    I'm pretty sure this is the absolute best camper van made out of a Transit. You have made the best use of so little space.
    If the foam doesn't break in well or you still want a little more softness, you may consider getting a twin size, softer foam mattress topper. In the morning you should be able to roll it up and store it pretty easily where ever you are keeping your bedding.

    I was a seamstress/upholsterer and my choice of tools for cutting foam when working from home, was a bread knife. It worked great. I worked for a company that built boat furniture and they used a band saw for cutting foam. So it makes sense that a bread knife will work.

    When you pulled the water out in the back door etc if you had eg a 2 metre tube that water could be fed through eg a hosepipe etc that could retract in to the van ceiling but could be pulled out two metres to provide a shower facility which would be far enough away from the inside of the van eg for water splashes etc but could use a 6metre tarpaulin that attaches to inside of back doors that would clip to two tent poles thus giving a shower facility with privacy that rolls up afterwards

      For that size, it is not going anywhere, because he won't be able to put too much force on it to move it since there is no where to slide to. What he needs is another cover which is cotton so he can take off and wash easily.

    Transit connects come in two cargo lengths...standard and extended...which one do you have? I'm hoping you have the standard since I'm 6'4". Also, you may want to consider getting sheets or some sort of washable cover made for your cushions. Perhaps like a fitted sheet that has elastic all around...so the elastic wouldn't show and it would be easy on and easy off come wash day.

  • @Trevscuriosites
    @Trevscuriosites Před 6 lety

    brilliant job just one question since you have two sliding doors would it not have been better to put the bed on the passenger side as that seat could stay upright and slightly forward to give you more inches unfortunately my van a VW Caddy not sure if you get them there has only one sliding door and it is on the passenger side so my bed has to be on the drivers side and it is a pain having to adjust the seat all the time especially if you want to jump in and go in a hurry

    • @Josh_Oakes
      @Josh_Oakes  Před 6 lety

      I see what you're saying! That's a good point, the main reason I have the bed on the drivers side is because I place my cooler on the floor by the passenger slider. If the layout was flipped, having the floor space on the drivers side and bed on passenger side, the ice in my cooler would melt faster because the exhaust runs on the drivers side and the floor get significantly warmer. Kind of a weird factor to consider but I agree it would be nice not to have to adjust the drivers seat so much!
