In this video we will go over how you can groom your Bernedoodle dog at home.
For todays how to groom your dog for a beginner, we will be using andis clippers, dog grooming scissor kit, dog blow dryer, a pet slicker brush, and a 4FC blade.
It is important to try and make each experience with your dog or puppy a good one. When drying your puppy, dry his face last. This will give his face time to dry so you do not need to keep the dryer on his face for an extended time.
When using the clippers, make sure that you shave the sanitary areas first so you do not burn your dog!!!
This groom is sped up. It took about 1 hour for the full Bernedoodle groom. This is what we call the summer doodle puppy groom.
The tools we used for this summer doodle cut all cost under $350.

A little constructive criticism…would be wise and helpful if you showed viewers simple ways to first condition your pup to clippers by building a positive association so grooming becomes a pleasant experience rather than a fearful one. It’s not tough to do and just takes a little effort upfront but well worth it for owners to do this for their dogs.

Thanks for the video. Our Micro Bernadoodle is 14 weeks old now and will be fully vacced this weekend, so her 1st grooming/cut will be next week. I know you say to wait until 5-6 mths, but there is no way we can wait that long. Our Bernie has more of the Bernese wavy coat rather than the curly poodle coat and her hair is SOOOO long already, we can barely see her eyes any longer.

You can have them groomed earlier. I usually wait unless a family requests it sooner.

Right…same here. Our Bernedoodle has the longest, waviest fur ever. We are gonna groom him today. Watching a few videos first.

So cute!! I've been considering learning how to groom my Bernie, but he's a bit crazy at 7 months. Still leaving him to the professionals and hoping he'll calm down. She was being so oooo good for her first trim. I wish you could go slower when you sculpt her face because you have a good understanding about how they should look and my groomer does not. I have to always tell her to leave his fringe triangular at his eyes and lightly trim his brows. If left up to her she buzzes it all flat and he looks like a monkey! Lol I hope you do more videos.

Thank you! We will try and get a video dedicated just to grooming the face so we can go slower.

At what age should they have their first groom (with clippers)? We are getting our 15 week old mini bernedoodle pup this week.

We usually go 6-8 weeks but if you don't like the smell, you can get some puppy shampoo that is moisturizing and use that to help with the smell.

Not easy is it on Bernie’s…I’m struggling myself clipping a crazy wild hyper Bernie. Music too loud and annoying btw.

When we try to brush out our bernedoodles puppies they bite the brush and can't make any progress

@@rdspuppytrainingmore4256 they're 10 weeks-old. I hope it gets better with time. They also bite each other a lot.

@@carolinaochoa3309 When they are biting, try to continue brushing and the second they stop, give them praise or a treat. Before we can expect them to do what we want, we have to show them what we want. After they understand that they get what they want when they are behaving, they will start to get better.
