  • Hey Everyone!
    As I hinted at in a previous video, when you go to a carbon fiber hood you NEED HOOD PINS. No exceptions!! In my opinion, traditional hood pins look cheap, so we decided to go with the best on the market, AeroCatch.
    AeroCatch hood pins are what you'll find on professional racecars and after installing them, we completely see why! The build quality is top notch, they look amazing and they are as safe as you can get. Although I didn't show it in the video, I am running 4 latches. Two AeroCatch Pins and I'm also running my stock latches.
    Big thanks to AeroCatch for making this video possible.

    Love the way they came out! Nice quality install. You make things look super easy.

    Found an archive video I guess. I just bought aerocatch pins for my E90 and plan to install them this weekend. Your channel was a lot of why I bought my BMW’s (an e90 325i I’m building an LS for and a motiv built e60 535xi on e85 that was totaled in 2021. Thanks for all you do Brian!

  • @L-Noble.YT_Hi.Res-Soundminds

    I have instaled these on a carbon hood. They work great and it takes time to fit them. You have to take your time and use a dremel tool and cut alot of the hood from the top n bottom to fit them. You must choose the location and check that it will work in that spot first before you cut the hood. You need to look at the hood countour on top and bottom and choose the spot to install them. You have to also compensate a little because when the hood fully closes it will slightly change the location of the pin. You cannot slam the hood after the install like an oem hood.

    once you cut the carbon fiber...did you put any kind of sealer on the exposed edge before you put the AeroCatch latch system through the hole?

    I might be getting an F30 335i in Estoril blue soon. Still going back and forth with the dealer, it's a 2013 with 40k miles for $23k. It seems like a great deal to me. I've been binge watching your videos so I know some good mods to start if I get it.

    Do you have to do the latches if your not tracking this car (just road use) with the after market hood?. Like the look of this hood with the power bulge and vents vs stock
    Have you noticed lower temps since installing?

      Ik im a year late but I think you do need hood pins. If you already have your hood and you cut it. Do you recommend I do the same I’m thinking of getting a carbon hood

  • @projectdream93

    how did you get the hood sensor to stop alarming without the latches

    • @stompamudhole
      @stompamudhole Před rokem

      I know this is old but, if you cut the sensor wires on the plug end (latch side) and splice a 7.5k resistor in the 2 wires looping them together you are golden

  • @1up17
    @1up17 Před 6 lety

    Bryan, your Sebion hood looks like it fits pretty good. Mine is not sitting and lining up so well. I have a lot of fender gaps and the hood is not sitting flush with the bumper. Did you have to make a lot of major adjustments to get yours to fit properly?

  • @X11CHASE

    It may “look more aerodynamic” but the opposite way flowed parallel to the body lines and flowed much more seamlessly

      Kies Motorsports I was wondering because of the material. But if you wanted to you could always put a piece of rubber gasket in between.

    I have no clue how this is more ecure than the double latch system already on the car....... and one obviosly looks better and cleaner than the other. Old cars had single latch mono clamps prone to failing with CF hoods, even the M4 GTS has the same OEM latches as an F32

    • @D-Loe

      Carbon hoods are a lot lighter weight meaning the oem latches aren't made to hold the carbon. Can be super dangerous and have hood fly up and hit your windshield while driving downthe road
