The IAG EZ-Lift Hood Strut Kit is designed to make opening and closing your Bronco's hood easy. The gas-charged struts are constructed in stainless steel with a brilliant silver finish. They are secured to the hood with CNC laser cut and powder coated custom stainless steel brackets. This kit allows for hands free operation when opening the hood. No more fumbling with the OEM prop rod. The rigid design also protects your hood from possible wind damage when open.
For anyone not familiar with installing struts, a couple things I learned. Play around with connecting the ball in the joint and installing the clip before you do it on the vehicle. The ball should "click" in. Then just need to find the pin hole in the bottom, push through to the top hole, and then rotate the clip into place.
Also, the lower end of the strut unscrews... so when you attach the top and then are wondering how you're going to get the bottom one to click in, you can unscrew it a bit to make the connection.
Well designed addition. Closeups of the connections would help those of us unfamiliar with how everything assembles. I knew this video existed, but for reference, I saw *nothing* on or in the box that would have led me here. Could use a "go look this up on youtube" note in there somewhere.
Much better engineering than the RC kit. RC works well, just over thought.. more complicated than it should be. Good job IAG.
I am DONE with the prop-rod. This strut kit is simple. effective, and well thought out. Just like their interior lights. 👍

Holy Markell those clips are hard to install. Found that installing the lower clip first, with the strut installed only in the bottom pivot, then snap strut into the top pivot and install top clip works. Yikes! 2 hours install time.
Some close up shots of the mounting points would be nice. We’ll produced but a little far away Especially since you don’t provide printed instructions for the kit.
Doesn’t work on the Everglades. I’m bummed. The passenger side won’t clear the snorkel. Anyone got a fix for this???
My hood doesn’t come up far enough to hook up the strut??
