    would you like to describe the process of cross-links breaking (by some drugs such as alagebrium)? It is one of that dodgy things which is unclear does it exist or not

    What about Advanced Glycation Endproducts in Food? Problem not Suger but diatry Ages is the problem?

      uhmmm... yeah
      we know this long ago...
      Ask any cardiac nurses or doctors they will tell u that it's endothelial damage the beginning of everything.
      So what damages endothelial walls. Duh they are all well-known: free radicals, smoking, diabetes (there u sugar), physical inactivity,...
      1.Free radicals can disrupt the balance of NO, damage the endothelium, and leave it overly permeable, allowing toxins to pass into body tissues (wut else can do this? Oh it's the small LDL particles surprise, surprise)
      2. In most instances, the human body has an adequate supply of antioxidants obtained from various foods to neutralize these free radicals; but if the body is depleted of these antioxidants, or if there are too many coexistent factors, injury to the endothelium and a change in the balance of NO may occur. (oh what food have antioxidant -fruit and vegetables? What barely have any? oh it's the meat and oil and fat and sugar and refined carb Tada SAD diet is sadder now XD)
      3. If the endothelium becomes damaged and the NO levels become imbalanced, cells that should remain in the blood can pass through blood vessels into the adjacent body tissue. Some of these proteins include C - reactive protein, which is produced by the liver and causes inflammation (there u have the inflammation)
      4. When NO action is inhibited, endothelial signaling can become impaired, resulting in widespread disease, because the endothelium actively maintains approximately 60,000 miles of blood vessels in the human body. Several factors that can increase the number of free radicals in the body including obesity, smoking, sleep deprivation, acute microbial infections, high glucose intake, and exposure to metals and air pollutants. (tada heart diseases risk factors?)
      5.When the endothelium is functioning normally, it helps to regulate blood clotting, assists the body's immune response, controls the volume of fluid and the amount of electrolytes and other substances that pass from the blood into the tissues, and produces dilation or constriction of the blood vessels.
      6. When endothelial dysfunction is present, however, the ability to perform one or more of these functions is reduced. Actually measuring a patient's endothelial function is not routinely done; but when it is, the ability of the blood vessels to dilate and/or constrict in response to drug administration can be assessed.
      7.Endothelial dysfunction is thought to play a major role in the development of atherosclerosis, angiogenesis in cancer, vascular leakage, infectious diseases, and stroke.
      8. Endothelial dysfunction can be caused by several conditions, including diabetes or metabolic syndrome, hypertension, smoking, and physical inactivity (some more risk factors?)

      You absorb about 10-30% of it in the diet. Most of AGEs are formed in vivo or in your blood.
      So yes sugar is still the problem.
      Let's say you eat Raw vegan diet and have not exposed food in high heat that could facilitate AGEs and Raw vegan is basically low proteins and almost zero fats thus no AGEs right? well... You gotta remember that Vegan food is majority Carbohydrates and can lead to increase blood sugar. Rice, Bread, fruits like Bananas and Grapes for example can spike up your blood sugar. Your body still makes Cholesterol and LDL thus even if you have a healthy Level of LDL and zero dietary source of cholesterol you still have a native cholesterol and LDL where Sugar can react. Thus if you blood sugar is High you can still create AGEs and still be at risk of Heart disease.
      The Bottom line here is to limit your carbohydrate intake because even complex carbs and starches are broken down into Glucose. If you wanna clear Glucose better you also need to exercise. the more Glucose in the blood the higher the chance AGEs Form. How about Hypoglycemia? This is only a real problem if you are Diabetic type 1 or type 2 but if you are relatively metabolically healthy your body can compensate by creating sugar form fats, protein, pyruvate and even lactate a process known as Gluconeogenesis and the sugar created from those would be enough to sustain you because you are not insulin resistant unlike Diabetics who are overtly insulin resistant.
      After Meals you can do a 15 mins walking the leg muscles are huge sink for blood sugar. If you had a hearty desert you may wanna extend the walk to 30-45 mins.
      Keep active and reduce your carbs. Increase proteins and fats. If you are plant-based there are plenty of high protein and fat substitute for meat.
