    Thanks for this; I was lucky enough to be there !!!! In a box one level up at angle of about 30degrees to the stage. Was a brilliant night. Joe Walsh opened, followed by Gary Moore. Mike Campbell (Tom Petty) carried the lead guitar stuff through the concert and can be seen playing acoustic here just over Gary Moore's shoulder
    I co-authoring Burst Believers and Goldtop Believers with Vic DaPra - Gary's son has helped along with Joe Walsh and Mike Campbell - among many other celebs - check them out on Amazon

      Agree Vandalorian. Fans did a great job, I am so happy to have this. Watched it dozens of times. As most of us are Gary Moore fans, we know that Gary is second to none, but he is the star at his shows and plays to the crowd. Here, he is playing to and for George. Everyone who has seen this video knows the cool spots that prove this point, including George's appreciation of Gary for some other cools spots in the video. I'd even go so far to say that after the first solo, George stepped it up a notch on the vocals......not intentionally and not that the pre solo vocals were terrible, he was just feeding off the grove.....that's what these guys and all band musicians do, feed off of each other.

    America never caught on to the legend that was Gary Moore, probably because he didn’t have long blond hair, a cute smile, and a California tan , however, you can be rest assured, the rest of the world was fully aware of how good he was . He didn’t need gimmicks , or a good looking singer to highlight him, he was just pure talent. There will never be a greater player .

      I am an American guitar player and I am 63 and I can tell you that me and my peers were fully aware of Gary Moore and fully appreciated him 100%. Be careful with your stereotypes. Not only his work with Thin Lizzy but his solo work is the most soulful stuff I have ever heard. He makes the guitar strings sing like nobody else. We all know it. He died way too soon. He paved the way for people like Joe Bonamassa.

      Actually, Gary could shred his ass off. Just, unlike a lot of guys who can play fast, he also knew how to read a room and play what was appropriate for the situation.

      He could play fast but here he doesn't. He plays it RIGHT. And when I say right, I mean he perfectly captures the feeling and spirit of the song.
      A lot of people have raved about the clip of Prince playing this song with Tom Petty and I have to say, Prince plays a great solo also, but this is much better because the solo fits, front to back.

      Prince was a selfish, self centered and egotistical child playing this. It was ALL ABOUT HIM! He wasn’t nearly as mature (mentally, emotionally or spiritually) as the other musicians that night and therefore didn’t grasp what that night was all about. It was actually a very sad scenario to witness with all that showboating.

    • @DaRunningMan
      @DaRunningMan Před 2 lety +1

      @@TC-dw6wg "Prince was a selfish, self centered and egotistical child playing this"
      No, he was not. Prince did exactly the performance that the song calls for. What do you think Gary Moore is doing here, dummy? Being subtle? The whole point of the song is for the guitarist to take over to play the part of the "guitar weeping". Dummy. You sound moronic and suspiciously bigoted.
      " and therefore didn’t grasp what that night was all about"
      Prince didn't "grasp what that night was all about"?? Hey, stupid, the one who didn't "grasp what that night was all about" is you!
