Kung fu theater on Saturday afternoons, when I was kid, fond memories.
In Los Angeles it was called Black Belt Theater... good times!
Now I understand why the appearance of Bruce Lee caused such a shock among the audience of that time. He introduced a fundamentally new technique and speed into the world of martial arts in cinema.
Bruce lee was prior to this. Bruce lee was as slow as these fights here and had around 3 times more cuts in his scenes. I have no idea, what you are talking about. Bruce lee movies are totally boring. Just the production was much better and more expensive. The fights were 0. The next step in martial arts was Jackie Chan. This guys fight scenes and the ones of his team mates are so underrated, mostly because of the comical characters he played. But their fighting scenes were next level. In my opinion Jackie Chans fighting scenes are unreached until this day.

Okay, I think this is officially the most preposterous Kung Fu cinema fight I’ve ever watched, and I loved it. You knew that one fighter would be good when the theme to Shaft started playing. That is, until, he had his arm chopped off by that Wolfman/Dracula looking wild man character! 🤣
Incredible-and it predates Streetfighter II by a few decades! The lama Chi Kung Master with the inflation devices in his chest , the Indian Yoga a fighter and the Vampire Goju Ryu guy are a trip! I definitely have to revisit this classic!
go look up "The Flying Guillotine"
Goju Ryu School in Naha. Very Good.
Well, in his defense he was wearing a bullet proof vest.
@@toomanyaccounts Master of the Flying Guillotine aka The One Armed Boxer 2
The sequel to this, Master of the Flying Guillotine, has a yoga master that is very clearly the inspiration for Dhalsim. 70s martial arts films were a HUGE influence on fighting games, super clear.
This is a old school classic dont down grade it to a damn game.

The sequel is even better with an even more awesome lineup of fighters. Master of the Flying Guillotine.
Some of them are like copies of these ones like those thai guys and that Indian guy also the Master of the Flying Guillotine was a lama
that one's good too, but it's borderline plotless so I'd call this movie a little better. The choreography feels a little better in places in this movie too. That punch at 8:40 feel brutal.
Oh I've heard of that guillotine movie...so that's related to this one! 😲
I saw this in theaters as a kid and it was labeled “The Chinese Professionals” one of the best martial arts movies of the 70s!

@jakubkalinamalina Bro... It was just sarcasm. Don't take it seriously.
Did you know tai chi is an Indian martial art originally? As well as the way monks in asia way of meditation and prayer?
@jakubkalinamalina there's a whole documentary on its origins.
Well, Kung Fu was introduced to Shaolin Temple by Bodhidhama, who was a monk from Tamil Nadu. Besides, India itself has it's own martial arts. Kalaripayattu, Silambam, many more. In the north, we have malla-yudha, musti-yuddha and many other weapons styles. So, not surprising at all.
So this is how MMA was created.
Yeah ...thats why bruce lee dont use kungfu style in every his movement... Bruce lee's movement more to kick boxing style and etc

He meant its serious to the point he is going to die. If its just losing an arm and he wont die from it then they have to take it like a man, no hospitalization. In the Three Kingdoms, General Xiahuan losts his eye from an arrow and he took the arrow out at that very moment and ate his own eye.

Hollywood gun-action from the 70s are lame too, the fight choreography even worse.
If fight scenes were realistic, you’d have to cast new stuntmen after every take.
Of course the whole scene is impossible (for example the yoga guy is very funny), but the actors are extremely good, and they make the viewer believe the story.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I can not thank you enough for posting this. I was a fourteen year old kid back in 1974 when I snuck into the theatre to see my first kung fu movie and this was it. This and master of the flying guillotine are my favorite kung fu movies of all time.
