything from Black Metal to Classical. My wife and I are coming over in June and would love to catch something at the big concert hall or a small punk club. thanks
Hi Carl! Harpa Concert and Music Hall is THE place to catch a concert - check their schedule of events here: www.harpa.is/en/whats-on ~ You can also listen to live music at a variety of restaurants around the city on certain nights (Bryggjan Brugghus) and you may find the Icelandic Punk Museum interesting!
Are tourists allowed to enter bars and enjoy. You channel is informative planning to visit Iceland early next year
What about being a gay traveler to Iceland?
Completly safe. Pride is huge in Iceland, and bigger than their own national day! Pride brings hundreds, if not thosuands of LGBTQ+ tourists each year during pride. It's a liberal country. They even had the 1st gay primeminister, who's a woman, and one of the very 1st to legalize same sex marriage.
Keep up the awesome work!! You should use a service such as P r o m o s m!!!
I love not tipping.
COLD COLD place .
Depends on what you're used to and when you go.
These people that just lying, I went to Reykjavík people that are not friendly as I thought to expensive not much to do wasted money
Do they like black Americans
