We still have our cistern .We don't have it connected anymore. I am happy to have indoor plumbing . Still have to use outhouses when visiting . Swartzentruber up here still very very conservative ( if you know what I mean).

When we get married it was hard for him to have running water indoor outhouse and electric before we started our family. We talked how to raise our kids. We are raising our three daughters as mennonites and our son is raise a Amish. My dad come from old order mennonites community.when my aunt from the old order mennonites community she married into a new order Mennonite community when my dad left the old order mennonites community and moved in with his sister and brother in law and he became a new order Mennonite. My mom is English. All of us nine kids was raised under new order Mennonite and English. I asked my dad if he like the old order mennonites or he loves being a new order Mennonite he told me to he loves being a new order Mennonite.. we had a large mennonite farm and farm animals and our only fresh fruit and vegetables garden and fruit trees and we grew out only wheat and hay and we milk our daily cows and goats and we had chickens and ducks and turkeys and goose and Swans for fresh lay eggs.
How do Amish without indoor plumbing take baths? Beware that you might get a lot of nasty comments are saying that following Christ isn't their religion.

I think I would start the motor before my shower so I would not run out. LOL
It didn’t start unless the pressure was low enough. But great idea!
I have a well and use the electric pump. The Amish I know have the one 1 you used. They are from N. Indiana, as we were from.

It probably depends. Gas engine or generator. Either way it’s gas.
Are you familiar with the Amish around Berne and Geneva Indiana? They seem to be the more strict type. They all have windmills for pumping water.
