- I've spent over $1544 on a variety of bourbons so far in 2024. Were they worth it?
In this video we go over all of the bourbons I purchased in the first quarter of 2024, how much I paid for each of them, and what I think of them. Great job man. You have some good purchase prices. I would hold onto the Elijah Craig 18. That’s a really hard find. Madeira is a fortified wine like port

Man everybody loved the RHF. I can’t wait to give it a try. The CYPB was the biggest thing for me. My wife definitely surprised me

@@The_Unbottled you killed it with that RHF for 63. People here in MI. find that for 250 and they get excited. My brother in law got one for 100 and that is unheard of. The Weller Full Proof for 100. Good for you.

You certainly got lucky with the Elijah Craig dusty. That store must have miss placed that bottle. You have some very good bottles and you do you as far as purchase it’s your money.

Great haul, i think the rock hill farms is the steal of the picks. I haven't seen that bottle for under $199 anywhere. It blows Blanton's away imo. That james e pepper is really good i found mine for $60 in Murfreesboro, tn but im sure they have definitely went up lol

Nice haul! Especially on that “Reverend” Elijah Craig 18. Very distinguished simply for the barreling 1997. I had graduated high school just two years earlier! That juice got some age. I would imagine that oak note will be rich

Wow! That's some nice scores!!! Living in an ABC state, Alabama, I've not seen a lot of those bottles. Through a store lottery I was recently able buy a Rock Hill Farms for $65. Would love to find a James E Pepper, 1924,...
I’ve seen some of Alabama’s drops. Those things are re massive but it’s all about having the time and being lucky to win the draw. I wish I could come and experience one but I think an Alabama license is required right?
@@The_Unbottled Yes, must show proof of residence for the drops. I've applied for the ABC quarterly lottery 3 or 4 times, but have never been drawn.

Just got a bottle last week of J E Pepper from KY., have not opened it yet. Was one I wanted when I went there. Paid 63 at a Total Wine in Lexington. I am excited to try it soon.

Great haul! Barrell Seagrass is so good. For me, I'd pass on the EC Jack at the proof & the price. There's no way I'd pass on that Elijah Craig, close to your birth year bottle. Great video! Cheers Kevin

The price for the Rockhill Farms is insane. It is 100% worth it. Can't find for less than 250 where I'm at and blows ETL and Blantons away

Congrats on the haul brotha. My .02 would be to educate your wife on bourbon hunting and what fair prices are because $300 for Weller CYPB just isn’t worth it, in my opinion. I understand FOMO is real in this bourbon game but there’s plenty of other wheated bourbons out there that are under $100 (Makers Mark, Bardstown Origin Series, Larceny).
That’s a fair statement, but the story behind the CYPB comes from my pre-wedding video I posted. She got it because of what happened during that video. Now if you’re trying to finish a collection, what’s the most you’d pay for the last bottle needed?
@@The_Unbottled I gotcha. It all depends…I feel like that’s a loaded question lol. I’ve been collecting/hunting for about two years now. Since I live in a gov’t controlled state, I’ve gotten majority of my bottles at MSRP. Since I have won any BTACs/Pappys in the state lottery, if I saw one in the wild, I’d probably pay up to $400-$450 depending which bottle it is.
Ahhh gotcha! Most stores do drops at close to MSRP. Some keep bottles on the shelf at an elevated price but keep the general stock lower. I got my lot b for $150 last year.

Good Bourbons......But I don't believe in spending more than $80 for any Spirit. After Spirits are bottled they don't age anymore you have a few that are worth a pour(for me) but not a buy. Nice...sip slowly my friend. 🥃
Haha yea I used to be the same way. My minimum seems to increase every year 😅
I believe a lot are worth a lot more. I struggle justifying bourbon over maybe 150….but scotch gets crazy in price, and a 30 year single malt is special. Especially when you get into some of the big brands. I’ve spent well over 1k before for a bottle of high age stated scotch.
I came from scotch as-well so my spirit limit price is pretty high. But I refuse to pay over MSRP. I have more bottles than I can drink. I will buy nearly anything outside like OFC and michter’s 20 as long as I can get it at MSRP.
