I have my scotch bonnet in a planter so when it gets cold I can move it inside. Scotch bonnet will last for years if you don’t let it freeze .
My experience was it wasn’t doing well in the ground here. It did far better when I took it out of the ground and replanted it in a pot. Best 😁
