Difficult behaviour children (Basics and my 3 part system)

Difficult behaviour children can definitely be a challenge when trying to teach and support kids. This video touches on the functions of behaviour alongside a powerful 3 part system to redirecting childrens behaviour towards positive outcomes.
I personally use this positive behaviour intervention every day when dealing with some of the most difficult kids. I continue to find a great deal of success and success to me is not only redirecting the behaviour, but also building a positive relationship rooted in mutual respect.
In order for this 3 part system to work, it is important to consider the needs of the child as well as allow for flexibility, empathy, and understanding. It would be great if challenging kids always just did what we wanted them to do, but at the end of the day, I believe it is more important to help kids solve problems and find their own path to success. Telling people what to do rarely leads to personal growth and positive behaviour.
