    Hey Friends! Welcome
In today’s video I’m showing you how I made a full set of hand tools and a tool box entirely of epoxy resin. I learned a lot about silicone mold making and epoxy casting in my last video where I made the life size epoxy skulls to house the walnut wood brains. I had so much fun with that video that I wanted to challenge myself to another mold making and epoxy project. I purchased a set of hand tools for $23 and a Jr Stanley tool box kit for $20 off amazon.
I started by making individual molds of each tool I wanted to cast in epoxy. Some of the tools I took apart like the level, tape measure and a set of pliers that I purchased for $5 each from harbor freight. I made individual molds of each of the parts. I put each one of the silicone molds in the pressure pot for 4 hours at 35 PSI. After the mold cured I demolded them. I show more in depth in my epoxy skull video about de-molding silicone molds. Be sure to check that out if you’d like to learn more about mold making. Once all my molds were ready I mixed up some TotalBoat high performance with slow harder and poured the epoxy in the mold and put them back in the pressure pot for 7 hours at 35 PSI.
It took a couple of rounds to fully master each epoxy tool. Once I had figured out all of the tools I wanted to make a tool box to house all the epoxy tools. So, I made another round of silicone mold of the wood toolbox piece. The mold turned out great and even captured the wood graining. My first experiment of assembling the epoxy tool box wasn’t my favorite. I experimented with taping the box together with 3M tape and pour epoxy in the bottom of the box for the base. I wasn’t happy with the results so I made one more silicone mold of the bottom wood piece. I loved the 2.0 epoxy toolbox by having an epoxy piece to construct the toolbox was much better than pouring the bottom during construction. Over all I’m so happy with the outcome of this project. It took some trial and error along with some experimenting, but in the end I love how they all turned out. This project was a challenge to myself to see if I could successfully make molds of tools and a tool box and cast epoxy to create a clear set of epoxy tools.
I hope you enjoyed this video and found some useful information. Thanks for checking out the how the project turned out over all. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this video and I'd love to see what you make, and be sure to tag me when you do @Wood_Brain on Instagram.
I'll have a limited run of epoxy tools for sale on my website.

I edited this video myself (super proud) with Adobe Premiere Pro. I’ve learned everything thus far about editing via CZcams tutorials, and a little trial and error along the way. In this video I implemented sound effects from Epidemic sound.

Pressure pot seems to be a must have for clean molds and finished pieces. Cool content.

@@wood_brain ay consider vacuum beforehand too :)
You can also make a vacuum for 5 bucks with a 3d printer. Find a 3d printable Venturi vacuum generator to use with your new compressor and it will pull a decently high vacuum for ya. Pressure pot+vacuum+ultrasonic degassed is ideal but any of them work. This was really amazing and nice job!
