  • It is hatching season so I know many people are hatching their first gargs! This is how I take care of mine and set them up to be successful.

When they're a hatchling do they need a lot more lighting/UVB? Or is it better to add it to the larger enclosure?

It would be really difficult to not overdue uvb for a baby considering their enclosures are small and you wouldn't want the light right on the enclosure like that. I personally don't use uvb but if I did it would only be on large enclosures to ensure the geckos have opportunities to choose how much exposure they get by moving to different parts of the enclosure

How do you feed calcium and vitamins if they’re not eating insects yet

Thanks! And I don’t keep it to the point where it looks soaking wet. But the color of it is a dark brown still. The lighter the color the more dry it is. When setting it up just Let it soak and then drain the water as much as possible and you will be good. If it starts drying out and looks a light brown color then put in a tiny amount of water and it will be back to a dark brown in a few hours. A tiny amount of water will go a long way so just don’t use too much.

When do you introduce insects to the baby gargoyles? 🤔

Usually around like 10g. You could do it sooner but the insects just have to be the right size
