Could you do a video on handling the intricacies of the newer shoes that have a mesh of a rubber like material woven over the top of the mesh upper? It’s hard to know if you use 2 hard for the rubber material or 2 soft for the cloth. Or both, or neither.

Very cool of you to reply so quickly. Many tennis players use shoes like the Head Revolt Pro 3.0, Adidas Adizero series like the Ubersonic or Barricade, or the Babolat line of shoes like the Jet. Most of these shoes have a torsion toe box support that is a rubber or plastic material over the cloth mesh for stability. This causes a problem when customizing these shoes because there are so many unlike materials bonded to one another. Any advice is appreciated. TIA!!

I'm about to work on my first pair of cleats, this video is very thorough, thanks! Quick question, for your airbrush work, did you just mix Angelus with 2-thin? What about the tongue, did you use Angelus + 2-soft (or gac900)?
Also, do you need to use a finisher?
Glad you liked it! For the airbrush work, we did mix angelus with 2-thin all around the cleat, including the tongue
We would recommend to always use a finisher to just give it that final coat of protection and/or touch. It's the angelus finisher

Da'Von Razor sanding them goes an incredibly long way in adding to the durability of them. You’re going to go through the whole process of peeping and painting them anyway which is not easy, you wouldn’t want to go through that whole thing and then have a pair that isn’t very durable, believe me it really goes a long way!

A Jordan 11 cleat tutorial would be really helpful, especially the patent prep/keeping mesh matte

@dejesuscustomfootwear do you do the adhesion promoter right before you paint? Does it matter?
Yeah apply one coat of it, wait 15 mins then apply a second coat and while it’s still wet then you start applying paint (sounds odd believe me, but it’s how you do it)
So after go over it with the scotch brite with acetone, and cotton balls with acetone, do I put the primer on there and let it dry and then paint?

What do you recommend for a proper amount of coats for cleats vs other shoes?
That’s a tough one that has a very long answer lol.. I try to not give stuff definitive quantities cause it depends on so many factors different cleats have different materials, plus different colors take longer in general... as an overall I don’t do any more or less coats on cleats in hope it last more. It’s really just about the overall coverage and how the material takes... on average of any surface I tend to be around 5-6 super light coats

When applying the stencils how long do you wait to take them off so the paint doesn’t come off with it ?
If paint removal is happening I don’t think it’s much a matter of you didn’t wait long enough to peel back the stencils, but you gotta spend more time on the prep work and making sure all the layers underneath have proper dry time

I want to paint a pair of soccer cleats. The description says they are synthetic leather. I'm only adding a logo and some detail work. I've noticed that the deglaze strips the original paint. I don't want any of the paint to be removed. Would you recommend just using an adhesive and the angelus paint? Would that be sufficient enough? I don't want them to wear down. Thanks!
Brittany Mako hi Brittany my recommendation is to strip down the areas you’re gunna place logos or detail work, in general id probably strip down the whole thing because I’m very skeptical of the paint really being able to grab onto the surface if you don’t do so

You can handpaint with Angelus just fine!

What clear finish do you use to seal them
Whenever making shoes that have trademarked designs and things of that nature, do you have to do anything specific to avoid getting in trouble for using those designs or getting demonetized?
Can’t mass produce em, this is just one off fan art that were not advertising as for sale essentially

No it doesn't I bought 2 pairs. They don't last more than 1 game. Absolute scam.
@@Clan501-Scotland then whomever painted your cleats didn't properly prep them before hand. The paint won't adhere correctly if not prepped right
@Charlie where did you purchase them from because I followed the steps and my customers cleats are still nice and look good after multiple games. No peeling and no cracking at all. Just like all cleats they go through a beating! But paint doesnt insantly run off after the first game or anything like that.

What adhesion promoter do you use and is it all the same?
Just about any brand works, we use one from Rustoleum

Just1 Shoes for most colors on a surface like leather or synthetic I can get the job done in about 4 light coats
DeJesus Custom Footwear thx man. Any tips on psi for your airbrush? I keep getting overflow into my stencils... Too much clean up work. What material do u use for stencils? I'm using Oracal 651. Tyty again!
Matthew Lee for PSI I recommend around 35 as a general range for most airbrushes. For the stencil itself make sure you’re heat setting it down... another tip is spray the airbrush from further away and even lighter and that will most definitely help with the overspray getting through the stencil. Also try 811
