- Some of our really good Brazilian friends; Gustavo and Juliana who live in São Paulo city took us to their beach home town of SANTOS! We absolutely loved the vibe of this place, beaches, sun, history, football, paragliding and great food… what more could you want?! We stayed for New Years Eve with their family and never wanted to leave! In this video we explore their sea port and coffee history, Nick gets signed to the local Santos team and we watch the New Year’s Eve fireworks to celebrate the start of 2019!

I was Sparks on the SS Delta Mar from 1978 to 1982 making 2 month round trip voyages from NOLA to SA. Our port call into Santos was usually 2-3 days, quite long for a freighter. Monkey Wrench Corner was the area along the docks were ships were tied up, working cargo. The clubs at night we top heavy with ship's crews speaking many different languages. There was never any conflict, everyone just drank and had much fun. I do miss my sailing days.
Thank you for sharing this. Wow your sailing days sound very interesting. We are very glad that you only have positive experiences in Santos 😊 Thanks for watching
Moro em santos-sp, é uma cidade maravilhosa🔥
Eu concordo! ☀️
i always wondered how they have such a small stadium for such a big and famous club! and also the city itself is pretty big!
Haha yes they do have a small stadium!
But it is big in our hearts!
@@desiguedes69 i am sure it is :)
The city has a very sandy land so if the structure is very heavy and able to sedate a little, they had to take this into account when building the stadium.
@@VerZSeeker oh thanks, i didnt know that
This seems to be a very charming place, I hope I can visit sometime in the future when all this is over. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much! And please keep up the great job! Subscribed!!
Thank you very much for the nice message 😊 Yeah Santos was a nice place where few tourists go. The whole of Brazil has lots of great places like this and the world is now getting easier to travel again! Safe travels
Hah! Nick looks so happy to be the new player of Santos FC! 😂
British football fan's dream!!
Haha! Brazilian football! :-D Thanks for watching guys!
Thanks for visiting my hometown
Obrigado! We love Santos and all of Brasil ❤️
@@WhatThePhoTravelProductions i was in the beach for the fireworks 2018/2019. Did you jump the 7 little waves?
@@desiguedes69 oh cool! The same time as us. No we didn’t jump the waves :( Did you?
@@WhatThePhoTravelProductions i do it every single year
Really nice time there you guys.
Yeah Santos was great, and even better with friends. Thanks for watching :-)
Awesome! We still don't know where we celebrate new year's, but I think Santos just jumped up the list pretty high...
It just looks awesome!
Yeah it was great. Most of Sao Paulo go there. If you're parked by the beach it will be great. But, the water isn't very clean. Some smaller towns along the coast might be better. Some of our friends went to Maresias and they liked it. Worth a little research :-)
@@WhatThePhoTravelProductions Maresias, Ubatuba and Ilhabela are wonderful. These are the places where santistas go on their vacations.
@@WhatThePhoTravelProductions the water is not clear because of the mangroves, Just Cross the bay tô Guarujá and you reach paradisiac beaches, Maresias and the North seaside is pretty crowded
you guys should go to Minas Gerais =)
Hi. We did! :-) We went to Belo Horizonte. That video will be coming! Thank you for watching.
@@WhatThePhoTravelProductions oh nice , the city where i live =) !
Maybe visit the historical towns of Minas Gerais on a future trip (Ouro Preto, Mariana, São João Del Rei, Tiradentes etc). More colonial architecture, lots of history, nice views from up in the hills and more great food. You can visit a gold mine in a cart, which feels a bit like visiting Gringotts haha
Vai pra Curitiba mano, tu vai gostar
Que delícia!
