He partnered with Mike Evans too, the first actor who played George and louises son. Also, thats where they got Michael Evans name and the Evans. I saw this when I was a kid. And decades later they're celebrating Lear as the person came up with it. So why then are the good times family is named after Mike Evans?
Get outa here. Only credit that man deserves is partner producer credit. All the great shows that made him money were the spinoffs from Maude and All in the Fam. Disgusting. Between norman lear and arron spelling who were the guys when I was a kid, it seems arron spelling was more honest. 80s kid here.

After all the years he has taken money from Netflix for what was essentially *The Beverly Hillbillies* meets *Breaking Bad,* Jason Bateman has no integrity left whatsoever if he does not stand in solidarity with Eric Monte. Without *Silver Spoons,* and therefore by proxy without Norman Lear or Ricky Schroder, he never would’ve had a career. This is what Tandem/Embassy’s priorities shifted to without Bud Yorkin or Eric Monte and with Jerry Perenchio: shows about rich white kids with Black friends, shows about rich white kids with Black roommates at boarding school, and shows with rich white kids with Black siblings.

Eric Monte - "Norman Lear Is A Racist" THIS IS A HATE CRIME AGAINST BLACK AMERICANS... NO OTHER RACE WOULD ALLOW THIS.. WOULD EUROPEAN JEWS ALLOW RACIST STEREOTYPES MADE INTO A NETFLIX SERIES... I THINK NOT.
The New Good Times animated series on Netflix is a glorified stereotypical show that has damaged the image of the original Good Times family show that started in 1974 through 1979. The goal of the original Good Times show was to disrupt the flow of negative stereotypes about black families.
This New series promotes violence, culture destruction of the Black community and alcohol abuse. This glorifies the degenerate, destructive behavior that some in MOST community's engage in, but this series aims to promote this as a normal behavior in the black community.
It’s time to put a stop to this ANTI-BLACK Propaganda Racist Hate Crime By Netflix. This will lead to bad outcomes towards black people period. It will promote more hate, police brutalities as it reinforces the DEHUMANIZATION of a whole people like they did during the Jim Crow Era which lead to mass killings of innocent black Americans.
      BOYCOTT THIS TRASH.
NETFLIX NEEDS TO BE CHARGED WITH PROMOTING A GENOCIDE.

I still wonder whether Norman Lear was ever more than just a figurehead on all of these reboots of “his” shows.
What makes this even more unforgivable is that Sony Pictures Television bent over backwards to get +0n¥ d@nz@ and his degenerate co-stars from that horrible show he did after *Taxi* was canceled when its Emmys couldn’t propel it past *Diff’rent Strokes* in the ratings (thank you to anybody reading this who helped make that Nielsen victory happen in 1980-1981). They ripped off the mutually exclusive parts of *Gimme A Break!* and *Cheers* to “create” that show and received no accountability for it while forgetting to steal actually funny jokes. Mort Lachman and Sy Rosen must have taken the last ones with them when they left Embassy with Gary Coleman, Ricky Schroder, and Mrs. Garrett’s charges fighting over the last ones left they didn’t take.
If this all went back to court, I would gladly testify on behalf of the Monte family with everything I know. #JusticeForEricMonte #BoycottNetflix #NotMyGoodTimes

He is not the only one that Hollywood is screwing over. The three principal cast members of *Webster* own pieces of the show, and Paramount has not been paying everything they owe them. I don’t know whether DVD or streaming is part of the agreement, but you cannot watch all 150 episodes between the two of them because they don’t want to pay for the music rights on streaming, and the Shout! Factory licenses were only for those Shout! DVDs. The episodes that are as of now streaming-only (they were on Amazon Prime as late as this February) are the ones co-produced by Emmanuel Lewis Entertainment Enterprises. I heard he lost his house a few years ago. Perhaps if Paramount had not been engaging in creative accounting techniques worthy of *The Producers,* he might not have.

I think the Montes could come up with their own animated series and it would do well.

The thing that I noticed about Norman Lear is that when he fired John Amos in 1976, he got with some directors in England and called the black British show "The Fosters" and used every single episode of Good Times from 1974-1976. I used to watch the black British show The Fosters on CZcams for 2 years until they stopped showing it. I even tried to order the DVD's of the show The Fosters and now they're trying to show the white version of The Fosters which is totally different from the Norman Beaton version of the The Fosters 💜

I think it's pure evil that a so called friend could rob you in this manner, and be able to sleep at night. I sincerely doubt NL's children, heirs, successors, and all those prestigious terms of generational wealth had to be subjected to any level poverty, low/no income public housing, and all terms of being destitute. This is unfortunate, but it's also a prime example of making sure you have the proper contracts in place, to ensure you get paid what you're owed, and to also maintain ownership of what you've created, along with creative control. I wish Mr. Monte well, and that he gets what he deserves. As far as Norman Lear and his constituents in Hollywood, this happening is nothing new and is no surprise. Stealing what another melanated person owns or have invented, was and still is a common practice. WE, us as a people should learn and take heed from the past, and do business accordingly, in our favor.
