^This right here. I also believe it's possible he simply put most of his powers or himself within the amulet so he could turn Marceline into another him so she could rule the Nightosphere while he kick back and laze around.

@@teriyakisauce7320 i think its more likely that he was doing a voldemort with that, making sure that if his host dies then his essence will still live on. and marcy just happened to be the closest option for when his host (her dad) wanted to chill for a bit. with finn being able to wear the amulet i think its implied that basically anyone could wear it and become hunson abadeer. i think marcys dad was just a demon who hunson got to use his amulet at some point in the long forgotten past. as for the theory being wrong, like who cares, its fun to see contect about it anyway lol.

The fact that Finn looks very different from Hunson when he puts on the amulet raises more questions, while Marceline looks exactly like her dad with the amulet on. Maybe it only gives you the shape of the primordial if you're a demon?
Who knows, wish we got more info on their origins.
I theorize it's probably more from Finn being pure human. As the ruler of the nightosphere is most likely always a demon, the amulet would be made for demons in mind.
But what if it's also due to Finn being the embodiment of pure good? The amulet fills you with chaotic evil after all, and that can't agree with a being that's supposed to be pure good.

I wonder if Hunson Abadeer went thru something like the Ice king, where the amulet of the Nightosphere made him forget who he actually was and thats why he basically only cares about chaos but still has showings of caring for things like Marceline. Its also weird to me since Marceline has a vampire bite meaning she was turned into one but we see her as a child while still a vampire. Why is that?
Nah she wasn't a vampire as a child, she was half demon and half human, she only became a vampire when the Vampire King bite her.

Personal theory that I have about him is that through some way Marceline's mother imbued some human emotions in him after he was intrigued by her in the first place.
This would prove why sometimes he acts like, well a demon not really understanding what is so wrong about the things he's doing, but also extends to his wanting of showing affection.
But yeah, we have very little to go off on. Would actually love to see a episode or even a comic all about him just to see more on how he thinks.

Primordial monsters seems to be associated with the color yellow. Of all the demons we saw on the series so far (that demon that Joshua fought) and the demons on the nightosphere. All demons are colour red. You know who else is color red? Golb. Demons excreet bananas which is color yellow. Golb is a being of pure chaos who seems to devour everything so his excressions might be the primordial monsters. Where Hunson falls into place is a mystery. His not colour yellow so his not a primordial monster but ofc the lich is also considered to be a primordial and his not yellow so there's that. My take on Hunson is that his a being as ancient as Darren and Ancient Psychic Tandem War Elephant. But whilst those 2 were made for war, Hunson is made to keep the demons on the nightosphere dimension in check.

Considering that Hudson said he got the amulet from his father; I'm guessing the previous ruler of the nightosphere grew weary of their rule and created Hudson to to enheret his powers. Why keep it going? I think the amulet is fueled by chaos and suffering and people wearing it developed a really sadistic personality because of it. Got to spread it all around.
but the thing is the primodal monsters also existed before time came about while golb also exisisted before time hes not part of the orginal monsters.
its hard to say who came first since not all the Primodals are hell bent on destruction it wouldnt make sense for him to shit out beings that are not like him they would all be jsut like him. i say demons where created from a primordial from the sea of monsters and they jsut so happen to be red.

IMO I think that Hunson isn't the primordial but simply an individual that wields the power of that entity. The familial succession route seems plausible as in the amulet being passed down may be a tradition since he tries to bestow the same onto Marceline. But like the video said it's all conjecture until we have more solid clues laying around.
Edit: On that same note, is it also plausible to assume the amulet may alter the wearers personality/nature (similar to the Ice King's Crown)? It seemed to do so to some extent with Marcy when she wore it so is the Hunson we see now different? Did Marcy's mom get to know a much more differenr Hunson a thousand of years ago?

He did say he was raised to be evil, my theory, since he's deathless, he was from the last universe, but as The Marceline of that Universe with his parent being the last Hunson, this being the tradition since the last few universes, but that's just my thought
Part of me thinks Hunson Abadeer is a job, not him as an individual. The dead worlds seem to not contain demons, and it would seem there’s a form of social mobility between the dead worlds, so everyone can end up in the perfect peace one. On the other hand, Hunson’s realm is chaotic and confusing and seems to be full of pain and needless suffering. He could just be an individual who put on or was given the necklace and was corrupted into this, slowly forgetting his own origins, or that he’s connected to life and death. They’re the only two beings whose powers seem to align closest to Hunson’s. The primordials are able to die but Death will always just become whoever kills death, and life is presumably similar. “Hunson” can die, but the ruler of the nightosphere can’t, as long as the necklace is still around.
Maybe Hunson used to be human, but wearing the amulet and living in the nightosphere caused him to slowly become a demon.
Same way Simon slowly became the ice king, aka a version of Evergreen, after obtaining and putting on the crown.
The amulet is probably stronger than the crown seeing as it enhouses and is probably made by a primordial, whilst the crown was made by an elemental, this could explain why Hunson could've changed from human to demom whilst Simon mostly stayed human.

Now that's an idea! Vampires and demons both could have spawned from humans using magical items, knowingly or not, becoming imbued with the magic they were harnessing.
if there really was a war against/between the primordial monsters, than it would make sense for him to have sealed away a lot of his power to get by unnoticed, appearing as an average demon
A point I stick to is with or without the amulet and the sea of chaos that floods who ever that wears it. Who he is and his grip of control over himself does not change. Which makes me believe he is the original and that amulet was just his way of getting marci to take the family business
I think it’s important to note that the Nightosphere isn’t actually an afterlife. It has never been called a dead world, and those we do know of have been cleared numbered and defined as such. I think the reason Hunson was gathering souls in Ooo was to bring more souls into the Nightosphere rather than just to gain power. More demons means more chaos and confusion, so the place would become more stable as a result.
he talks about "carrying on the family business" in the episode where he tricks marceline into putting on the necklace, maybe his parent before him passed down the amulet to him and that's how he got powers. when we see him without the amulet he just has normal vampire powers
hes not a vampire tho i think his only power is sucking souls due to marceline inheriting it. maybe the amulet gave him his other powers like shape shifting, dark magic etc as it was said in the video.

The fact that he wears a suit and knew Marcelines mother, who was alive pre-mushroom war, I would assume he was just a regular guy who found the amulet and was possesed by its powers. Sorta like Ice King's crown except much more messed up. It wouldn't be too far fetched when you think about how the crown makes the wearer always turn into Ice King, the amulet could always make the user turn into a primordial being. But that theory would be especially fucked up because that would mean two of the most important people in Marceline's life were taken away due to magical artifacts.
I'd be willing to believe the power was not originally his. He explains that he gave the amulet to Marcy to fill her with chaotic evil which he said, "was how I grew up." I speculate that it is the nature of the Nightosphere that it cannot have 1 ruler for eternity. It is the realm of organized chaos. As such a ruling line of succession makes sense to me. Always ruled by an Abadeer, but not always the same Abadeer. It would explain why he's so interested in Marcy taking over the family business and why they have a "family axe." Perhaps the first ruler of the Nightosphere was a primordial that sealed it's powers into the amulet allowing for succession.

From the primordials we've seen, they usually have their own personal preferences for how they go about creating and maintaining chaos. The Nightosphere might be Hudson's way of following Golb's teachings.

All the Demons are fully alive, and were more than likely born as and always were demons, except for the occasional mortal who might've struck a deal with dark powers... then became slave to the chaotic order of the Adadeers
Dead Worlds are afterlives which are all tied to Death (the keeper/reaper of souls)
We see several DWs in Distant Lands, including the absolute worst place to go, the First Dead World.
I think it's possible it is a dead world reserved for the absolute worst of the worst, but that was never rlly said or implied. like others, I think it's just another dimension inhabited by demons, not afterlife-related :0

And i think the primordial demon is seperate from Hunson, we've seen stuff like the ice crown and the enchiridion do some insane shit, like affect GOLB, so trapping a primordial's power shouldn't be impossible.
And he said Marceline's bass was the "Family Axe" so he has family in theory? He can also reproduce with a normal human, helps the notion that he's not the primordial.
The fight king is very interesting despite the fact we basically got nothing on him or his sword.

We know that they were most likely the first humans who were exposed to the Mushroom Clouds and were mutated by the mystical radiation from the crater of the Mushroom Bomb that would later become The Lich’s Well of Power.
It kinda frustrates me that a lot of people’s first reaction to them are just like:

Like, I feel like it’s very disrespectful to just ignore what they truly are and write them off as mere mutants when it’s evidently clear that they were once human beings.

What impresses me the most is that, despite how powerful he is, Simon managed to get him take care of Marceline and not leave her with only a threat.
That just speaks volumes on either Simon's actual power, or the amount of respect Hunson has towards him.

That statement was in The Adventure Time Encyclopedia. A source I can't include in a deep dive on the character. That video is incorrect as I learned shortly after that it's no longer canon to the main story 😞
I wonder what happened to the Lightosphere and the Lord of Good. If you must know, the Lightosphere is basically the opposite of the Nightosphere. The Lightosphere is basically a heaven-like dimension with Angels living there.

I wish we saw more of him, he's a pretty cool and kinda funny villain. I think he's a character the show could have done a LOT more with. In my head he's just one of the season 1 things like Mannish Man and the Demon cat, even if he's appeared past that. I wouldn't have minded seeing him as often as some other villains like lemongrab or even Ice king

Pretty cool to see people follow up on adventure time, it was a big part of my becoming an adult experience.
If a character wears some sort of amulet that seals or retains his power, either the character is weak without the amulet or they are absolutely OP even though we never get to see the full extent of it, and it feels like Hunson is the latter...
Since they came out so close together and his design and sometimes speech patterns and mannerisms match those of the calculated business zombie dudes I always though Hudson was a business guy who got turned or "ritualed" somehow and turned into what he is today or maybe he died and just took over the nighosphere after death but I always pictured him originally as a business zombie guy.
Quick clarification: wasn’t it revealed that it was actually Marceline taking the requests of the souls? Granted we could assume that’s the generic job as ruler of the nightosphere, but not how he acted per se

What I find interesting is that for a second finn wears the amulet to the same effect. So it doesn't seem like you have to be a demon to become that primordial

I always thought he just worked as the overseer of damned souls of the multiverse, wherein Death oversaw every other soul. He's a part of the structure of things just like Glob, the Owl, and Prismo, but his chaos brings balance to what was created out of the sea of monsters before the beginning of time and the amulet was a gift created from a Primordial to ensure his reign was absolute. Maybe he met Marcy's mum and had a brief period of compassion if she showed him the meaning of things just by being who she was.
I just wish he met the Lich or one of the other Primordials. I think that would have been an interesting interaction to witness.

The world isn't decaying. It's probably so gray because of ice thing. It's crazy ice world and ice powers have probably created enough clouds to gray out the world.

In the episode "Daddy's little monster" he says that he was raised wearing the collar, and also that ruling the Nightosfere is the family bussiness, so is pretty possible that its a family thing
I like to believe hunson is the original primordial and the only reason the amulet excist is so he could pass down "the bussiness" to his daughter.

I wish the demon blood sword had some special power, other than summoning a demon that wants to kill you, like if it was a fire sword or something, since it was the sword he had while he was dating FP, would've been a cool combo.
@@TrueLocalEnthusiast I'd say when Scarlet turned 4th dimensional would be when Finn got his strongest sword. Too bad the only example we see him use it is to make a black hole implode in on itself by stabbing it, which also *has* to say something about Finn's durability
I think there's one thing you're missing. In those episodes where he gave Marceline the amulet, its revealed his father did the same to him. So its clear there's a line of succession and he is not the OG Nightosphere king. That when the time is right the amulet is passed on and they will be in that state, completely overcome with chaotic energies, until they get corrupted enough to take whatever form they want.

Chances are marcelain's mom and hunson met while he wasn't wearing the amulet. We know that while someone isn't wearing it, they don't go completely bonkers with nightosphere powers. Regular hunson is more like a trickster god who simply just doesn't understand normal people
I believe that hunsons amulets dark magic and "horrors" gonna come back to that, is the embodiment of the primortial itself, in a since posessing them, such as finn being corrupted and drunk on power, its a cosmic horror and this show is built of lovecraftian cosmic horrors, magick, sigils and real protection symbols spreaded all throughout the show hidden in plain sight.

Maybe it's just me, but I always had this idea that Maja the Sky Witch was another daughter of Hunson's.
In an episode when he gave marce the amulet she turned into the same primordial so I think you are right on it being a heirloom

I think what’s more likely is that Hudson somehow met Marceline’s mom as a regular or lesser demon and fell in love but being just a regular demon meant they could never really be together. I would wager Hudson would formulate a plan in his head to become powerful enough to just come and go as he pleases. Meaning he’d have to become king of the Nightosphere to be with her. He’d get exactly what he wanted, beating the previous king or queen, but with a catch, the chaotic evil magic basically destroys the love in his heart causing him to become cold towards marceline’s mom. Her mom, likely still in love with Hudson, probably made the deal with Hudson to have a child around this time. And Hudson himself would accept due to a repressed desire to have a child with her from before he was King of the Nightosphere. The deal was struck, Marcy was born, and they dwent their separate ways. Explaining why Hudson isn’t around for most of Marcy’s childhood.
Considering the primordial form does not carrying over to Marcy wears the amulet. I’d say Hudson may be more linked to the being then we are lead to believe

He was around prior to the bomb falling since Marceline was already walking and talking when her Mother died and later on when she met Simon.
As far as the necklace; what if it was like the Sandman and his Ruby?
He puts his power into it for when he truly needs it. He is more than powerful enough without it for his normal day to day soul eating. And the chaos that it would cause him makes him "lose himself" and we have all seen how much he enjoys hobbies and friends.

Hey I really enjoy your videos regarding the lore of Adventure time, I've been working on d&d game based on the universe of this series. I noticed a small mistake you made in the video when you were explaining Hunson Abadeer's job. The scene where the demons are being tortured that wasn't him, but actually Marceline. It's hard to say if that's actually how he handles his job because we never see him doing it, but understandably that's the best assumption we can go off of. No one seemed confused with how Marceline handled her position so it's likely that this was normal or they didn't wish to question otherwise due to fear of retaliation, of course that's merely speculation.
I mean, he is always begging marcy to “take over the family business”. So it’s probably the primordials power in the pendant thats been handed down in the abadeer family line for generations. Only issue is hundson fell for a human and most definitely only loved her. With her dead that means marcy is his only chance at handing the job down. Which is something he desperately tried to do because he simply wanted to retire.

@@TrueLocalEnthusiast They should still be taken into account as they are APART of The Cosmic Imagination and the multiverse, and there's only ONE GOLB, so that means he got one shot either way by a primordial monster.
Aside from that you should talk about The Dreamers the Enchirdion mentions, The Dreamer is the creator of the cosmic imagination as it was dreamt by a dreamer, who was dreamt by a dreamer, meaning that the adventure time entity as a whole is infinite dimensional with nigh-extraversal, if not extraversal scale.

Perhaps the amulet is something the primordial needs to fully wield his power, like how Gunter was secretly Orgalorg, trapped and confined in the the form of an innocent penguin. The only time Orgalorg seems to able to access his full size and power is when gravity isn't restraining him and he is in space. Perhaps sectioning off some of his power is a way to circumvent this?

If i remember right in the same episode he had Marcellene in the night o sphere wearing the amulet to takes his place he told Finn that's what his old man did with him when it was time for him to take over when Finn asked him why he did that to Marcy, could be wrong but sweat I remember rim mentioning his dad passing the torch to him like he wanted to with Marcy.

Ya know, I always thought it was interesting that Hunson resembled the Business Men that were trapped in the ice and couldn't remember anything. Maybe he was apart of them and got separated or something? With how expansive Adventure Time character design was, those two sharing similarities I couldn't help but raise a eyebrow with intrigue about it. (But that's if my memory is serving me well, it's been a long time since I saw the Business Men XD)
Could you make a video, or even a short, just going every confirmed or highly likely character to have appeared in the sea of monsters? The only one I knew about was Orgalorg, but I keep hearing about more from your videos. I think it's fascinating and a good springboard into theory crafting.

Yeah, I mentioned this in a few comics but the amount of clips we get of him were scarce enough and it's hinted that it's basically the same thing he does as he was proud of how she was doing it.

maybe he was just bored of being in that form or took an interest in the mortal life and fell in love with marcy's mother leading him to make an amulet to store his true form. it's definitely an open book as we didn't really explore marceline's origins of how hunson ended up with a human woman and apparently became an absent father even when his wife died of radiation poisoning and marcy was left alone in the post mushroom war era. or he was busy in the nightosphere who knows

Maybe abadeer made the amulet to get out of that primordial form. So it could mean that the form he is in for most of the time we see him might not be his actual form.
Hunson Abadeer mentions "the family axe" implying that there is like royal family in the nightosphere. So maybe he is a descendent of the original primordial we see in the sea on monsters.
