The band for most of those Motown hits, the Funk Brothers, was _incredible_ . The drum, bass and brass interaction on Rock Steady is perfection. BTW, I'm white, just turned 69. Here's the thing about Three Dog Night. Three LEAD singers who could all front a band (and did) and who could all hear well enough to sing multiple harmony parts. They got together and put some songs and some arrangements out that were really good. When they hit the airwaves they were a phenomenon that never looked back until they had cranked out multiple chart-topping hits. They may not be a 'favorite band' of many, but everybody remembers their catalogue well...and most have a favorite song among them. They were all over radio for at least a decade and it's really fun to watch you react to their music 40 years later. Keep it up. Check out "One," "Joy To The World" and "Black and White" just to name a few.

Other injestibles, people taking turns in the bedrooms...... I always made a quick escape and was so thankful for clubbing at discos where most of this could be avoided.

I'm a 57 year old Mamie, Ninnie, and Gamie. I love watching the reactions of you young people. The sad thing is that y'all's generation won't ever know the peace and innocence of that era. This is way back when everyone gathered around outside in our yards or down on the river banks. This is when music was music. You had fun, but this is when you had to have a voice that could carry a tune. There are so many great songs and bands from back then. I wish they were still around and able to teach their music. But they would also tell you that you had to have soul. What I mean by that is when you sing, you have to be able to feel it in your soul. Because if you can't feel it, then you won't be able to sing it like you should. Keep on keepin' on. Thank you for bringing back memories.

I got to see Three Dog Night in concert way back when. A lot of bands just kind of left you hanging when they took a break between sets but not Three Dog Night; their drummer did a 30 minute drum solo. So cool. I'll be back to watch any more reactions you want to do to them and, of course as always, Home Free too. 😄

Yup! Right back in my dorm room dancin' and singin'. I love this song, but I'd forgotten some of the lyrics. "Turn out the lights, I don't wanna see no more" made me laugh out loud. Three Dog Night had quite a few hits "back in the day". The thing that really made me laugh was the green iridescent Lycra pants on the keyboardist. Yikes! Great reaction to some classic music.

Maaaaan, the way he introduces shakiness & breaks in his voice when he sings "I don't wanna see no more" & "'bout scared me half to death!" is BRILLIANT. He drops from belting w/ his full chest to shaking in the corner w/ Shaggy & Scooby.
DO Y'ALL KNOW HOW IMPOSSIBLY HARD THAT IS?!?!?!

They had 3 amazing singers, each one of them could have been heading up a band, and together they were fantastic. Many great songs and hits in the '70s.
